Ended up trying BJ's again yesterday at about 1:30 for lunch. The restaurant wasn't very busy although it was very clear to see that they didn't have enough help. We had a waiter and he was doing the entire bar by himself. Needless to say our service was horrible. The food was great as usual. Not once did our waiter come back and ask us if everything was okay or to refresh our water or anything and we had to ask for our ticket when we were leaving. This is the second time that I've got very bad service at BJ's. It never used to be that way and I can't believe that they wouldn't be better staffed they're probably trying to cut their labor costs but that's not the way to do the cutting their costs when you're losing customers. read more

Driving through Eugene and decided to try something new. Sat in the bar. Cat was our server and provided amazing service. Ordered and shared the avocado egg rolls, Santa Fe chicken salad, and spicy peanut soba noodles. Everything was great. Highly recommend the noodles! We are long time BJ's customers but lately it has not been living up to its reputation. We went there the other night and had to wait 20 minutes for a table with half an empty restaurant but okay I get it if you are not fully staffed. Our waitress was very nice, drinks were served within a reasonable time and they have a great menu of specialty drinks, wine and beer. . After ordering the food, it came in a reasonable time also. Unfortunately my husband's fish and chips were dry and overcooked and served on a very unappetizing looking cookie tray. He also ordered malt vinegar with his order but it did not come until his meal was almost gone after several reminders. My daughter ordered the Ahi Poke appetizer for her dinner. The Ahi was stringy and nasty and tasted off so she sent back the whole thing and lost her appetite. Another person got the tri tip meal and was pretty happy with the portion and how it was cooked. He rated his meal an 8 out of 10. Of course we ordered Pizookies to share and those are just the best ever. Overall it was a disappointing experience and we will probably not be going back there for a while, there are too many great places with comparable prices in town. read more

Ordered a ribeye steak at medium temperature. It came out burned and well done. Said something; so they brought another one out. Burnt again but cooked to temperature. But it was so burnt it was overpowering. They didn't take the steak off the bill. Upon walking out of the restaurant; we passed another table that had already left with a. Sat at the bar during the lunch hour to kill time while we waited to pick up some friends at the airport. Service was pretty slow and not very friendly. The bartender acted like we were a bother. I went to BJ's for the first time with a few co-workers last night. It was very busy when we arrived, but thankfully, we used the BJ's app to get on the waiting list as we left work and we only had to wait a few moments to be seated by the time we arrived. Austin was our server and he was awesome. He was very helpful in choosing drinks and knew all about them. We got them very quickly. In the meantime, I got a good look a the menu. BJ's menu is huge. Much bigger than I anticipated. I am known for being a particularly picky eater, mostly because I don't like cheese or bacon. So many dishes don't really work for me because a regular hamburger is "elevated" with cheese and bacon and ends up costing more and I don't want either of those items. Not to worry, as there were items on every single page that I saw that sounded really good. From some seafood, to special salads, tacos, burgers, ribs, steak -- BJ's has an excellent selection even for pickier eaters such as myself. I should mention that some of the prices were a little steep in my opinion; the jumbalaya looked good and I've never had anything like it before, but it was $18.25 and there was a picture of it and the portion didn't look large enough to justify the price. So be aware that you will be plopping down some serious dough more often than not while you are here. My co-workers and I started with the calamari appetizer and it was very good. Normally they taste like whatever they were fried in, but they had their own unique flavor that wasn't too fishy and wasn't too fried. I ended up with a fried jalapeno burger with some different sauces (I told them no pepperjack cheese) and endless fries. On Thursdays this was only $10 which is a good price. The burger was fantastic and cooked exactly as I asked (well done). The fries were seasoned well and were not overpowered. I'm not much of an alcohol drinker, but BJ's has a very large selection and was able to make me something I could drink. I actually tried on of my co-worker's strawberry drinks and even though it had twice the alcohol in it, I could barely taste it. That works for me as drink that is too strong isn't very good in my opinion. Austin checked on us several times, took our glasses and trays, and got refills. Even though it was busy we were checked on several times. He even suggested a particular dessert and although we were all full, we were convinced we had to try the pazookis (or however that is spelled). They were also very good and the 3-piece platter worked perfectly for the 4 of us. All in all, I would absolutely go back to BJ's. The ambience is nice, there are lots of televisions so I could watch the playoff basketball and hockey, Austin was awesome, the food was fantastic and there are a lot of dishes that I need to get back in there and try. Just be aware that you are going to pay a pretty penny as BJ's clearly markets itself as a bit more upscale. I thought it was worth the price, but the expense may keep some people from going there more often. Personally, I will definitely be back. read more

