This family run restaurant is amazing. We had a carryout because of the quarantine. My husband had the Bouillabaisse and I had the Crispy salmon. Both were prepared perfectly. I recently had my baby shower at Bistro le Bliss and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Yakov, the chef and owner, and his wonderful family (Julie, Ellie, and Alex) went above and beyond to make my day really special. As someone who missed her own baby shower 4 years ago (my baby ended up coming early and ON the day of my shower!), it truly meant so much that they helped make THIS one extra special. My husband and I met with Yakov a few weeks prior to discuss what we wanted and approximately how many people would be attending, etc. He suggested the menu after some input from me and told me not to worry - that he'd take care of everything. I emailed him with any updates to the guest list or if I had any questions and he was always so prompt and helpful in his replies. A few days before the shower, hubby and I went back to Bistro le Bliss just to refresh our memories regarding its layout so that we could get a better idea of what we would do for decorations and how things would be set up. Yakov had brought his lovely wife Julie along to help us and offer any suggestions. We came in really nervous that afternoon about the impending big day but left much calmer, thanks to Yakov and Julie. So the big day finally arrived... and how did it go? Without a hitch and better than my wildest dreams! We arrived 1.5 hours early to decorate the restaurant and on hand was Julie, her sister Ellie, and Yakov & Julie's daughter Alex. They all worked so hard helping us with the decorations and setting up the restaurant and we finished just in time as the first of our guests came sauntering in. When Yakov told me at our initial meeting and in subsequent emails and visit not to worry - he promised he'd take care of everything - he really meant it. The food (which was set up buffet style to accommodate ~25 people) was absolutely delicious and unlike the run-of-the-mill fare you get everywhere else. It truly was a feast and everything was so fresh and so scrumptious! (All our guests raved about it, too - and couldn't believe this gem of a restaurant had flown under their radar!) We had set up a do-it-yourself mimosa bar but Ellie and Julie acted as bartenders and made the drinks for our guests exactly as ordered. Our drinks were refilled promptly and our plates cleared away when the we were finished so things were always neat and tidy. At the end of it all, they packed leftovers for any guests who wanted to take home a doggie bag and boxed up whatever was left for us to take home. (We has delicious leftovers for a week and since the food was so fresh and handled with utmost care and the highest standards of food safety, none of it went bad before we could finish it all! ) I know this review is long but I wanted to write Yakov, his family, and his wonderful restaurant a review that was worthy of all the hard work and dedication they put into giving this mom-to-be-again the baby shower of her dreams. Bistro le Bliss deserves all the accolades and more! I rarely write reviews or rave about anything because I'm usually not a write-a-review type of person. But for Bistro le Bliss I had to come out of my comfort zone and make an exception. If you are throwing a party for a special event in your life, look no further than Bistro le Bliss! You will not find a better venue to host an intimate gathering of the people you love and who love you back to celebrate with you! (And if you're just looking for a charming restaurant which serves delicious, fresh, unique fare in which to dine whenever, look no further! ) Some other helpful things to know: *Bistro le Bliss is (usually) closed on Sundays. This is so that you can book your private party which means you won't have to share the restaurant with anyone else. This was so perfect for us because we weren't crammed into a "private" room in the back or anything. It was just us and our guests and we felt like VIPs! *There is a kid's menu, too, in case you are worried about a picky eater. *They really will go out of their way to help you in any way they can. I asked if it was possible to have some white tablecloths and they got some in time especially for my shower! I just ate here last night, the place is very quaint and the service was top notch. The menu is vast with so many delicious options. I had the crispy salmon on an acorn squash puree. It was amazing. The bread was so good too, it was hard not to eat more than one serving. The desserts looked so good but I was to full. A great place for the area. If you an a non conformist foodie who prefers small places where the menu is unique and the the owners are friendly and approach you, then this place is for you. I went with my wife and my four children for dinner. The owners were so nice and welcoming. They accommodated us immediately. We had two baskets of fresh warm bread. The kids and adult menus have great verities. Kids meals and adult meals were delicious. We had the white fish and the entrecôte. The salted caramel mocha ice cream was a great treat. This was our first time dining at this lovely little restaurant. Our waiter Jonathan was very helpful and friendly we received great service. We went with our waiters suggestions The nightly special Walleye and the bouillabaisse. Both meals were delicious and nicely presented not swimming in sauce. Wow! What a find! This is a little gem that has a French inspired menu. The West Bloomfield onion soup is delicious. What makes it West Bloomfield? A matzo ball instead of a slice of bread! Delicious! One of our main courses was pot au feu. The beef was so tender you didn't need a knife. Also, the beef stroganoff was outstanding. The sauce was full of mushrooms, onions, and tenderloin pieces served over pasta. Yum! For dessert we opted for the Michigan tart cherry strudel served with two scoops of ice cream. How delicious to have tart cherries in a flaky pastry! Overall this was a great dinner, and we look forward to another visit soon. read more

So this place serves very traditional, mostly French (with a spattering of other European) dishes. The food is prepared surprisingly well, like way better than you'd expect from such a small casual place. There's actually a bit of a weird disconnect between the (super casual, almost diner-like) atmosphere and the (classic, elegantly-plated) food -- but don't let that stop you from going in, because if this is the kind of food you're looking for, it's legit good, the service is friendly, and the prices are more than reasonable. read more

Working late and ordered the Michigan Bistro salad and Entrecote de Provence to take home and share with my husband. It was delicious. I love to cook and it was definitely beyond my expectation. Prime strip loin came with a morel bordelaise sauce that was amazing! The Roquefort on the salad seemed to be whipped, the roasted beets were a perfect compliment. I heard a lot of good things about Bistro Le Bliss from friends and finally had lunch there. It was Tuesday about 12:30 p.m., there were about 6 customers. We had very good prompt service, the place was clean and bright. We had a cup of French onion soup with a matzo ball, a cup of ratatouille soup, a small classic Caesar salad, nicoise quinoa salad, a basket with hot delicious ciabatta rolls. All the dishes were beautifully plated, very tasty with classic flavors and balance. The caesar dressing was excellent, the best I have tasted in years, flavorful, the amount just right. The cup of ratatouille soup was hearty with perfect seasoning. The French onion soup was surprisingly light, with rich classic flavor and the matzo ball was fluffy and delightful. Came on a Friday evening prime dinner time and had to wait about 10-15 minutes for a table for 2. Server Jonathan was friendly and made several suggestions after giving us yummy warm rolls and butter. French onion soup was delicious- not too salty which is a common problem and tomato bisque which was rich and flavorful. The ragu was also rich and flavorful and the filet was well cooked and a lovely dish. Creme brûlée was a great ending and full of vanilla beans - a cup of decaf would have been great but was never suggested. Wondering if the restaurant is trying to get a liquor license- this kind of food just calls for a glass of wine. Will definitely be back! read more

This is a newer French restaurant in my neighborhood. What a pleasant surprise! For a fairly small place seating no more than 35 or so people, there is a large and varied menu. We had the lobster salad which was excellent with bib lettuce obviously made to order rather than premade and sitting around all day. The portion was generous and the dressing "Louie" was great. But the pièce de résistance is the Coq au Vin, another quite generous portion easily enough for two to share. Service was excellent and the ambience was simple but inviting. I understand that a liquor license is pending. I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation And, to be sure, I hope they are successful because this will be on our list of regular places.They are open for lunch from 11 to 5 and then dinner until 11 PM every day except Sunday when they are closed all day. And I almost forgot-- be sure not to miss the tart cherry dessert with vanilla ice cream. It was wonderful and easily enough to feed two. We ate there last night and it was enough for four. read more
