By Far, The Worst Print Lab!!! I would suggest Costco, Kinkos, Target, Walgreens & Snapfish before ever mentioning BJ's ever again. This is now the second time I have been disappointed after using their services. The first time around, I had high expectations as I was referred to them by a fellow photographer. I sent them an Email with printing instructions and Payment info. I received no phone call, no Email. NOTHING. Then I decided to call to check on the progress of my order & was informed that they had not even looked over my order. The excuse was that they couldn't start the order before receiving a signed authorization to charge me for the work. BS!! This time around I was a lot more careful and made sure that all my ducks were in a row. I called them before Emailing my order. Reviewed the format in which I was saving the image file with the "tech" who was in charge of printing. Made a payment over the phone using my card, & waited on the line for them to receive payment authorization from my bank. I was very clear, both over the phone & in my Email instructions that the print colors were not to be altered in any way. I explained that I could export the image file in any format they wished (Photoshop PDF, Jpg, Png, etc...) and also specifically asked if they wanted me to export / Save in SRGB or Adobe RGB. I explained that I had issues with them in the past & wanted to ensure that nothing goes wrong this time since the print was for a client's event. The event is tomorrow, so there is no room for error. Long story short, after explaining everything I sent over the file as they requested & i also included a Jpeg of the image and reiterated the importance of getting the colors right & that I wanted the print to match the image in the Jpeg. I was quoted 8.99 for a matte print, then convinced to print on Poster paper as the quality would be better and the colors would be more vibrant. The price is now 29.99 (Great job with the up sell) I told the tech that I am driving from the opposite side of the valley and that it would take me a while to get there, so I would appreciate a call as soon as the print was ready so I could make it in to pick up my print before they close. (I also asked that they Email me back letting me know that they received my Email with the image file & that they were able to access it & that the colors matched the included Jpg file) THIS DIDNT HAPPEN. I called them 15 minutes after sending the file via Email and got confirmation that they received it and were able to see that the colors match the Jpg. I was told that I would receive a call as soon as the image was ready for pick up & that it should be done within the next 30 minutes or so. THIS DIDNT HAPPEN I waited an hour before contacting them to check on my order. The person who answered the phone informed me that my print had already been ready for about 20 minutes. I head over to BJ's to pick up my print & 45 minutes into my drive towards Glendale (Heavy Friday Traffic) I receive a call letting me know that my print was ready. When I asked why I was getting a call this late, & especially after I had already called and confirmed that my print was ready, my questions were ignored and the only response I received from them was that they close at 6 and I need to be there before they close. (Thanks) I arrive at BJ's & was presented with 2 prints. the first was great thick paper with an image of what looked like an alien baby with green skin. The second was a blown out version on cheap paper (I was told this was the better quality poster print). needless to say I couldn't use either print to present to a client. After about 30 minutes of fiddling with the settings on the printer, TOM, the tech was able to print a presentable image on the thick (8.99) paper. The colors were still off but would work for displaying it at the clients event. (I plan on reordering the print from my normal Lab & will replace the print for the client once i received the better quality print) at this point I was told by Mike, who I'm told is the owner, that I am responsible for paying for all the prints they had to do to try and get the colors right. SO LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT. The file I sent you appears to have correct colors on your computer. Yes The image has correct colors on your monitor. Yes When you Rip the file to the Printer, the image has correct colors. Yes When you print the image it comes out Green. Yes and this is my fault how???? After spending another 20 or so minutes trying to explain to this incompetent person the basics of business ethics, and saw that I was going nowhere, I left with my 8.99 print with bad color & ended up paying for the more expensive print I never even received. I refused to pay for the trial prints as i don't think i should pay for them not knowing how to do their job!!! I SUGGEST GOING TO ANY OTHER PRINT SHOP. BJ"S is by far the worst shop, with the worst prints, with the worst service EVER. read more

