This distinction helps to mitigate the high cost. We began our meal with a shared tuna tower, which was of excellent quality. It was evident that the fish used was sushi grade, fresh, and delectable. We also shared a side of broccolini, which was enjoyable but not exceptional. I opted for the Chilean sea bass, which is consistently excellent. Although I am not a fan of Beurre blanc, I was offered compounded garlic butter as an alternative. However, upon reviewing the bill, we discovered an unexpected upcharge. In my opinion, 21 Main should reconsider this practice, especially considering that the ingredients are not significantly different. My husband had the NY strip steak, which was satisfactory, but it was not served at the requested medium-rare temperature. Instead, it was closer to medium. A steakhouse, particularly of this caliber, should not make such an error. The meal concluded with an espresso, which was excellent and served piping hot. Despite the occasional shortcomings, 21 Main remains a favorite dining destination. I hope that the owners will take the time to read this review and consider the feedback provided.

The inside is not overcooked so you can still taste the freshness of the meat. Both filet and ribeye are cooked perfectly the way we want it. While the outside is crunchy, the inside is still pinky and juicy. The ribeye has more fat than we want but still it is both soft and crunchy at the same time. The drinks are also good. Sake tini is my favorite. Both dessert are excellent. Tiramisu and brulee are mouthwatering tasty. One thing I hate was that they charged us for the steak sauce. I wanted to try different steak sauces and did not know they charged us for each. Hate any places that charge for sauces and that is why 3 stars

Thoroughbreds has a happy hour menu that is served at the bar and a more extensive full menu served at the bar and in the dining rooms. I settled on the burger with fries for my father, with no cheese or other accoutrements that is always served on a pretzel bun. It comes with Gruyère cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion...that's the way I usually get it, but my father being 90 is set in his ways. I decided on an appetizer of escargot and the main course of elk chops cooked medium and served with broccolini and mashed potatoes. After a while(and another glass of wine for my father) the escargot came out with some hot bread and infused butter. The escargot was tender and flavorful with hints of garlic and parsley in a rich butter sauce. The bread was a good choice to dip into the plate. A few moments later, my father's burger came out, cooked to perfection with crispy shoestring fries that were moist and tasty in the middle. The happy hour version of the elk chops consisted of two. They were served crusted over the broccolini with a nice moundful of herb infused mashed potatoes. The elk chops were delicious and tender, and the broccolini and potatoes were seasoned to perfection. By the time we were done, the bar was full and people were having a great time eating and drinking. I looked over at my father and I could tell it was time to go so we headed out the door and drove back to our condo in North Myrtle Beach . Overall, I find Thoroughbreds an excellent upscale dining experience with friendly and professional waitstaff in a club like atmosphere that serves great steaks and chops.

Both are stellar servers. The second time we ate in the sunroom. Nice view but got a bit warm. Of course the heat index that day was 110. It is nicely decorated and the restaurant is large but has a cozy feel with the twinkle lights on the trees.

Service. Service is the first thing that pops to mind when thinking about Bistro 90, secondly, it's the pork belly. Ive dinned here once for lunch and twice for dinner. Lunch was a delicious arugula and poached pear salad with feta, fresh berries, Spanish almonds and cucumber with house made dressing. A large portion and very fresh. Fried green tomatoes were just enough coating to be not to much, scattered merrily across the top is a confetti of sweet corn and roasted peppers. It looks like a party on a plate. They come topped with crab meat, although I requested mine to not have it, it got missed in the order and was served with. No biggie, I just pushed aside. I would definitely order this again. Finally, our first dinner, while on a meat fast, I asked for an option, Roland was quick to acquiesce. He suggested Risotto with a port wine mushroom reduction and roasted vegetables..perfect risotto and this combination. This should be on the menu all the time. Absolutely delicious. Our second dinner I had the pork belly that came with scallops. This was just enough pork belly, not too undercooked and not overcooked, a great smokey grilled flavor. You can't go wrong with pork belly. My husband had the deckle steak which was a first for him as a beef lover. Possibly one of the best steaks he's ever had. Others in our group oohed and awed as they enjoyed their selections. The dishes are bold, original and not remotely fussy. Portions are large, service is smooth. I have to mention the extensive wine list, Bistro 90 has been the recipient of Wine Spectator Award of Excellence 6 years in a row. Did I mention you can get Caymus by the glass?!! Also, an excellent stocked bar with aged and hard to find liquors that you can't find everywhere. Off the main road and out of the busy-ness of Myrtle Beach it's definitely worth a short drive off Hwy 22. The menu on the website is a bit hard to read, it would help to change to a white background so you can see all your options, or go blindly and be prepared to delight your palate. read more

