I had a fantastic brunch at this place on Sunday; so good that I'm returning for dinner with a friend tonight. I'm in the area for work and this restaurant was highly recommended by my hotel staff. My brunch consisted of coffee, a Bloody Mary (they have a Bloody Mary custom checklist with lots of options) and fried oyster eggs Benedict. All awesome. The staff did a great job. Efficient and friendly. Here's hoping my second experience is as good or better than my first! ...and it was! This was a huge unexpected surprise. We happened to be in the area and searched for restaurants for a quick lunch. Bistro603 popped up with some great reviews so we decided to try it. We were seated immediately and had a terrific sever. She was very attentive and made suggestions for my wife to eat. I ordered the Veggie Crunch Wrap Tacos. Two hard taco shells, soft flour tortillas, sauteed mushrooms & vegetables, avocado, pico de gallo, pepper jack cheese, sweet potato strands. My wife had the short rib tacos. Both VERY fresh and delicious. The menu is perfect. A little variety of everything for everyone. My only wish was that they had another sister restaurant on the Seacoast. The burger patty smelled like sour fish. I brought it to their attention when they asked "how's the burger". I had left the patty exposed on the plate because I had deconstructed the burger to find the smelly culprit. They replied, ohhh, that's surprising. Then cleared my plate into the trash. Got a take out order of the duck breast and confit leg because the restaurant was a 6 minute walk from my hotel. Portion was nicer than expected with brussels sprouts and butternut squash, both delicious. The duck itself was tender and cooked well, but the demi glace looked and tasted overdone, like it had been burnt. Without the demi glace it was still ok, but not a knock out of the park. Shame, because I think a good demi-glace would have really brought everything together. I'd try this place again if I am in the area, but nothing to write home about after this initial try. read more

Easy enough...right? Fifty minutes later (yes 50) I'm still staring at the empty and dirty placemat in front of me. I watched 4 couples, that ordered after we did, get their food and finish the meal. When our food arrived it wasn't edible. It was a slapped together and soggy mess. In addition, the two bites I took were like licking a salt lick. Hosted my bridal brunch here in the private room and everything was perfect! Kaitlyn was so easy to work with and coordinate my event. We were able to come an hour before they opened to set up the decor and they had my signature drink ready to go when all my girls arrived. Service was excellent and so was the food. Pros: The food took a bit to arrive but it was very good! There were a lot of items to choose from on their menu. Options for everyone! Cons: We went there for brunch around 10am, and the music was ridiculously loud, you'd think you were at a night club. The coffee was lukewarm, even after mentioning it and getting a fresh cup. I noticed that they don't keep the caps on their coffee pots that's most likely why it doesn't hold the temperature, even if it's seating on the burner. Also, our server had a large table going as well, so we had to ask others for help and wait a while for everything such as drinks, sauces, to-go boxes and bill. I would give the place another try because of the food and hope for a better overall experience. read more

This is an odd restaurant to pin down. Its location makes it feel like just another pub. However, inside, it's trendy. The menu seems to elevate trendy and exotic comfort foods. But, in the end, the execution fell flat -- and was excellent, all at the same time. The wings were well executed but not particularly yummy. The tacos were well executed, but not special or especially enticing. Technically, the food is great. But, anecdotally, it didn't excite me in a way which makes me want to return. Eh. The menu is super eclectic, which drew us in, but there were missteps throughout the meal. We were seated promptly as we had reservations in a requested booth. We started off with some adult, and kiddie, beverages. If I'm paying $10 for a drink, I should be able to taste it. To their credit, when I noted the lack of spirits, my second drink was much better. The apps were best part of the meal. The short rib Mac and cheese was so creamy and flavorful. Not much short rib but the pasta made up for it. The steak egg rolls were also very tasty and every bit worthy of my cheat meal. For entrees, the adults had tacos. My tuna tacos were ok. If the ratios were better, they'd have been outstanding. The tuna was fresh, but there was way too much avocado (and I love avocado!) and not enough of the slaw on top, which totally made the taco. The short rib taco was good but not as dynamic in flavor as it promised. Now the kids meals...a cheese pizza and a pepperoni pizza. Neither kid liked it (and although not the target audience, the adults agreed they were inedible). We ended up at a fast food joint to feed them after a triple digit bill which is obviously not a ringing endorsement. All in all, there are bright spots here and I definitely see why there are high reviews but there is room for improvement...in more than a few ways. read more

Food was great, service was less than satisfactory. Waitress was very unhelpful and seemed put out when asking for item I had already asked for. Also my order paper was left under my fries. Talked with manager and felt nothing would be done about the waitress. Will not be going back. It is too bad as the food was great. I asked for an ice tea with a lemon and she said it was brewing. I just wanted know how long it would take for it to be ready. She was not to happy to have to check on that. I was willing to wait, she said it would be about 20 minutes. I was ok with that as the meals were being prepared. She seemed to not understand and got frustrated. I asked for ice and it seemed to bother her as well. Then after my husband got upset and asked her about the ice tea, she brought it over without the lemon. She said it was being cut at the bar and would bring it later. My husband after a while asked her about it again and she then brought it to us stuck to a napkin. This was really poor customer service. I just wanted you to understand. We had never been to your establishment and we're excited. Honestly this is the first bad review I have given and it makes me sad. I hope you understand and I hope if you were out at a restaurant you not want to be treated that way. We visited Bistro603 this weekend. Once at our table, we were greeted right away and asked what we wanted to drink. I needed a minute since I had not had a chance to look at the menu. Unfortunately, we didn't see the waitress again for at least 10 minutes. We quickly ordered drinks and the Steakbomb Eggrolls as an appetizer when she returned. When the drinks arrived my martini was slightly warm. As for the eggrolls, the flavor was good but the meat was a bit chewy. For entrees, we ordered the Fried Seafood Platter, Short Rib Crunch Wrap Tacos, and the Bistro Cheeseburger. The Seafood Platter was very salty and the breading was soft, as if it had been sitting awhile. The flavor of the short rib taco was very good but it was served lukewarm. The burger could have used more seasoning but was cooked perfectly for medium. What really bothered us was that we were charged $1 each for asking for a side of aioli and another side of salsa. The salsa that came with the tacos was a small amount served in a small plastic cup. It was only $2 but for the price of the food at this establishment, they should not be charging for additional condiments. Regrettably, we will not be returning. read more
