Visited on a Sunday because this is the only day they serve brunch. I reserved a same day reservation through Open Table. The restaurant has a lovely decor inside and outside. We were seated in a cute small room with 3 tables. Nice atmosphere. The waitress was friendly! We started with the bread pudding bites and chips and dip. Both were really good! The bread pudding bites were thick and reminded me of a French toast stick. The sauce to go with it was deliciously sweet. We had the biscuits bites, these were overly hard! They would've been better softer. My daughter had the French Toast. She didn't care for it at all. It's not your regular bread dipped in egg French toast. This seems more of toasted French bread. I don't recommend it. My husband had the pancakes and chicken. He didn't really care for the texture of the chicken. It seemed breaded. Overall our visit was nice and we would definitely return for the chips and dip and the bread pudding bites! read more

We came in during lunch and were told there was a 10 min wait. No problem. After about 15 minutes, we got a table. After sitting there another 15 minutes, we were finally given menus and our drink orders were taken. After another 10-15 minutes, our orders were taken. I had a vodka freeze with St Germaine and it was pretty good. The spinach dip came and it was pretty standard. I ordered a bowl of corn bisque. My fiancé had a cup of gumbo. The bowl I received was extremely shallow and the contents were about the same as a cup would be. It was very good, it just took forever to get to me and was disappointingly small in serving size. This place did not meet my expectations whatsoever. The spinach and artichoke dip tasted frozen and microwaved with a layer of cheese that was rock hard. I dont know whose bright idea it was to put the poboy bread inside out, but that was pretty idiotic. Shit felt like sandpaper on the roof of my mouth everytime I took a bite, crumbs everywhere. I visited this location before for brunch which was delicious, so I had no concerns going back for dinner. Despite it being busy, we were able to get a table and order quickly. The food did come out relatively fast but everything tasted great! Our waitress was really sweet and attentive. Unfortunately my eyes were bigger than my stomach and I could not finish the large plate of eggplant I ordered. Lol, but I'd definitely order it again with extra etouffee on top. read more

When I'm home in Baton Rouge my trip isn't complete without a visit here. They have 2 locations but this one is closer to my moms house. Honestly everything that I've tried is good but I do have my go to dish which is the back of the stove chicken with succotash. Talk about total comfort food. I always add a side of carrot soufflé with whatever I choose because that stuff is addictive. This visit I decided to try something different. I admit I was hesitant but I'm glad I stepped outside the box. I ordered their version of chicken and dumplings. What a great dish! Those Parmesan biscuits were so good! Every bite had nice pieces of tender white meat chicken. All ingredients married very well together. This dish made me feel like I was home in front of a nice toasty fireplace wrapped in a blanket. Yes I snapped back to reality since the current temps outside were over 90 degrees but it still was worth it! I tried their Vodka Freeze for my drink. It's similar to a daiquiri. It was very good and was packed with flavor and the best part...alcohol! The atmosphere is open and inviting. You can choose to dine outside as well. They offer a Sunday brunch which is very popular. I'm definitely looking forward to my next visit. Maybe I'll try something different. read more

What happened?? I usually head here when we have guests in because we always have wonderful food, service and ambiance. Well, this time the service was wonderful and ambiance on point but the food...oh the food! My hamburger was overdone and the bun super dry. The shrimp salad had a lot of shrimp but they were definitely not Louisiana gulf shrimp. We would have preferred less shrimp that were a nice size then the pipsqueaks that were on the plate with a tsp of dressing. I am thinking frozen (not USA) shrimp. I know we are paying more for food due to "whatever reason" but I do expect the same level of quality. Again...What happened?!?? read more

