It was a nice surprise to see this place in Forest Grove. The menu was interesting, and I recommend that they have more vegetarian options. The atmosphere was nice, and the food was good. I thought that they were a little bit overpriced for their small plates, and I think that having a happy hour with reduced prices would be really beneficial. The service was pretty good. I think this place has a lot of potential, but it definitely isn't priced for college students nor for a place to grab a quick bite and a drink. It would also be nice to have an À la cart menu and more vegetable options. The food is pretty heavy, and it would be nice to have some vegetables with it. read more

Wow! The food was so delicious. We had the dumplings which are vegetarian but you would never know it. We then moved on to the crab bites which were served in the big white spoons with a delicious sauce. Next up was the cucumber salad with a dressing that literally had my husband drinking the leftover dressing from the bowl. Our main entree was the Risotto with prawns, absolute perfection. We were in town headed to see a play at Theatre in the Grove and thought we would give this place a try, we were blown away by the deliciousness of the food. The service was good, It would be nice if they were a little more observant - when my husband spilled part of his drink the server saw but didn't offer a towel or extra napkins. I think the staff has very good intentions but they are just on the cusp of really getting down how to go the extra mile for their guests. read more

Stopped in after wine-tasting and sampled the small bites. Have to say that they were delicious!The tempura avocado is incredibly tasty. Happy hour beef tacos were very satisfying and perfectly cooked. Also had the gyoza (recommended by the owner's son) and the mozzarella egg rolls (a fun take on fried mozzarella with a tasty Asian dipping sauce) Perfect compliment to our wine tasting. This restaurant made it to the top of the list when I was planning my visit to Forest Grove. Simply from their Instagram, to their reviews and to all the photos posted on Yelp, I had to see what was so great about this new restaurant. First of all, the interior of the place is modern/rustic feel with wooden panels along their walls. I was greeted with a very cheery, welcoming face. I wanted to sit closer to the window where my server happily accommodated. I got the mint sweet tea (for free for checking in!) which I absolutely loved. I also ordered the seoul dumplings and the spicy ramen. The seoul dumplings were ok..maybe because I grew up in a household where I have home-made dumplings before. Sure, the seoul dumplings were cute but definitely not worth the $6 for 4 dumplings. The spicy ramen on the other hand was good but I wish there was more variety in the bowl - at least have half an egg in there! Atmosphere: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Food: 3/5 I was kind of bummed that they didn't have an Asian inspired dessert which I definitely would have ordered if they did. Overall, great service and interior. Their menu is diverse ranging from burgers, to ramen, and even to Asian fusion pastas! I would definitely come back to try their udon carbonara or whatever Asian inspired pastas they have. Wow, Bites glutened me badly and didn't even apologize. The menu has cute colored dots designating things gluten free, vegan, and spicy (check out the menu on their website to see this in action). Upon closer look, the labeling seemed haphazard and some GF-labeled items, like udon noodles, were things usually made with gluten. I asked our server what was up and she said, "If it says gluten free it is." I insisted we talk to the chef, because things weren't making sense. Turns out, ALL the things labeled gluten free actually contain gluten. Including the appetizer I had just eaten. Thanks. The chef actually said, "if you can't eat gluten, you probably shouldn't eat here." Which is fine--I don't need to be able to eat everywhere--but it's really not cool to specifically label things as free of an allergen when they are FULL of said allergen. This seems obvious. They also handled the whole thing really poorly and seemed not to care they'd made me ill. This feels like an afterthought, but they also didn't have most of the wines and beers on their bar list. read more

I had a 6:00 reservation for two on a Friday night. I arrived 5 minutes early. The staff didn't acknowledge that we had arrived. Ten minutes in I went and asked a women working at the bar about our reservation. She said, oh yeah, sit over there and pointed to a table. We sat for 30 minutes with not one member of staff stopping At the table, brining water or asking if we had question. Forty minutes in we got up and left. read more

