After becoming a household name from their uber famous Metairie location, I was delighted when Drago's finally made its way to Baton Rouge. Any place that is known for their oysters will always get my vote, even when they opened during the height of COVID. They still managed to push along and became one of the city's most well-known seafood destinations. Fast forward to 2025 and it's now closed. While I'm disappointed, I can't say I'm surprised. The place went from being the new kid in town to looking dated in a short handful of years. The staff was always a mixed bag, with subpar service outpacing the occasional outstanding experiences. It was always so spacious in here but rarely full, that I never understood the need for the hostess to give my large groups of people a hard time about not making reservations. (#1) The oysters are and will always be the star of the show. I love a good raw oyster and they seemed to have a decent batch each time, however the charbroiled ones were the ones to get. They were buttery, a little messy, and heavily seasoned with lots of salty parmesan on top. It was sometimes the only worth ordering given how inconsistent the rest of the menu was. Some other go-tos were the seafood pasta, lobster mac, and even the occasional gator tacos but even those dishes had their bad days. I was actually pretty impressed with their ribeye, but was quite disappointed with the boudin balls, gumbo, and some of their fried shrimp. In addition to service snafus and inconsistent food, the prices were always a tough pill to swallow. I'm aware seafood will forever carry a premium price tag, but when other seafood places charge a lot less for better quality output, then it becomes a point of contention. While I do hope they find a reason to re-open in Baton Rouge, I think I'll stick to their original location in Metairie. Had my first visit during Thanksgiving weekend. Able to walk right in and get a table. Very extensive food and cocktail menu. My dirty martini was deliciously icy, but not as dirty as I would have liked. I loved my friend shrimp platter, except it was bizarre when I asked for the onion rings to be left off my plate (I don't eat them and I hate to waste food). I was told they were part of the presentation and couldn't be removed...except they were pretty much on the side of the plate.

We called here to make sure they had room for us for my mom's birthday tonight. They were very communicative on the phone and helpful. We actually went to the old location and called them and they gave us their address which was helpful. Parking is a bit difficult at this Perkins Rowe location. We brought my 93 year-old grandma and she had trouble getting in. The staff seemed to be very nice and accommodating. For appetizer we got a crab cake, which was very good. The crab sat on top. For my meal I ordered red beans which came out 15 minutes before everyone's meal. I didn't want to accept it then, but it would just sit in the back until all the other food was done so I accepted it early. After the food runner walked away. I realized I had little to no rice at all. I mixed in the rice and it was like half a scoop. I asked our server if I could have some more rice she said the kitchen had to cook more. So I sat there with the food in front of me for about another 10 minutes waiting on the kitchen to cook rice. Seemed a bit odd but I had all beans no rice so couldn't even eat that. I also felt guilty for eating in front of my family so I just decided to wait. Finally everyone's food came out and everyone seemed to be pretty happy with theirs. My mom got the seafood pasta with extra crab meat. Very good! My grandma got the crawfish fest and my dad got the twin trio filet mignon with lobster tail which he said was very good, but the fillet had little to no taste. It was my mom's birthday so the server gave us a complementary brownie dessert. Overall, the food was good And we would return.

Everything was so good!!! I haven't been to this Drago's location since they first opened because my experience was not good, especially compared to the Metairie and Lafayette locations. My opinion has definitely changed! Everything we ate was delicious, great service, very large and clean restaurant. I like the bread pudding more now than I have in the past, it seems they changed how they serve it. Also, lots of changes to the menu that I want to try, will definitely be back. And the oysters are always a hit!!

Charbroiled Oysters! That's all that you need to know! The oysters are rich in flavor as you can taste the layer of bread crumbs on top of the succulent chargrilled oysters that are buttered up with their mouthwatering sauce. You eat the oysters with bread, Tabasco and a squeeze of lime. 5/5 The crawfish etouffe was ok. The broth was on the thicker side of things. 3/5 The tuna salad was refreshing but the greens were not as fresh as I'd hoped for. 3/5

Tuesday dinner time in BTR and I just drive in from Lake Charles..hungry I went straight and early to Dragos. I've eaten at the NOLA location and figured if I wanted seafood this was where to do I started with 6 chargrilled oysters and a cup of their chicken gumbo and both were very good. For an entree I had the redfish piccatta which was excellent. Cooked perfectly with a lemon caper sauce served hot with a rice medly and steamed spinach Tired I called an early end to the night but to note the bar is big with ample seating and TVs for sports - definitely a great environment to eat or just quench your thirst Finally service was excellent with plenty of knowledgeable input from my friendly server Kobi :)

Second time at this location and still outstanding service and food.. My only complaint would be that they close early. We were at the bar watching the Maverick game and they closed? I'm sure they have their reasons for closing but on nights with the NBA finals going on? Will definitely be back as much as possible of course, yes food is that good. Fat Boy tip: Grilled oysters and old fashions strangely go great together.

The blackened gator tacos and boudin were perfect!

Drago's never disappoints. The only down side is the location in Perkin's Row. Parking is a pain. The food is worth the inconvenience.

Last time I went I had the lobster. Was nice and fresh. The seafood pasta and onion rings are also good choices.

Came here for dinner on a whim, and couldn't believe what I have been missing out on. Having lived…read morein Houston previously, where there were many great Greek and Mediterranean fares, this restaurant surpassed them all. The portions were perfect, the flavors all blended nicely, with nothing too salty, too bland, or overpowering other flavors in the dish. Their hummus and pita are all made fresh in house, and a must try for appetizer. I then ordered the rice, chicken and lemon soup bowl along with the politika meatballs. The soup is best described as slurping down comfort food. The meatballs were a blend of beef and lamb, which helped to bring down the bold flavor of lamb, and allowed all the flavors of the saganaki tomato sauce to complement. All of that still some left room for desserts. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the choices. They all looked good. I went with this custard filled filo that was drizzled with honey. It's baked to order, so it was fresh, warm, crispy flakes of filo, and sweetened with honey and a hint of orange zest. Honestly, it's difficult to put it into words to describe it perfectly, but it was very good.

I felt like I was back in the 80s at the bar Cheers. The regulars have been gate keeping but their secret is out now. One of their bartenders--Logan--was exceptional!
