Food was very well prepared and presented. You pay ahead of time so carry some cash for tip unless you gonna tip in advance which they highly deserve for food and service. Definitely top ten halal places. 2nd time around lamb chop plate w/ hummus was nice juicy and soft. Chicken shawarma/gyro plate was missing gyro and dressing for salad and I felt like the chicken was over cooked but they did give the gyro and dressing on the side right away. Also fast service. Kind of a bummer, but i didn't love this place. mind you, this is purely based on my tastes so someone else may really love the food here. We ordered the gyro doner platter (gyro, rice, salad, dressing, pita) and we ordered the falafel platter (falafel, dolmades, tons of rice, salad, dressing, pita). The portions are large. The falafel was crispy and cooked well but tasted as if there was cinnamon in it. It just didn't do it for me at all. The dolmades were filled with a tart tomato sauce rice filling that also just wasn't great to me. It was kind of a sour taste. And the rest of the platter was about 2 lbs of rice. Ok, it was at the end of the night so maybe they were just wanting to get rid of it, but it was a lot. It was herbed rice, but just not a whole lot different tasting than no herbs. The tatziki was really good. The gyro meat seemed a little old, like it had been cut a few hours earlier and sat in the heated tray. I had heard that the chicken Kabob was really good here. I shouldn't have deviated. My bad. I will say that the customer service was good. read more

Tried to call in no one answered. Went in to order food. Took a while for one wrap and fries.... no biggie two people behind the counter. Food was not worth the 25 min wait. Chicken doner wrap was boring and tasted strongly of vinegar. Just got done surfing was starving and couldn't even eat half :( Fries were boring not a dash of salt. I love this place! I am quite surprised at myself that I have not reviewed this place yet. I work in the area so this is usually my first choice when I go out for a team lunch or need to cater lunch into the office. I've tried most things on menu but my favorite is the chicken tandoori platter that comes with about six pieces of chicken, rice, and your choice of salad or fries. I'd recommend asking for their house made hot sauce to pour over the chicken (gives it a kick). Their customer service is also great, the food comes out pretty quick and is always warm. Food was surprisingly good. It's fast food but it's clean and fresh. You order and pay at counter and they bring it to your table. This is a good place for meat eaters and vegetarians to eat together. I got a kale salad with double meat skewer. One steak and one dark meat chicken. Both were great. read more

Mediterranean Cuisine is my fave and I love the clean delicious food at this restaurant! I usually get it to go but the atmosphere is very modern with high ceilings, bright colors and big windows to let the sun shine in. You can also get wine or beer with your meal and eat outside. I always get the same thing, Combination Kabob #2, with Adas rice, Spanakopita and side of Tzatziki, but the burger and Gyros looks great as well. Lots of Vegetarian options as well. Been here about 4 times since they opened and have been very satisfied with the taste and quality of the food each time. Yes, they do tend to take a while to get your food ready; that's probably because it is made fresh. We now only call ahead and go pick up after 20-25 mins. That way we are not waiting and the food is still hot. They did mess up our order once and didn't include salad but they just added a free salad the next time we went there. So can't complain. Everyone who has taken our orders so far has been friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the items on the menu, providing good recommendations. Our favorite items are the Chicken doner wrap, the gyros plate, falafel, tabbouleh and zereshk polo. I love the kebab shop in Encinitas. This one is much closer and I will be going back. Rice is excellent kebabs were very good. I do wish they had some of the sides the kebab shop offers like the carrots. One thing I have to mention that I don't like about this place and what I see often now at point of sale is a field that pops up during signature offering you the opportunity to leave a tip. I feel that when you're taking food out of a restaurant as a takeout you should not be pressured to leave a tip. Nice to see something open in this space, but it was as I feared; overpriced and mediocre. The reviews lauding the service must have been joking. There is no service, really. You order at a counter and pay, then they bring you your food. My gyros took 10 minutes. You'll likely never see anyone again. (Yet they solicit you for a tip when you pay!) My gyros with fries was $8.95. The fries were hot and plentiful; the gyros was neither. A very skimpy portion of meat . . . The price would be very reasonable IF they served a decent portion of the gyros! This is their first week open, so hopefully things will improve. A nice little go to spot for some quick Mediterranean. Combo platter was large but a 14$ price tag reflected that. Though large, the carry out container was FILLED with rice. Best kabob place I've been to; big portions, great chicken and salads. Great falafel and sauces. Great service. It's a new go-to for us. One complaint about the TVs on the walls- the lights hang down in front of the TVs and it blocks the view. Not that important, but you asked for critical comments. Only giving this place two stars because the first time I went (Carmel valley location) the food was delicious. Everything tasted great and was fresh. This last time I went the food was so dry both the chicken and the gyros, it was terrible. And then we also ordered extra pita and the pita was so hard and crunchy, was not good. I also think they should include olives and feta cheese in their salad, otherwise it's just lettuce, onion, tomato, cucumber. They need to step it up a bit here at the Carlsbad location. read more

In a word, "disappointing." We ordered through door dash- we ordered pita, extra cucumber, hummus, and garlic sauce. It was ultimately just really disappointing. There wasn't much- if any- seasoning to the rice, if there was any cucumber at all, it was gently waved over the food while it was prepared, and the doner was on lavash, which was unpleasantly dry. We got the baklava, too- which was unpleasant. The flavor was good! But it was totally old. Somehow, they ruined every good thing about baklava. Loving Mediterranean food, I decided to check out Kabob Lounge for dinner. The restaurant was very nice and clean, it had very beautiful colors and it really is a comfortable place for family and kids to come. While inside, scanning through the menu deciding what to get, the staff was great on explaining the menu in detail, and helped me figured out what I really wanted. Not only that, but they were very nice and welcoming. Long story short, choosing chicken kabob platter as my entree was one of the best I've had in a while. The food here is very authentic and fresh, it was unreal how great it was, I recommend anyone to come and enjoy one of the best Mediterranean food in town. No doubt about it, I will definitely come back soon. Came down to Carlsbad today, and decided to try out kabob lounge Carlsbad for the second time. Near my haircut spot so I'll come here every few weeks. Very filling but I do not feel heavy. Sports (yawn) on the TV but I came for the food. Animal channels are not controversial, just saying. The food is ok. Some of the servers are outstanding and you can tell that they really care, others seem to care less. The 2 sauce limit was a little annoying for me. If I order a wrap I like 2 yogurt sauce cups and a hot sauce cup. I have to pay an extra 50c for hot sauce. Maybe I'm being cheap but all things being equal I'll take an extra 5 minutes and head over to Luna Grill instead of dealing with these kinds of policies. read more