We recently dined at Bistro 90 and the service we received from our waiter; Casey was phenomenal! Not only did he pay very close attention to our needs and wants he also paid close attention to detail, our drinks were never empty, extra silverware was in place before we asked, in sharing a few dishes extra plates were brought out before the food etc. He was able to accomplish all this without making us feel as though he was hovering. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and the specials and the various cuts of meats. We did have a wine question and he readily admitted he wasn't sure of the answer and would get someone who could help us; almost immediately another gentlemen(not sure of the name) came to our table and answered all our questions and even made a few recommendations based on our questions. We followed one of his suggestions and were very satisfied. The most amazing thing was this was only our 2nd trip to Bistro 90; the last being 5 to 6 months ago and Casey recognized us! What a special evening. I brought my mother in with me to celebrate her birthday and catch up on some much needed girl time. We ordered one of the features of the evening which was honey-bourbon glazed jumbo shrimp served with a pineapple slaw on sesame water crackers. What an outstanding combination of sweet, salty and slight crunch from the cracker. We continued on with a lobster tail and center cut Chilean sea bass served with an orange-ginger glaze, which I paired with a glass of Nickel & Nickel Chardonnay. Both entrees were prepared to perfection and beautifully roasted vegetables accompanied our meals. We sat at the bar and had a nice leisurely dinner. The atmosphere is inviting, comfortable and we both enjoyed outstanding service from Casey. We stumbled upon this place and have already recommended it to friends! We ate at world famous Gibson's steakhouse in Chicago this Christmas season and Bistro 90's 8 oz. filet beat theres hands down. I had the Chilean seas bass - amazing. The Brussel sprouts were awesome and the dessert was TO. DIE. FOR! Save room. My husband had the Chefs Creme Brûlée and I had the Orange Cake - super fresh, a perfect summery treat. Roland Sciotto was a welcoming host and our server, Miriam, was a joy! Love this place; been coming for a few years. They are the best and will customize ur experience. Took my wife there for our anniversary. Called them a day ahead and asked if they could do something special for our table. Walked in and there were rose peddles all over the table. Looked amazing. Not to mention the best cooked steak and lamb I've ever had and this happens every time. Roland and his staff are a class act. Roland S I assure you we have been there a minimum of 3 times. The reservations are always under Wilkinson. I have no reason to lie. The evening we were there we mentioned we had to leave early as we were going to a play in Conway. Our reservation was at 5. Please don't insinuate I am a liar. If you don't have a reservation, they treat you horrible here. The food wasn't that good and we had to sit by the door just because we didn't have a reservation. There were about 10 empty tables that nobody else sat in the entire time we were there. The food wasn't impressive either. read more

The staff/service was exceptional, never wanting for anything while providing solid suggestions from the menu. The interior was nicely decorated, perfect visual ambience, and piano music (over speakers) in the background. It really made for an enjoyable dining experience.