Fabulous meal and ambience! We recently moved in nearby and are slowly exploring the area. So far, Bistro Byronz has been our best meal in BR! It is located in an adorable shopping area. I recommend sitting on their spacious covered patio and listening to the water fountain! Once seated, we discovered this place has some sort of drink special all day. It's hard to complain about that! Since we visited after 6, we got the daily special cocktail, which was a Pimm's cup for $6. I don't get Pimm's Cups often, but I think I'm a convert after theirs. You could tell it was freshly made with cucumber and lemon. Delicious! For my entree, I chose the chicken paillard based on other Yelp pics. I wanted a salad too and was pleased to discover all of their entrees come with a house or Caesar salad. I chose the Caesar and also added a side of their Asian Vinaigrette, which I would highly recommend! Our entrees came our very quickly and were piping hot. I loved the Chicken Paillard! It was light but filling. The grilled veggies (red pepper, zucchini, squash & onions) were perfectly cooked with just enough char and actually had flavor unlike many places who do veggies. I have no idea how they make the onion roasted potatoes, but they're like crack. I was so impressed with Bistro Byronz! The sweet tea was fabulous and so were the fries. The prices are good and so was the service. I wasn't blown away by the food but for the most part it was good in flavor. My only wish was the catfish need to be whole and not thin. I mean it wasn't meaty (I know it's not meat but you know what I mean..) lol. Everything else was good though. I've been to Bistro Byronz before and I loved it, but the last time I went I was a bit disappointed. I went for my friend's graduation dinner and was excited to try some new dishes but I wasn't much of a fan. I ordered the corn and seafood bisque which I thought would be creamy but it was a little watery. I also wanted to try something new which is why I ordered the tomato basil mac and fromage. It was definitely not what I expected and it was just kind of an odd dish. It was described as it being topped with chicken but I didn't think it was going to be three huge fried blocks of mac and cheese with two whole chicken breasts layered between them. I didn't even eat the chicken because it was just flavorless and didn't go with the dish really at all. The fried mac and cheese was pretty good but the cheese wasn't melted on top so I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have. Their strawberry vodka freeze was a hit as well as their blue cheese chips and surprisingly the grit frite which was super unique and good. I liked the spinach dip, but the portion was so small and it could barely be shared between two people let alone the whole 8 top. I really do enjoy this place but this last visit was not great. I'll be back to give it another try but I'll for sure order something else. read more

UPDATE Much better the last time I went! The marketing director, Chelsey, reached out to me and had asked me to come back with my parents. This time we all got burgers--the veggie burger, the blue cheese one, and then the regular one! I also tried the Pimm's cup, which was the featured cocktail for the day ($6 instead of $8). The food came out promptly, in about 15-20 minutes. The veggie burger was bomb! I got it based off the suggestion from a friend and it did not disappoint at all. It was juicy and flavorful; the bun was buttered and crisp. Service was spot on as well. Our drinks were never empty and they were so sweet to us. I would definitely come back as they obviously care greatly about customer service and that time before must've just been a blip. read more

This was my first time going to this location so I decided to go during Restaurant Week. Our server Rebekah was really nice and on top of things. I had the Crawfish Pudding Du Pain and it was AMAZING! Apparently, it's not one of their regular items on the menu but I wish they would reconsider because it was delicious! It had a really good, creamy sauce on it, lots of Gruyere cheese and a lot of mushrooms in it. I ended up ordering 2 pieces to go bc it was so good. I really liked the Crawfish Melt appetizer too because they actually put a good bit of cheese on it. The Tomato & Basil soup was also yummy but I wish they would've put more of it in the cup. I kept thinking about ordering a grilled cheese sandwich so I could dip it in there but I decided it was probably too much food. One thing I wasn't impressed with was the Back of the Stove Chicken. My boyfriend ordered that and the Caesar salad. He orders it every time at the other location so we were both in agreement that it tasted better at the other location. It lacked flavor. It needed more of some kind of seasoning. The chicken was also shredded which was weird and it didn't have a lot of gravy on it. I told him to ask for more gravy but he didn't want to. I'm thinking maybe we got the last bit of it maybe or they were just busy bc it was Restaurant Week. Everything else was great. My strawberry Vodka Freeze was really refreshing and not too sweet. If you haven't had the King Cake Bread Pudding you're really missing out. It's sooo good!!! It's DELICIOUS! You just have to taste it for yourself. My son and I went to Bistro Byronz last week for our first time. I had no idea what to get since everything on the menu sounded delicious. Our a fantastic server Ms. Kennedy recommended a few things and I ended up choosing the French Dip. I am so glad that I did because it was AMAZING! I even took a bite of my sons chicken tenders and those were really great and full of flavor too! Ms. Kennedy was so sweet and attentive throughout the entire time that we were there. The area that the restaurant is in is so cute and my son and I ended walking around looking at the other shops and restaurants. I've been here for brunch a number of times, and happy hour once or twice. It's definitely a favorite of mine for big group brunches. I love that they take reservations, and the brunch menu is extensive. They offer brunch and lunch which is great! They also do bottomless mimosas on Sundays. The service is usually decent, definitely not great but definitely not bad. The mimosas are served in small glasses so I often find myself with an empty which isn't ideal but it happens. The food portions are quite small, but the prices reflect the size in my opinion. A lot of the brunch entrees are less than $10 so honestly you could get 2 if you're really hungry. The happy hour specials are decent, and the chips with blue cheese are SO. GOOD. Overall, I would say come for a fun environment with friends, and a decent meal. Don't come expecting the best food/service you've ever had. read more