The food was spectacular. My friend and I were very impressed. Randomly this cute delicious place is in old Forrest Grove of all places. I understand they were understaffed when we came (had a NOW HIRING) sign on the window, but the server who worked during this time was very calm, polite, professional and went as quick as she could. I'm giving 2 stars which I think is fair. We went for dinner last night. Ordered using a QR code, paid and tipped through the app prior to getting our food.I prefer to tip based on service after the meal and not prior to eating and being served. We were there 30 minutes and had not received our food yet. There were four tables that came in and were seated AFTER we were that were getting food served to them. When I inquired about our food, she checked and said it would be there shortly and that the others got their food first because they ordered appetizers. I've never seen this before. Our dinner was not started because four parties that came in AFTER we placed our order, ordered appetizers? We continued to wait, a waitress brought us 4 small pieces of bread and butter so we "didn't get hungry". 10 minutes later, they brought out the Fried Avocado Tacos. The dish was good, but it seemed to be nothing more than sliced avocado rolled in some crunchy stuff. It was okay but why did it take 40 minutes to make this? I also did not like that there was a charge for cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. every single item you add on, you had to pay for, why not just include it in the price and be done with it. This was my order by the way, and since they hadn't brought out my husbands food, I shared it with him. 10 minutes later, they brought out his food while I sat an patiently waited for my other item. He had the Korean BBQ chicken tacos, they had a nice flavor. He got a couple of spicy bites, but i didn't experience anything spicy in any of the food I ate. about 10 minutes later, my second dish came to the table, it was the Kalbi Taquitos. This was my favorite dish for the night, I really enjoyed it and I would order it again. It was getting late and I didn't get to finish my meal but I took it home to enjoy later. The staff was very nice and pleasant. But I have to say we were just very disappointed at getting pushed to the end of the line for our dinner because other people came in and ordered appetizers. It was very apparent and quite obvious that our food did not get started for at least 30 minutes after we placed our order, when we finally inquired about the food. First off, I get it, it's a college town but honestly the service here is terrible. It might of been due to being understaffed but the fact that I have to get up from my seat and walk over to the bar to get an employee's attention is just ridiculous. After all the great reviews that I had read, i was very dissapointed. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and let's just say a packaged ramen that you can purchase for a dollar at the supermarket would have tasted better. I'm sure the cook placed their heart and soul into the dish but I do apologize, it really does need some work. The pork that came with it was pure fat and chewy. The noodles were undercooked and the broth did not taste right. My friend got the rice bowl with the short ribs and majority of the bowl was rice. The menu said it would come with Kimchi and it was missing from the bowl when it came to the table. Apparently the cook that day was just forgetting what went into the food because the lady next to us also had stuff missing on her plate that the menu stated should be on the plate. The design of the place is very nice and contemporary but I wouldn't come back here due to the service and food. It also wasn't price friendly, especially for the service and food quality. I would definitely skip this place and try somewhere else. Pac thai is a really good that restaurant that I wished I would of gone too instead. read more

The food and service I received from this restaurant was TERRIBLE! I ordered through postmates. When my food arrived it was not what I ordered. The special dietary order my daughter requires was not followed and my dinner was missing the chicken I ordered. I called the restaurant, and the OWNER answered. I explained my daughters dietary issues and my order being wrong and she said she would have it remade but I had to wait 20 minutes because she had another order. I went down to the restaurant after 20 mins and sat down and that's when the owner put my order in. I heard the cook explain how the order (put in by the owner) was put in wrong. She finally handed me my food and said she was sorry her cook messed it up. I got home and gave my daughter her burger, only to find out the burger was raw and COLD in the center. I went back to the restaurant with the burger and the owner explained it was her staffs fault and she would refund me the burger. She asked me not to write a review. I use to love Bites. The old owners were AMAZING. I just wish the new ones would realize that people spend their hard earned money to eat there and you should treat people better. You lost my business but also everyone in town I talk to and show my raw burger to. The restaurant was completely empty tonight. There is a reason for that. read more

Was really excited to try this place after driving by it a few times and reading the yelp reviews and it was pretty disappointing. The tacos were flavorless, the kimchi fries were soggy and were not what I would expect from ordering kimchi fries, and the potstickers were cold. Reasonable prices, good food, good atmosphere, but sloooooowwww service. We went in, at about 6:20 pm, and there is no sign that states to wait to be seated or seat yourself. So unlike some idiots that we have seen, we waited as the restaurant was only about half full. That is not a good sign for a restaurant that has only been open two weeks. Finally, someone came over and sat us down. Took another 10 minutes to get water, and another 7-10 to order apps. Had the Kimchi Fries (sweet potato with kimchi sauce on the side), the Seoul Dumplings (with naturally brewed soy sauce and gluten free wraps), and the Kalbi Tacos (gluten-free tortillas) as apps. Overall pretty good, our little one devoured the sweet potato fries, but refused to dip in the Kim Chi sauce and wolfed down the Kalbi meat in the tacos, leaving me with a fairly empty vegetable taco with a few pieces of Kalbi. But should have ordered two orders if I didn't see that coming. The dumplings are similar in flavor to the ones I used to get when I was stationed in Korea. And the Kalbi Tacos were a tasty spin on Mexican/Asian fusion, though the wife thought them a little spice for her, so just a word of warning. We had the Seoul Noodles, All-American Burger, and the Kalbidon (with gluten free bread), as you can never get enough Kalbi. All were good, but the wife did state that the noodles were a little spicy, but they do denote that it may be on the menu. Overall the food was good and the staff friendly, but not completely knowledgeable and sloooowww, as in speed, not mental ability. It is interesting that some people didn't talk to the actual owners or their kids. True, that they could have prepared their staff better, but from what I understand the tortillas that they use are Gluten Free. One reviewer noted that they have marked their ramen as gluten free, that would be patently incorrect as you can see from their menu online the gluten free options do not have noodles in them. But they are listed with the Ramen & Soups...big emphasis on the "&". Also, all naturally brewed soy sauce is gluten free, probably not Non-GMO. However, if the soy sauce is made chemically, then there would be gluten present. But since I have not been diagnosed (not self diagnosed) with Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity, I will definitely be going back to be poisoned. read more