This evening was a very good experience, mostly. Let's get the less than positive out of the way. We made reservations for 5PM. We were out and about and got there about a half an hour early. Walk in, spoke with the hostess and explained we knew we were early. (By the way, there were very few people in the restaurant at the time). The Hostess, an older female with longish greying hair, huffed then showed us to a table. She at least took us to an outside table as we requested. She never identified herself. And honestly we felt as if we were bothering her. Ok, enough of that. Now the positive. Our server was Taylor. This young man was awesome. He was upbeat and personable. Very pleasant and wanted to communicate, not just serve us. My wife and I asked for water, and ordered an appetizer of their Mac and Cheese balls. They were awesome. Hot, fresh, stuffed with pasta and warm flavorful cheese. Next we ordered cocktails. My wife ordered a Painkiller. Me an Old Fashion. Taylor recommended I try their version, New Fashion. Made with their mix of a house Bourbon. Man it was good. And the Painkiller? Let's just saw I held my wife hand, and guided her to our vehicle. For our main courses, my wife had the chicken and sausage pasta. I had the Bison Ribeye. Both we would order again without hesitation. The pasta dish was huge. With two breasts and numerous pieces of sausage. Over Fettuccini style pasta, with a lite and flavorful red sauce. It tasted fresh, and rich. She could only eat about a third of it. The rest came home. I ordered my Bison medium rare. The Chef hit it perfectly. Beautiful red meat in the center, nice and warm. So much flavor, and tender. With it I had the potato of the day. They were mashed with the skin. Full of butter, milk, and seasoned. In addition I had a side of creamed spinach. Very rich and deep. The cream tasted similar to a cheese sauce. So good. I brought nothing home. Finished the entire meal there. In addition, because it was our anniversary, the gave us a very nice card. And a piece of cake for dessert. Champaign was offered, but neither of us drink it, and didn't want to waste it. If you haven't tried Crooked Oak Tavern, you are missing a very nice experience.

The host very kindly escorted me there & what a great surprise! The Tap Room host, Joanne, saw me looking a bit lost & greeted me. I didn't want to take a whole table as I was just there for a cocktail. Joanne suggested one of the leather lounge chairs & got me settled. She made me feel very comfortable. I'm old school enough that as a woman I felt awkward being in an unfamiliar town in a bar full of strangers. Joanne reassured me & checked on me throughout the evening. I had a fabulous Old Fashion, enjoyed the multiple TV's & ended up conversing & laughing with a whole family who were also visiting. All around, a great experience that all started with Joanne taking me under her wing & making me feel comfortable. I will definitely go back the next time I'm in Conway!

Our first visit was just for cocktails, which were excellent, but this time we came for dinner. UPTWN Prime--whether you spell it that way or simply call it Uptown Prime--is one of Myrtle Beach's newest upscale steakhouses. The restaurant specializes in 21+ day dry-aged USDA Prime beef, fresh seafood, and an impressive selection of bone-in cuts. The elegant dining room, live music, and expertly crafted cocktails create a polished yet welcoming atmosphere. We started the evening with a beautifully presented sushi appetizer, which strong way to begin a meal at a steakhouse. It set the tone for what would be an excellent dining experience. The meal continued with the house-made bread. It was so good that we asked for a second loaf. There were three of us, including our youngest dining companion--affectionately known as "Little Man," "Small Fry," or "Half Pint." He's an exceptionally picky eater, which can make restaurant outings a challenge. The staff couldn't have handled it better. After checking with the chef, they created an off-menu veal burger on a freshly baked house-made bun. Little Man devoured it faster than I could finish my excellent gin martini, which says everything you need to know. For our entrées, I ordered the Delmonico ribeye while my friend chose the filet mignon. My ribeye was beautifully cooked, flavorful, and paired wonderfully with the rich wine demi-glace, which was outstanding. My only disappointment was discovering that the steak was wet-aged rather than dry-aged. While still delicious, it lacked the concentrated, nutty depth of flavor that I personally look for in a premium steakhouse. The restaurant also offers a well-curated wine list. I enjoyed a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon that complemented the steak perfectly. What truly sets Uptown Prime apart, however, is the service. The willingness of the staff and chef to accommodate a picky child with an off-menu entrée demonstrated a level of hospitality that's increasingly rare. Combined with excellent sushi, outstanding cocktails, quality food, and an inviting atmosphere, Uptown Prime is a welcome addition to Myrtle Beach's dining scene. I'll happily return--next time I'll be ordering one of their dry-aged steaks.

The uptown daiquiri was a great start. Between us we had the crab cake, uptown salmon roll, tagliatelle with short rib ragu, surf and turf, Chilean sea bass, mashed potatoes, and Brussels sprouts. Everything was delicious! My small complaint is the sprouts were a little salty. For dessert we had a very generous portion of bananas foster bread pudding and peach cobbler. Everything was outstanding and we will be back when we are in town.