This was restaurant week, so for a special price, patrons can get a three course meal... usually with items that aren't on the everyday menu. The trade off is that the portions are slightly smaller, and you don't have much choice in what you order. For an appetizer, I got their legendary homemade potato chips topped with three cheeses and chive. Excellent. The main course was pork tenderloin. It was plenty tender, but the pork lack the seasoning needed to make it stand out. The steamed green beans were also unseasoned. The mashed sweet potatoes were magical, however. Desert was king cake bread pudding and ice cream. The serving size was pitiful, and the king cake "bread pudding" tasted simply like mashed up king cake. The service was really slow. read more

4.75 is my rating. Around 7:35pm is prime time for me here. The roast beef was spot on. Most restaurants roast beef is salty, however, they have the best I've eaten from a local restaurant. Good customer service keeps customers walking in the door but great food keeps the coming back. Parking kinda sucks for all businesses in this shopping center. Girl Scout Troop Leaders go wild at Bistro Byronz...seriously though, the Vodka Freeze did me in! We were very excited to check out the new location, and it definitely proved worthy. It looked vastly different from their Government Street location, but both are beautiful and very unique. The service was perfect, the food was fab, and the drinks were yummy. We chose to go all out with drinks, an appetizer, entrées with salads, and dessert. The Vodka Freeze with strawberry was awesome and very much like an adult Icee. Not sure if it's unique to Bistro Byronz as I'd never heard of it but was definitely impressed with how you truly didn't taste the vodka, yet the effect was strong. For our app, we shared the Blue Cheese Chips, which were perfect. Melted blue cheese stayed warm with not an overpowering flavor of Blue Cheese, and the chips were homemade but weren't salty like some made in house and stayed very crispy. Pretty close in comparison to Zapps actually. Next, entrées. We chose two Pot Roast Creoles and the Back of the Stove Chicken. I didn't get to try the chicken, but I do know that the pot roast was wonderful. Very tender, juicy, and well flavored meat plus perfect mashed potatoes with gravy and green beans. Also, the price was right for the quantity and the portion size was plentiful. It also came with a salad. I chose the Bistro Salad which was a light spinach salad loaded with pecans and craisins; I tend to love sweet salads so loved it and ate every bite. For dessert, we shared the Heavenly Hash which had ice cream, melted marshmallows, and crunchy, chocolatey, candy like bars. Honestly, not my favorite dessert. We wanted something really chocolatey, but unfortunately the three dessert choices they had weren't that rich with chocolate. Apparently I'm also not a huge fan of marshmallows mixed in to my ice cream because that was my least favorite part. Next time, I'll try the Banana's Foster Bread Pudding. read more

