People forget BJ's is a chain restaurant. Think a better, high quality Chili's or Applebee's. As you might guess, BJ's is my first pick when choosing between chains. This BJ's feels very open with its 3 different areas (bar, main dining, and a dining area past the window/doors) and its high ceilings. TVs are conveniently placed around the restaurant, usually showing football, baseball, basketball or tennis. Watch your step when walking to the main dining area - I've seen at least 3 people trip and fall on the stairs. There are larger booths that could probably seat 4-6 comfortably, but they also have booths for 2. The smaller booths are roomy enough for sitting, but if you're ordering a lot you may have to start condensing plates. And even though BJ's is higher priced, anything you would wear into a Chili's is fine in here. In a huge chain like this I don't expect a culinary genius to be in the back preparing my food, however I am never disappointed with the dish I receive. In fact it usually exceeds my expectations. The last time I was at BJ's I ordered the Fish and Chips. Delicious. The fish was cooked properly and perfectly golden brown all around. I'm pretty sure their batter is made with one of their own beers. When getting any dish here with fries I almost always order the thin, crispy ones but if you like some more oomph to your fries they do have waffle fries I believe. Some of their dishes are a little different than what you'd expect (i.e. the Mac and Cheese comes topped with pieces of a cheese cracker...perhaps Cheese-it's or Goldfish), but the menu does outline the dishes so you shouldn't have any surprises. The menu is extensive so you're guaranteed to find something you like. It seems like they have endless amounts of drink possibilities. Yes, it's a brewhouse so you can order many different beers and specialty drinks (some that change with the seasons), but they also have specialty sodas (I love the cream soda) and other drinks worth a try or two. All the staff is really nice and knowledgeable. I almost could've given this BJ's a 5 star, but service isn't always the fastest. The fact that they have no problem to immediately rectify any issues you may have without making it a huge ordeal is almost redeeming though. And although it is a chain, this is definitely somewhere you should try when in EP if you haven't been to one before. read more

Service was great but that's where it ends. My wife and I went to eat here for our anniversary dinner and we were both very disappointed. The food was just not the same as always. The wings which we get every time we eat here were not good at all. My ribeye steak was so tough and it was a medium cooked steak. We even over herd the table behind complaining about the steak they received. We have been to BJ's so many times and this was the first time we were disappointed. This is my 3rd BJs experience and all in different states. It keeps getting better and I was impressed with their "healthy" food options available. I tried the healthy chicken platter with brown rice, it was delicious and light. We also saved room for pizza since on Monday's they have pizza specials for half off, they are ok but the price is pretty good so it was more than acceptable. They have reverse happy hour that starts at 9pm until they close, $5 wine and specials on appetizers. And where they won me is that they have an app where you can get points for eating at their establishments. I'm all about restaurants that reward your loyalty. Our waiter, manny was fantastic and patient with our special requests on our dishes. He made everything we wanted happen with a smile! My family and I went to BJ's for Lunch on Columbus Day on Oct. 9th. When we arrived, I noticed that half of the restaurant was empty - didn't think much of it. I liked that we didn't have to wait for a table. When we sat at the table, we ordered our drinks (no alcohol beverages were ordered) - 15 minutes later we were still waiting to get our drinks. More time goes by, and we finally get our drinks. We ordered our food. 60 minutes later, we get our food. But that's not the worst part. When the server put the plates on the table, I noticed that the amount of food that we were served was half of what is shown on the menu. I ordered the Italian Chicken Parmigiana Pasta. I wasn't happy with the service but decided not to say anything. I tasted the food. The pasta had a good flavor but the chicken was dry and burned. One of my guests ordered the spicy peanut chicken with soba noodles. It tasted terrible. She wasn't able to eat it. I asked the server if they were short on staff. He said the managers forgot to schedule enough people to work on the holiday. He too was frustrated because he was having to deal with unhappy customers. read more

Well it's been five years since I lasted visited BJs and it will be the last time. Food is actually not that good tasting. Velveeta cheese on the nachos and brown guacamole on top...half the chips were stale. The bacon cheeseburger was charred and the bacon was dry. My wife's thin pizza was brought out cold. The glassware was dirty and the floors grimy. You had 30 employees but none of them picked up a mop or broom to clean. Keep you hard earn money and eat at home! It's a BJ. I came for Veteran's Day as everything under $15 was free. I ordered the deep dish and it's not the best. But it was free.