Absolutely delicious food! My fiancé and I got here right before happy hour ended. I got a cocktail (mojito) and an appetizer (dumplings). Super yummy. Salty and tangy veggie dumplings. For dinner we each had a burger mine was a jalapeño burger medium well and my fiancé's was a spicy kimchi burger with a fried egg medium. He really liked his burger as well. So delicious! We have eaten at Bites twice. The first was take out and the second was dine in. The food is great but the service was really slow on the dine in experience. My husband and I went with a group tonight. We only had appetizers, - we shared the Dynamite Nachos. They were delicious! A fun fusion of Korean and American food. The tortilla chips were crispy, the Sriracha aoli a perfect amount of spicy, and other toppings made it perfect. I also got to sample a friend's Kimchi Fries (sweet potato). They were good, too! The atmosphere is fun, the servers friendly. Good to see Forest Grove getting this kind of restaurant. Will definitely visit again. read more

As a long time customer of Bites we were terribly disappointed in our dining experience tonight. Since our last visit the menu has gone to scan code on your cell phone. As we have done this at several restaurants lately it was not a problem. What was a problem was the whole ordering process was done from cell phone, and the menu had been 'updated'. Prices do not appear to have changed, but all extras, like fries, are now extra add ins. We were required to pay by credit card prior to our order being placed. They have an added credit card fee & the tip was a preset amount(this probably could have been changed, but we were 'running late and just wanted our food. My husband's burger sans fries was good, but my Ramen was very salty with not much more than broth & noodles. There was a wait staff to deliver food & beverages, why not take orders & answer menu questions as well? read more

The kalbi is very good! And the spicy tonkotsu ramen is great if you can handle the spicy. I can't wait to try other things on the menu. The staff is very nice. Prices are great! Several reviews have complained about service, but it was find for me. But I was also the only person in the entire place. But anyways, food was decent. Wish I had gotten something other than the green beans as a small bite - it was a large serving for 1 person and I grew tire of them quickly despite being delicious. I had ginger tea that was excellent and topped off with the lava cake - perfect. One pet peeve - no menu prices for drinks and desserts. Feel it's a bit shady. Not a terrible experience. read more

It was good but too much favors in each dishes. The kimchi fries didn't taste like kimchi, not the fries itself or the sauce, but it was delicious. The nachos wasn't fulfilling, it had like a sweet taste. Lastly the Seoul udon noodles had a a lot of favor, enjoy it for the moment. The ice matcha tea was excellent that my sister order. I had the sweet mint tea but I'm sorry it was not even good and it wasn't a refreshing as I had expected . In addition I order the lemon drop martini, it taste a little strong. I think some of BITES servers already know this, but I love their Seoul Noodles! Although there can be a lot of veggies, it's a good balance with the amount of noodles and protein you get. It's a great meal for 1 person. :) I've tried their spicy ramen before, but it's not really the ramen I prefer because of the taste and the spicy flavor overpowering the broth. BITES has great service when dining in and taking out so overall I'd say give them a shot. I'm sure other people have had good experiences with other entrées they have on their menu too. read more

Ok my wife found this place. We were here for the music in may festival and needed a dinner spot and this was great. Great selections, great service, nice atmosphere. The coconut risotto was awesome with shrimp, we loved everything. Son got yhe 808 burger with waygu beef, daughter got the spicy ramen, wife had the crab cake bites & folf also gotvthe coconut risotto. We all cleaned our plates!! Great food and customer service ! The place is very cute. Spicy ramen is actually spicy, maybe more than a mild. Kimchi fries is just potato fries with a kimchi sauce on the side. Mango juice tastes like its freshly squeezed. The sweet mint tea was my first ever sweet mint tea and it's pretty good. read more

The restaurant itself has a wonderful warm atmosphere but the service was pretty bad. We ordered our drinks and waited at least 15-20 mins before they came. Our food was okay, it came out lukewarm as we watch it sit in the window then on the counter. There was only 2 or 3 other tables in the restaurant so it wasn't busy but deffinetly understaff and "green" employees. read more

Decided to try a new place to eat while my boyfriend was at work. I decided on just ordering some calamari appetizer to go, as I was not very hungry. Food was on time, when I went to pick it up. Staff was very friendly. Unfortunately when I got home and unpacked my calamari, I found that a lot of my calamari batter has fallen off the pieces. And when I was about mid-way into the dish I found a long hair in my food. Very unsanitary in the middle of a pandemic. Very disappointed. Will probably not be returning. read more