I had the chicken pot pie for my entree, and it was amazing. My friend had the Cali wrap, it was also good-- I had a bite. I also found out that they have happy hour all day long which is fun. My friend and I went around 2 on a weekday. The food was fine and the service was fair. The chips are a fun appetizer and this was normally my favorite salad in town. Today, I was disappointed by not really tasting the orange rosemary vinaigrette but it tasted like a lot of bland oil coating some of my spinach. The seasoning on the shrimp were good and the other toppings make for a generally yum time. The food at Bistro Byronz is very good. We had the blue cheese chips for our appetizer, which I highly recommend. Then, we spilt the crawfish etoufee and the shrimp and grits for our meal. Both were delicious! The shrimp and grits were great. They serve fried shrimp, which makes it even better. The etoufee was tasty as well. Lots of crawfish in a rich sauce. We tried a couple drinks as well which were all very good (especially since it was happy hour). My one complaint is the service. Our waitress did not want to be at our table at all. Granted, on their new COVID menu, they explain that the waiters will not linger at your table for too long. However, our waitress took this new rule WAY too far. She was running off while we were still talking to her and trying to ask her questions. It was quite frustrating and made it seem like we were an inconvenience to her. This is one of our neighborhood restaurants so we have been wanting to try it. I LOVE a French dip and my husband was in the mood for a poboy so we got just that! First my French dip- there was honestly nothing right about this. It had 2 slices of roast beef. It was oddly fried and the batter had come off. There was very little onions and cheese. Unfortunately, it was NOT juicy. The French bread was so oddly done, it's hard to explain. I really hope this was just a bad sandwich because the guy who took our order said this was one of their most popular lunch dishes. On top of that, the " au jus" was not "jus" it was a gravy. Very disappointing. On to the hubs: his was the debris poboy and he added fried shrimp (best of both worlds). The debris was dry but the fried shrimp was food. The bread was soft but had a very small crunch. 3 stars because it's a neighborhood place that's very popular so we hope they will succeed and if they don't maybe something better will replace them. read more

My group had mimosas, I had a Bloody Mary, and a lawnmower specialty beer. I loved my Bloody Mary although if you don't like really spicy I wouldn't recommend it. We had a large group and it was crowded so we expected a wait and they quoted us 30-40 minutes well after 45 minutes rolled around we bought a round of drinks. After an hour I went to ask how much longer and they said they were waiting on another large party that had been there for 2 hours. Well the manager felt bad since they had quoted us half the time it was taking so they bought us a round of drinks. Which made up for it imo. So we sat down in a nice round table staff greeted us right away. Noticed we already had drinks so she brought us a pitcher of water along with our filled water glasses. I personally love when restaurants have a side pitcher so you don't have to wait for waiters to keep refilling your water glass. We ordered the blue cheese chips appetizer that was yummy. That came out fast, however, the food was another on the long side wait. I think it was because we had a large group and probably because it's new. Staff are getting used to things yadi yada. The food finally came and everything looked great and mine was still hot and fresh. I loved it, and we were right by a tv that was playing the playoff game Seahawks and packers. This place is so good! Decided to go here on a Thursday night. They weren't too busy and the restaurant was set up socially distanced and the employees were wearing masks! I got the blackened shrimp salad! The pairings of the mandarins with the shrimp was great! The blackened shrimp have the salad a great flavor! They also have you an entire half of avocado which I loved!!!!!! Most places are VERY stingy with how much avocado they give you! But I thank Bistro Byronz for giving me a good portion of it! She is spectacular at her game (Sam) The grilled chicken seasoned very well, but the vegetables were cold. What's with BR and the cold cooked vegetables? I was at this establishment not to long ago. While dining in, I heard the Manager (I believe her name was Chelsea) cursing and yelling at the staff in the kitchen! This made the environment feel incredibly hustle and not welcoming. Unfortunately, my group and I will not be returning (food was good). Managers should not be acting out like that. read more

I'm there with my sister every Sunday for brunch, and two or three times during the month for dinner. We feel like family when we walk in, usually not needing to have prior reservations. The food is nearly always excellent, the ambience is great, although the music frequently isn't what I would consider "dinner" music. I know James Brown "Feels Good", but would prefer a little Dave Brubeck. We know most of the servers on sight, they always recognize us as regulars, and one of our favorites is Ryleigh. She is always full of energy, with a big smile on her face, providing excellent service with frequent check-backs without being intrusive. The reason we like her is that she treats us as friends, and has fun cutting up with us, with jokes and friendly sarcasm, which we freely return in kind. We've been going there for several years, and even got take out during the early days of Covid-19. One thing special about Bistro Byronz? During the shut-down of the pandemic, they didn't close and lay off their employees, they stayed open for carry out and delivery, but also prepared over 5,000 meals which were delivered to First Responders and Medical Staffs. They not only have great people serving great food, they also care about the community they are in!! Yes, I'm a big fan of Bistro Byronz, and will continue to be a customer, (and "family" member) for a long time! read more
