First, I would like to say that I have eaten at Bistro Byronz for lunch and dinner many times before, and loved each time. I've always been impressed with their food. This last time I went for a Sunday brunch. I ordered the bread pudding bites for an appetizer and a Bloody Mary. Both were great. For the main course I ordered Eggs Benedict and my boyfriend ordered grits & grillades with hash browns on the side. My food was good but cold. My boyfriend said his food was the worst meal he's ever eaten. The presentation was terrible. The grillades was just stressed roast beef. The tomatoes were sliced like they were meant for a burger and sat out the entire night before. If they did not have the proper ingredients, the waiter should have just informed us so he could pick something else. My boyfriend wanted me to describe his meal as tasting like "a dog's asshole". (Only giving two stars because I've been before this and enjoyed the food.) read more

Would give this restaurant a negative rating if it was possible. Literally the worst service. They gave "old menu's" per the servers language, so when we ordered they said actually we don't have that anymore. So then they had to give us completely different menus. They forgot my dinner when everyone else at the table received their food, then took 40 minutes to give me my receipt. The server gave me the wrong charges on my bill initially to add to the demise. Seriously y'all need to do better. The ONLY nice person in the restaurant was the bar tender and she was amazing. read more

Came here for brunch and it was nice. It's casual but not TOO casual which I liked. I had the crabcakes with poached egg and it was delicious - this coming from someone who doesn't like runny egg yolk but it tasted great with the crabcake. I also had a mimosa which made me feel just right ;) The inside has a very vintage look to it which I personally love. I was enamored with a simple old mirror on the wall. The service was good, beautiful smiles on all the servers faces. What an awesome experience. Came in on a Friday night and was seated immediately. Service may have been some of them best we have received and the food lived up to the hype. We ordered the blue cheese chips, catfish, shrimp and grits and the bread pudding. We had a reserved space for Sunday brunch with a bridal shower group. Our server was very helpful and kind, she made sure everyone was well taken care of. I had the bread pudding bites and would go back just to have this! It was excellent. I also ordered the Poché Etouffee Benedict, which was good. A fried poached egg set on a bun smothered with crawfish etouffee is a great idea! The execution was missing something with the crab...it was odd, kind of like canned crab, but it was overall good. This was my first time going to this location so I decided to go during Restaurant Week. Our server Rebekah was really nice and on top of things. I had the Crawfish Pudding Du Pain and it was AMAZING! Apparently, it's not one of their regular items on the menu but I wish they would reconsider because it was delicious! It had a really good, creamy sauce on it, lots of Gruyere cheese and a lot of mushrooms in it. I ended up ordering 2 pieces to go bc it was so good. I really liked the Crawfish Melt appetizer too because they actually put a good bit of cheese on it. The Tomato & Basil soup was also yummy but I wish they would've put more of it in the cup. I kept thinking about ordering a grilled cheese sandwich so I could dip it in there but I decided it was probably too much food. One thing I wasn't impressed with was the Back of the Stove Chicken. My boyfriend ordered that and the Caesar salad. He orders it every time at the other location so we were both in agreement that it tasted better at the other location. It lacked flavor. It needed more of some kind of seasoning. The chicken was also shredded which was weird and it didn't have a lot of gravy on it. I told him to ask for more gravy but he didn't want to. I'm thinking maybe we got the last bit of it maybe or they were just busy bc it was Restaurant Week. Everything else was great. My strawberry Vodka Freeze was really refreshing and not too sweet. If you haven't had the King Cake Bread Pudding you're really missing out. It's sooo good!!! It's DELICIOUS! You just have to taste it for yourself. My parents and sister went here recently and had mixed feelings, but we re-visited last night and let me tell you it was great! I had the Pimm's cup to start off with, it was light refreshing and sweet. For dinner, I wasn't really feeling meat so I went with the veggie burger. The veggie burger was delicious--flavorful and not dry. I also liked how the bun was perfectly toasted. Everyone at the table enjoyed what they got and our server was so sweet and quick. We chose Bistro Byronz for a birthday dinner celebration. The atmosphere is much like Nola to me, vintage couture and I love that! We had a party of 7 and made reservations. For appetizers we ordered the Bleu Cheese Chips and Three Cheese Chips. They were okay, more of something for the kids and they loved them! I ordered the Chicken Artichoke Bake for my entree with the Bistro Salad. And my husband ordered Back of the Stove Chicken with a Caesar Salad. Both were quite tasty. Brennan our server, was great always checking on us and making sure we didn't want for anything. We did explain we were there for our daughter's birthday. After our dinner we ordered the Cookie Crumble Parfait for the birthday girl, realizing they must not provide dessert for birthdays. I was really excited to try this place when I looked at the menu. The menu has an extensive selection of Cajun and comfort fare, sandwiches, and salads. I really wish the food had lived up to my expectations. We started with the hummus. The hummus came with carrots, cucumbers, and fried tortillas. I got a cup of the chicken and sausage gumbo. It was really good. Dark and rich. I ordered the debris poboy and mashed potatoes. I was really disappointed. The sandwich was dry. Very little gravy. No lettuce or any other toppings. The potatoes tasted like they had been sitting out for a while. No surprise since the service was really slow. The carrot soufflé was the best I've ever had. We also got the Poisson Acadian. Fried catfish on crawfish etouffee. It was decent. Nothing really special. We finished the meal off the key lime pie. It was very limey, and not very sweet. The service was VERY slow. Our server didn't seem to have it all together. I'm not sure if she was new, but it wasn't up to par with a restaurant of this caliber. All in all, if I lived closer I would possibly give this place another shot. But I doubt I'll be back given the great options in BR. It's a shame too because I felt like it had so much promise. After driving in disgusting Baton Rouge traffic, let's just say I was SUPER excited to make my way to our table. The hostess was extremely welcoming and accommodating. I did not want a tall table and he was able to find me a regular one! The waitress was very bubbly and took our order without any problems. I ordered the steak and frite salad. It was fantastic! Girl Scout Troop Leaders go wild at Bistro Byronz...seriously though, the Vodka Freeze did me in! We were very excited to check out the new location, and it definitely proved worthy. It looked vastly different from their Government Street location, but both are beautiful and very unique. The service was perfect, the food was fab, and the drinks were yummy. We chose to go all out with drinks, an appetizer, entrées with salads, and dessert. The Vodka Freeze with strawberry was awesome and very much like an adult Icee. Not sure if it's unique to Bistro Byronz as I'd never heard of it but was definitely impressed with how you truly didn't taste the vodka, yet the effect was strong. For our app, we shared the Blue Cheese Chips, which were perfect. Melted blue cheese stayed warm with not an overpowering flavor of Blue Cheese, and the chips were homemade but weren't salty like some made in house and stayed very crispy. Pretty close in comparison to Zapps actually. Next, entrées. We chose two Pot Roast Creoles and the Back of the Stove Chicken. I didn't get to try the chicken, but I do know that the pot roast was wonderful. Very tender, juicy, and well flavored meat plus perfect mashed potatoes with gravy and green beans. Also, the price was right for the quantity and the portion size was plentiful. It also came with a salad. I chose the Bistro Salad which was a light spinach salad loaded with pecans and craisins; I tend to love sweet salads so loved it and ate every bite. For dessert, we shared the Heavenly Hash which had ice cream, melted marshmallows, and crunchy, chocolatey, candy like bars. Honestly, not my favorite dessert. We wanted something really chocolatey, but unfortunately the three dessert choices they had weren't that rich with chocolate. Apparently I'm also not a huge fan of marshmallows mixed in to my ice cream because that was my least favorite part. Next time, I'll try the Banana's Foster Bread Pudding. read more