Today's visit was a bit disappointing. My wife and I went for a late lunch. Our menus were dirty (almost every page) with old stuck pieces of "whatever". I had to comment to our server. The salmon was excellent. The Parmesan crusted chicken was less than attractive. It tasted stale as if the chicken had been in a freezer for quite some time. The ceaser salad was good (not much can go wrong here). We also had desserts to see if we could salvage lunch and fortunately we did. I would come back as I've had better experiences here. read more

Visited Sat 7/9/23 evening, sat at the bar, service was great. Got the menu and decided to try their new Filet Mignon Steak. Good price at about $29 incl two sides. The steak was ordered medium, came out almost rare, too bloody for my taste, and the small piece I ate was very chewy. So I sent it back. I hardly ever send food back, can't remember doing it before to be honest. It came back, looked good, so I started on it. This was honestly the toughest steak I've eaten in a very long time. Chewy, rubbery, not at all the way a filet should be. I don't think the additional cooking was the reason, I could tell it was tough from the first taste. More than likely, it was just the quality of the meat. It could have been a one-time thing, or perhaps this is the usual grade of meats used here, but I don't think I'll order steaks here any more. I have never written a bad review, nor have I ever felt like I wanted to walk out on a check before, but BJ's, especially the server, was really trying my patience! First off we were told an hour before being seated, understandable since it's Mother's Day and we have a big party, but we didn't get sat until 2 hours later. Then it took 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order, another 40 minutes to put in food orders (which some of the food wasn't right), and then another 45 min to an hour for us to get our food (we didn't even get our appetizer). Other people that were sat after us even got their food/drinks out before us. It took an hour for me to get my alcoholic drink, and about 30-45 min for the others at the table to get refills. Then it took OVER AN HOUR for us to get our checks but only after speaking with a manager, which his reply was "let me find your server". Never have I experienced such crappy service in my life. Our server, Vanessa, was absolutely fantastic. My best friend and I, were the last customers to leave because we were having such a wonderful time talking to her. Regardless of her many tables, she managed to tend to every single one of them, kindly and in a timely manner. We ordered the turkey burger and the portabella mushroom burger (being a vegetarian), along with deserts, and an amazing brussel sprout appetizer. We loved everything so much that a to go box was not needed, and being surrounded by wonderful people and superb decorum, encouraged us to stay and finish everything off. A daiquiri is a famous and classic cocktail. IT DOES NOT INVOLVE A BLENDER. It's probably the most easy drink you can make. When you come back with the wrong drink, after not asking for clarification or looking up the recipe & you acknowledge your mistake, the last thing you wanna do is take other people's orders and start making them before fixing the mistake. You also DO NOT WANT TO REPEAT the same action you just did, and deliver another wrong drink. You also don't want to wait 6 minutes before contacting a manager. Lastly, managers... if you get a compliant like this you DO want to comp the fucking drink. I was very excited to find out there is a BJ's in El Paso, I've been a fan of their pizza since I first visited the Dallas location and enjoyed a nice weekend dinner at the Burbank BJ's. Chicago Deep Dish pizza is my favorite, and honestly I've never had better than BJs, the El Paso location is no different. I'm not a big time beer connoisseur, but the beers are pretty good IMHO. I also recommend the potato skins app, they're yummy! One thing I really appreciate about this BJ's over other locations is the atmosphere, it is, for whatever reason, just a little bit above sports bar casual, which makes watching the game here a little more enjoyable (READ: folks aren't as rowdy). BJ's is ok. We go here when we aren't feeling adventurous and just want a decent appetizer and a cold beer. Service is always just OK. Hostesses are about as interested in their jobs as can be expected of teenagers. The waitresses overuse the term 'guys' to the point I want to smack them. We used to frequent the BJ's in Burbank until they put in a Gordon Biersch and then there was no reason to go back to BJ's. The one thing I have to really complain about is the 'deep dish' pizza. This is absolute garbage. The crust is about 1 1/2" thick and the toppings are the same quantity as a normal pizza. Just because they serve this abomination in a deep cast iron pan does NOT make it a Chicago deep dish pizza. While I am not an expert in Chicago deep dish, even the biggest chain pizza in Chicago makes a real deep dish pizza. A wonderful beer dinner tonight. For $30 you receive a food course meal that has been paired with a variety of Goose Island beer. No samples. These are practically full glasses of beer. This place was pretty solid! A large group of us came here after my sister's graduation, and we were luckily able to get a table for all of us on a busy Saturday night without a reservation. Good thing the restaurant is so huge! I really enjoyed that they have delicious house wine for around $5.00 and a great beer selection (obv). We ordered the avocado egg rolls, and they were OK, a bit rich for my taste, but I loved the spinach artichoke dip. It was SO good and not greasy like most of them are. I loved it!! I had the chili as my dinner and it was pretty good. Not super memorable but not bad either. Our waitress was excellent and kept our drinks full and plates cleared. Can't beat that! read more

Had a bad experience yesterday. Miscommunication between waiter and cooks about meal order. Made our party feel like we were to blame for the misunderstanding. They forgot about some of our meals and attended everyone else around us quickly. Anything we asked for seemed to bother the waitress as if it was making her job difficult, she was making faces and not attentive. There was a hair in my parties meal. Staff did absolutely nothing until a manager was called. Manager gave that meal free but was not much help on the entire situation. Will not be returning and do not recommend. read more

The appetizer my wife had as her meal (the Honey Sriracha Brussels Sprouts) were great, my Barbacoa Chicken was only "ok" - it claimed to come with feta cheese, but there were only 4 little pieces. Plus, the service was VERY slow throughout, from taking forever to have our order taken, to slow followup with drinks, and we didn't even arrive until 8 pm, so it wasn't prime time.
