Until now, Nashua has never had a good soul food restaurant. After going to college in Tennessee, I grew to love food from the southern US. Since my wife was busy with other things, I decided to drive downtown and try this restaurant. The restaurant is located in the lobby of an office building with ample free parking outside. When you walk inside, you notice the restaurant is very large. They don't seem to have enough tables to fill the room. Although the owner is from Nashua, her grandparents were from Alabama. As a result, she has access to many Alabama recipes that were passed down through the generations. I got there early and the food for later in the day was not yet ready. She offered to pull together an off-menu soul plate especially for me. Around 15 minutes later my food and iced tea was delivered to my table. It consisted of a fried chicken breast, carrots, mashed potatoes and cornbread. The taste was very good, especially the fried chicken. I had a nice chat with the owner's father while I ate. He was at the restaurant helping his daughter with some of the cooking. Overall, this was a great lunch. We plan to return for dinner some night when she has the complete menu of authentic soul food. I can't wait to try the collard greens.

First time visiting. It was recommended by a childhood friend of the owner. I was greeted when I came in and the service was extremely friendly and welcoming. It was mentioned that everything is homemade, except for the "Snack Box." Everything was packed with flavor! I also like that they give back to the community (see attached pics). The food was not what I expected. The mac & cheese had no cheese and it was basically noodles, the sweet potato I assumed was candy yams, but it was just mashed sweet potato, and the chicken for some reason tasted like sausage and it did not taste like real jerk chicken. It was just a chicken breast that was grilled. And I'm pretty upset about the sausage taste because now it has me wondering if it was cooked with pork or something and I don't eat pork and it's a pretty strong sausage taste because I can still taste it. I'm really not sure what that is about. It was very disappointing. I really wanted to like this place and I'm sure it has potential but I think they may need a new cook because it was just not it. read more

For soul food you can't get any better. The waitress was kind, friendly and accommodating. The ambience was warm and inviting. More importantly the food came out pippin hot, delicious and enough for two meals, not to mention their incredible desserts. What impressed me the most was the giving board. If you're hungry and don't have money, one can take a recipe off the board and that recipe pays for purchase. That's giving back to the community. That's one reason including others why Soel Sister will continue to have my business. read more

I was asked to dj an event at Soel Sistas restaurant for a graduation party. The people were bringing in their own food. I was so sad because I saw so many wonderful reviews. When I told Kendra, the owner, she stated that they were still serving take out and would create an 'off the menu' sampler, since everything sounded so wonderful. Everything was on point! i went there on a friday night it was the worst service ive ever had, the food took 35 mins to come out yet tasted like microwave food, no flavor at all, false advertising, definitely didnt taste like any grandmother would be cooking i wouldnt recommend ur place to anyone. your fake personality n it showed through tht fake smile, u should honestly bring in a real chef instead of claiming u r one, the floor look like it hasnt been sweeped in days or mops table were nasty didnt look like anyone has cleaned them in weeks. if ur going to run a RESTAURANT DO BETTER read more

Wanted to try this location but the address listed did not have any signage related to a restaurant. Arrived before the Yelp posted closing hours to a large empty parking lot which looked like it was for a functional hall or senior rec center. I immediately called the # listed on Yelp because I drove 40 mins just to experience the flavor. I left a message for the owner hoping she would provide additional information before I headed back home, however now it's been several weeks later, my call has yet to be returned. read more

I have been here more than once now and the value and quality of the food is fantastic.My son and I had Kendra's tacos on Tuesday and everything was fresh and tasted great.I had previously been there for her Fried chicken and here empanadas , both were delicious.This is a hidden gem in Nashua.Support this great local small business.The prices here are probably the best value in the city.Kendra is great.Looking forward to returning to try something else. read more

Visited for the first time on Friday. We had the catfish dinner and the chicken breast dinner. Both with Mac and cheese and collard greens. I've been searching for a good soul food restaurant since moving to the area. I've found the spot!!! All the food was fresh and delicious. We will be returning soon. read more

This is literally the best fried chicken I have ever had in my life. PERIOD! I lived in Columbia, South Carolina for 6 years, and this is anything I had in that entire state, North Carolina, or even Georgia for that matter. I can say the same about the collards and the potato salad. Not only is it the best potato salad I've ever had, but my wife, who really doesn't like potato salad, can't stop shoveling it in her mouth. You can absolutely taste the soul in this food. Love Soel Sistas--they have been a lifesaver for us in 2020! We have done outdoor distanced events with our family and they have been flexible and happy to create individual meals so we can avoid any buffet-style food to be covid friendly. Me and my family enjoyed a soul food dinner provided by Kendra and it was so delicious!! Everyone loved everything. The inside was cramped with tables positioned tight to each other. The food was very good. We ordered their fried calamari for a starter ap. It was a smallish portion but light, tender, and tasty with their Marinara on the side. Entrees took a while as they were quite busy with the dining rooms full and an hour wait for walk ins. I had their veal saltimbocca. It was fresh, tender, and flavorful. My wife had her go to shrimp scampi and said it was also very good. Others in the party were equally happy with their dinners although my daughter thought the veal in her veal marsala was just slightly on the tough side. Service was excellent. We will go back as my wife and I am anxious to try their parmigianas, for me the veal, and for her the eggplant.

The cold brew is very good and they can add any flavors if you like! They also have a nice looking display of pastries and cookie. They serve breakfast and lunch but we always stop for coffee. All this gives it that "cheap" somewhat trashy Nashua feel. Still, an okay location to hang and listen to tunes for a snack, coffee or a break.