I really like this new location of Bistro. Near Perkins Rowe, a little larger than their Government Street location but no echoing! Love the outdoor seating and the bar area, and the waitstaff is VERY attentive. As at the other location, their happy hour is one of the best hidden gems in Baton Rouge but make sure you're there between 4-6pm to check it out. It's nice to have a slightly upscale place nearby to have a cocktail and blue cheese chips after a long day at the office. read more

Tried this place out for the first time not realizing it was in a reasonable distance from my work. I'm glad my co worker and I landed here because eating around Siegen Lane is just so blah these days. When we arrived around 2:15PM the place was pretty busy. We were asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside and we chose outdoors because it felt nice. My only gripe is when the hostess sat us there were tons of available tables outside but we were sat literally half a foot next to a couple which I would have rathered a table further down. The place is located in a new construction area which is really nice, I can't wait till it is all done because some parts are still under construction. The decor and set up is nice and has a sleek modern feel. Our server was very attentive (Taylor) and made good recommendations based off our questions and mood. I had the "Byronz Lite" sandwich and it was the perfect amount to hit the spot without feeling too full on a hot day. I'm looking forward to bringing my family over for brunch in the morning to get a better taste of what Bistro Byronz has to offer! read more

First time here, will be back again. The place is great for lunch, and just large enough to accommodate a small party of five or less. The place is fresh and stylish, yet easy going and comfortable. I started with an appetizer, the Spinach & Artichoke Dip with in-house cut chips. The dip was creamy, flavorful, and had the just the right size artichokes to make eating easy. My entree for lunch was the ByReuben (Byronz styled Reuben). It came out plated nicely featuring a deli sliced pickle, coleslaw, and the reuben sandwich. The ByReuben had a great flavor packed in a non-traditional bun which complemented the sandwich. The coleslaw on the other hand, not sure it was for looks or to eat. Looked really good, but didn't have much of a taste, so I decided not to eat it because I wasn't sure. Overall, great place for lunch. If you're looking for a more dressed up sandwich verses the other places, stop by and give it a try. read more

Delicious good and a great atmosphere. I've gone a couple of times and the staff is always friendly and quick. Great menu and a nice place for family meals or work dinners. It's convenient near my job so I can go with my coworkers to relax and just enjoy the food.
