Western burger with fries ($9) and an iced chai latte ($5)
    Michaela W.

My latte was okay. Burger was tasteless and fries unsalted. $16 for a burger, small fries, and a drink was pretty steep, but I wouldn't have minded if it had any quality to it. Wouldn't recommend. If you're in a pinch for a caffeine fix and have plenty of cash, I suppose it would be an alright spot.

Bites is an office building café, and it accomplishes everything it is meant to. The food is prepared quickly. The staff is friendly. There is a wide variety of items to choose from on the menu. There is a full coffee bar, a nice selection of pastries, and there are always interesting specials of the day in addition to the regular menu items. The food itself is okay--not fantastic, not terrible. The regular coffee is good, and here's a tip: FREE REFILLS ALL DAY! Why even bother ordering the large size? It makes no sense. A few more specific things about the food. The chorizo burrito is good, but I find the huge block/chunk of queso fresco off-putting. Usually, people crumble queso fresco. The way Bites does it, it looks like a big piece of Styrofoam. The other breakfast burrito is good, but I found that they put all the bacon bits at the bottom (and there isn't much). The rice bowls are okay, too. The rice is a little bit overly sticky, but the general flavor of the veggies and meat are decent. I haven't tried the sandwiches or salads yet, but they look good. Overall, I come to Bites because of the convenient location near my office.

Bites Sausage breakfast bowl, minus the sausage.

I really like the food from this place, I work right next door too. I really hate that something is always wrong with my order. My colleagues and I ordered online, when I got my food it was missing the sausage in my breakfast bowl. I hate not getting what I pay for. They need to pay attention to the orders, they added a few pieces of turkey and that's not what I asked for. This is very annoying, I may not return anymore.

    Quinoa Salad

Maybe a 3.5 stars but slim picking. The quinoa salad was massive and and pretty filling. Wouldn't say it's a salad, was more like a pound of quinoa topped with lettuce. The burger on the other hand was pretty forgettable. Deli food, who can blame.

As far as lunch goes in Westwood this place is better than most. The quinoa salad was very generous, enough for 2 petite ladies but suffice for a 200 pound gentleman. Using highfalutin gourmet language, the salad had a good bite from the piquant lemon juice dressing with a nice hint of salt from the goat cheese and chopped chicken. The cucumber bits gave it a nice crunch throughout. In other words it was delicious.

Yeah, this place sucks... weird owner included. I work in the building so I want this place to be awesome and yes, it is an improvement from the Organic to Go disaster but not by much. The over simple menu combined with high prices is what is going to kill this place. The coffee... OH MY GOD, is horrible. I'm not sure what happened to the taste buds of the previous reviewer but the coffee tastes like cardboard. AND, this is the general consensus of the entire company I work for. The meatball sandwich will leave you feeling like a cement truck dumped a load into your stomach. The tiny little pizzas are the only redeeming value to this place.

Great sandwich spot! All their bread is made fresh daily and salads are on point. Customer service is great, family owned restaurant with friendly employees. I will definitely be coming back to try out breakfast.

I am very surprised with the reasonable prices, the L.A. Area is usually very expensive. I am going to put this on my radar no doubt!!!!

Place still sucks, but thought I would mention that they are back to an "A" rating. Oddly enough, it is now prominently displayed.

Their mozzarella sandwich is a masterpiece with Fresh Ovoline Mozzarella, Avocado, Alfalfa Sprouts, Pickled Red Onion and a delicious Za'atar Spread. What makes it stand out as one of the best sandwiches in LA is the bread. They make their own focaccia several times a day and it is divine. Probably the only other place that can dare to match their creations is La Zucca at the Beverly Hills Cheese Store. Some of our other favorites is the tuna sandwich. Service is always on point and the sandwich travels well for consuming it at home. There isn't a ton of space to sit, but there is some counter style seating. Tip: Their menu is limited by choice. Check their Daily specials (Sandwich of the Day) for inspiration. They have 3 kids sandwiches (all are meat based). Tip: The biggest challenge is parking, sometimes metered parking is available. Otherwise, park for free in neighborhood streets away from Montana. It's a pleasant walk.

We liked it so much that we made a plan to come back next week. So we went to today and I ordered a BLT with turkey added, no problem. My girlfriend asked for the veggie wrap in a sandwich form and the guy at the register said "we don't do modifications". My girlfriend responded by saying they were able to do it last time so could you check. He looked fairly new and had trouble putting in my order in the register since I modified it by adding turkey. So he went to the back and just asked, do we do modifications? To which the guy in the back said no. She's vegan and that's all she can have off the menu so she ended up not getting anything and she was bummed since she really liked the sandwich they made last time. So we won't be coming back here and this place gets one star based on the customer service. It's a sandwich shop, if it's an extra charge to put a veggie wrap into a sandwich no problem. But the hard NO when it was made last time is PRETTY LAME for a sandwich shop not being able to make a veggie sandwich.

My friend and I got the Cuban and the Combo Grinder to share, and I thought both were very well seasoned, well packed with food, and very delicious. The cost of these sandwiches is a bit pricy, but I think they're worth the splurge to try every now and then. I also have to shout out the service at this location. I came around 15 minutes to closing when the staff was getting ready to clean up, and they still happily took my order and got it out quickly and without errors. I really appreciated that!

The focaccia bread was perfectly crunchy yet airy, and the Calabrian sauce delivered just the right amount of heat. The sandwich came generously stacked with turkey, making the roughly $15 price point feel well worth it. Again, these sandwiches are loaded-- I finished the whole thing in one sitting because it was that good, though honestly, half would be more than enough to satisfy most people. The service was fast, friendly, and welcoming. I was greeted immediately upon walking in, which always sets a great tone. Highly recommend stopping by Bread Head if you're in the area. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Westwood.