Last week, I was scheduled for an informative speech in my speech class. I went to staples to print/enlarge photos for my visual aid however the line was too long and there was only one staff multi-tasking with everyone's need. I went on yelp and search "print" to locate other stores that print school stuffs. I stumbled into "Copy Central Glendale" and hurriedly went over to their location. However, I got there at 5:01 and they closed on me. IN MY FACE! I then searched another one and found BJ's Emporium which is just across Copy Central Glendale. Phew! They were my lifesaver that day. The guy, which was apparently a filipino, who helped me was friendly and seems knowledgeable. It was an awesome experience. But why did I give FOUR STARS?! Because the same guy who helped me probably got his fingers on a freshly printed paper and spread it on some parts of the paper (which was white by the way). It was pretty obvious although it wasn't that bad. You should try them! read more

Found this print shop on Yelp! Manny was great to work with! We needed a banner, post cards, business cards, poster, and labels done in around 5 days. He did them all in 1 day! I was not sure how they would turn out as I have never worked with him before and it was a rush job, but everything came out better than expected, and better yet the price was more than fair. Manny was very patient helping us lay out all of the files to maximize paper usage. Good integrity- the job was done as promised. I learned later that he worked all night to finish the job. I came across BJ's Printing Emporium while I was on my way visiting a friend for her birthday party that was going to take place in a few days. She wanted to have some elaborate custom banners and signs displayed for her party, since she reserved a nearby popular restaurant to hold the party. At first I assumed BJ's was a just a run-of-the-mill printing shop like FedEx printing, but they actually offer a wide range of services, including the ones that my friend needed. Tom, who was the customer representative that helped me, did a great job explaining what types of banners and signs that they could do and provide for my friend's party. My friend already has some designs and photos on hand to use for the banners and signs, and Tom looked them over and said that they will be done in a day. Came back the next day, and I was amazed at the high quality of the banners and signs. The designs and photos were enlarged, but they weren't blurry or anything: they were picture perfect. Oh dear. While there for a relatively simple printing job, my girlfriend and I were left amazed at how badly we were treated. The staff were rude and uncooperative. Every request from us was way too much trouble for either of the staff that we dealt with. Most of the time, they had the aggravating habit of just wandering off in the middle of "helping" us. When we tried to pay for our printing job by card, we were told in a rude, offhand way that we would have to pay cash. read more

Wow! Very, very helpful service! I went to three other printer shops first, hoping to print an 8.5x11" page of labels, all of which said they couldn't help me. I figured BJ's Printing Emporium was too big for such a small project, but they immediately (and happily) went to work transferring the files. They did a test print first and decided to adjust the contrast for me. The resulting print was gorgeous and impossibly inexpensive for all the work they put in. read more

I'm really disappointed in Bjs. I will not be returning. I needed to print out a simple 8.5x11 sheet in color. I emailed them my file, and 5 minutes later, I was given a color print on photo quality paper. Then, I was told that it would cost me $4.99 for the print. WHAT?!?! My lesson learned is that I should ask for pricing before placing an order. But $5 for a single color copy? That is just not right. They said that all other copies after the first one are at $0.99. No thank you. I went down the street to FedEx and got the color print for $0.64. So much for trying to support the smaller businesses. read more

The manager Brittany is one of the rudest person I have ever met in my life. She screwed up and instead of owning to it she became angry, defensive, aggressive and telling me she is pregnant so I shouldn't say anything to her and it's okay that she can't read basic English, when all she had to do is apologize for her screw up. Then she used profanity wile gaining distance from me. I was dumfounded how at her actions. I have spent 1000s at BJs every year for almost 15 years now. I will never go to BJs again. I don't know how she got her manager position but she has no skills what's so ever to be one. I would fire my manager in a sec if she acted that way with clients and surrounding business owners since they are mostly clients as well. 3 other Buisness owners witnessed her actions and where totally disgusted of her profanity and rudeness. Overall I recommend BJs owners to higher people with more class and ethics to bring back the old BJs back that we all love working with. read more
