I forget how good this place is. A wonderful neighborhood hang out with excellent food and homemade desserts. You couldn't ask for more - it's great! Pierogies are delicious but very expensive - 3 for $16. Wish that cost-value could change. Great addition to SoNo - it was a perfect fall day to lunch outdoors and their patio has full sun. Awesome and prompt service. Fun food and drink specials. My littlenecks were perfect, plump and the broth sooo good. Hubs had meatball parm which was devoured too quickly to snap a pic. The bread for his sammy and my garlic toast were the same soft yet crusty goodness to hold the heft of the meatballs and sop up the clam broth. Looking forward to making this a regular spot - especially since there was not one iota of grit in my clams!! That's 10 stars in my book! read more

Went recently with my wife for the first time, and pretty quickly realized it won't be our last. Friendly greetings as we walked in and it carried on from there. Ordered cocktails and apps to start. My martini was cold, balanced, and refreshing with just the right amount of vermouth for my liking. My wife loved her lemonade cocktail as well. Started with the clams casino and calamari. Both seasoned and cooked perfectly. Will definitely order again. We then shared the pork chop martini, which was suggested to us. Gotta say, I'm really glad we did. It was one of the best pork chops I've ever had. We decided to drink our dessert, once we saw the bourbon selection on the back bar. Many allocated bottles that I rarely see around town. Service was on point, and a few different people came to check on us, but never felt like we were interrupted or bothered. Excellent experience from beginning to end. This place used to be Partner's Cafe. It was a great place to meet for a few or more drinks and some quick food. It is still that place and more. There are only a few parking spots but most of the parking is on the street. There is an outdoor seating area which will be great on a nice day. Inside, the bar area is a decent size and welcoming and there are some high top tables in the bar which is where we sat. I would recommend reservations for dinner on the weekends. Our server was very helpful and attentive and the host was also checking on all the tables. We ordered seafood stuffed clams and fried calamari and I had a Balboa sandwich without the onions and my wife had a crock of French onion soup and Brussel sprouts sautéed in garlic and oil. I had a couple of Coors Lights which were only $5 each. First, they need to work on their timing. They brought us our main meal while we were barely half way thru the appetizer. The calamari was very good. Not heavily seasoned or salted. Nicely cooked and a very healthy serving size. The marinara sauce was also good. The seafood stuffed clams were very disappointing. They had no flavor. No briny flavor, no flavor in the breadcrumb mixture. I would not recommend these. Try something else as there were other choices. My wife said her French onion soup was very good and the Brussel sprouts were excellent. She definitely enjoyed both. My Balboa was good but needed something. I am not a fan of onions so maybe the onions would make it better for someone else. We saw the hamburgers served to the table next to us and they looked good. The dessert menu did not appeal to us. I am more of a chocolate layer cake fan (Sedona Taphouse has an awesome layer cake slice.) And they only had a flourless cake and my wife was interested in the apple cake but we asked to see it and it looked anemic. White apples in a pale yellow cake. Needed color. I.e. cinnamon or browned on top. All in all, I would go back on the way from the beach to grab a beer and something to eat. read more

Got the chicken pizza and there were so many pink spots inside. I've never felt so unsettled eating something especially since I am 32 weeks pregnant. Pretty much had to throw out the whole thing for precaution. I really like this place but I am actually really concerned about the quality of that chicken. Has anyone eaten this and noticed the same? If you like a great time and comfort food - this is a phenomenal place. the staff is great. The pro's are that it is rare to have a specials menu that updates as much as it does. Love the soup - It's amazing. It can be pricey for what you get but the experience is where the value is added. I don't agree with the negative posts on here but I think everyone agrees the main attraction is Carla the bartender. IMO. Great service. (Those negative reviews are probably from regulars that don't want you taking their seat at the bar.) If you're in the area do yourself a favor and come here. read more

BJ Ryan's East is an ANTI free speech establishment. I've been a regular for several months, and was told by management that I was banned because I was in a discussion with an individual that "management" didn't agree with. Never mind that the person I was talking with did not take offense with what I said and understood we did not look at the same thing the same way. According to "management" I was wrong and banned from ever setting foot in the building again. All I can say is go to Knot Norm's where the food is awesomely better and you are treated like a person. read more

Weak cocktails, service at bar tables and bit sloppy as I had to ask for the same things multiple times to different servers. No they were not too busy. Seems servers don't get along too well. I've been here a couple times now and every time it is a pleasant experience. The bar is stocked with not only all of your basics but even some more exotic selections like Japanese Whiskeys or more unknown bourbons. I personally enjoy eating at the bar at times, and I love the fact that even with a plate or two in front of me I never feel like cramped. Too often do I eat at the bar only to be bumped and prodded by other people, thankfully this place doesn't have that problem. The dining room is perfectly set up in a way that allows for maximum seating while still feeling spacious. The wait staff are amazing, well dressed and mannered. My favorite food choices would be their chicken sandwich, the ravioli, the original Partner's pizza, and the local clams. Definitely recommend. read more

Wow!! I went to BJ Ryans East last week for the first time and absolutely loved it! My server was on top of everything and the support staff was helping to take care of my family to make sure we were all set. The ambiance in the restaurant was very comfortable too! The dining room is spread out and separate from the bar side which was great for me and my kids. When the food came out we were happily surprised to see how big the portions are. The menu is also HUGE so we definitely have to go back and try more options. Overall, this place is on the come up and I will definitely be going back! read more

Poor customer service went there for a late lunch 5 empty tables outside and the head waiter told us they were all reserved..... turns out they weee all empty for over an hour. Waiter still defended his position. No way to run a restaurant!! I eat there 3 times a week and it will be awhile until I am back. Plenty of other choices in the area. read more