We were Christmas shopping today and we are not BIG on Christmas shopping or even eating out at chain restaurants but we were tired and decided to just stop in really fast for something. Ordered take out from Grub Hub last night. The food was cold when it arrived. The Moroccan Chicken tasted funny and the chicken was rubbery. My husband was sick within half and hour of eating this dish. I ordered the cherry chipotle salmon. It's supposed to come on a bed of couscous, spinach and asparagus but when I took the lid off there was NO couscous. Just soupy spinach. Been here many times with my daughter when I visit and the food is consistently good. Today I tried their Nashville hot chicken sandwich and it was delicious, my only complaint is it needed more Nashville hot sauce, it was very sparse. My husband and I went to BJ's for the first time earlier this week. The parking lot is large which is greatly appreciated. The restaurant is clean, well kept, and has fresh decor. The staff is friendly and checked on us often. (Though I wish they'd give us a bit more time to work through the huge menu!) To drink I had the delicious pear cider and my husband had the Long Island iced tea. To eat I had the shrimp scampi. For the price, I was not a fan. I understand that it was a "light blend" but It seriously lacked flavor. I tried to give it more flavor adding pepper and Parmesan cheese that was at the table but it still just didn't cut it. My husband had a small BJ's favorite deep dish pizza. It was the perfect portion and he definitely left full and satisfied. I had a bite of a slice and I thought it was delicious. Even though I wasn't blown away by the scampi I will definitely be going back and trying different things on the menu, or just stick with the pizza! read more

BJ's!! This place is kinda like Chile's... but with pizza... and lots more beer to choose from... and way better food... and better staff... and better benefits for staff.... Anyways! They just recently opened a new location at Valley river center and its Bea-U-tiful, rumor has it they spent 2.5 million on the bar alone and 6 million on the new location. They staff is awesome. They gave out free food for two weeks before it opened. It seems like they're pretty on top of it. They one down side is they're a little on the pricey side of things. Alright then... its a chain. You already should know about it. If you don't then go there already. Stop being afraid of chains. Chain restaurants just mean that they have great consistency across the locations. This is a VERY clean and fairly large location. I love BJs for many reasons -- I love their Cider. I love love love their Peach Berry Iced Tea (yes I get like 6 refills when I go). Full bar though so get what you want. Burgers are good. Entrees are good. Pizza is good -- I love the white pizzas and the triple pepperoni... Apps are good -- boneless wings are great and cooked perfectly. Love their lettuce wraps as well. Drinks are good. Desserts are good -- I don't do desserts but the mini pizookie is good if you just want a little something. The regular pizookies I would have to share... VERY SWEET -- my fave is white chocolate macadamia. Fries -- fries are the SKINNY fries that I simply adore if you like them. They have good lunch specials -- I love unlimited Soup and Salad, or baked potato with soup or salad. Wedge salad is YUMMY... it is a side salad don't expect entree size. Tom/Mozz salad is my FAVE -- so freaking yummy Cheddar Broccoli soup is awesome... as is the tortilla soup. When we walked in, there were kids running around the front area. The place is dark and loud. They didn't seat us. Instead, the hostess turned around to direct us to a table in the bar area, but when she turned, I couldn't hear a thing she said. Eventually, we figured out what she was saying and seated ourselves. Service was prompt. The server was courteous. She did a good job, tho she took a while to come by after we were done - at least 10 minutes. And we had to ask her for a dessert menu. The menu is enormous. When my friends suggested an entree, they had to give me a page number - page 12 - and even then, the menu is busy. There are so many choices. The pics look like the food that comes out, tho. They also serve a lot of it. Good bang for your buck. We ordered pizzas. The Mediterranean and the Cantina (or Catalina?). I realize Mediterranean pizzas have salty toppings, but the other pizza was just as salty. It was too much. The dessert, the s'mores, was outta-this-world good. Overall, it was okay. If you want something dependably average, like any other big box chain, then BJs is all right. If I come back, I'm not ordering pizza tho. read more

I would have to say this is a big step up in the right direction. For starters it has more room, very friendly and attentive staff and centrally located. The other location I didn't rate so high because it was always a pain to park, a pain to wait, the food was just ok to me. I came here the opening week and had a very pleasant dining experience, the food was top notch! I had a rib eye steak with the red wine sauce and the horse radish mashed potatoes. Let me tell you! Hello fatty put down the fork! I could not stop taking bites it was so flavorful. I will be back for sure and can't wait to try other menu items. Way to step up your game Bj's! Sorry I'm not doing 5 star because its not sit down candle lit but I would say its 4 in a half with the steak. I have gone back and tried other menu items and I have to say I am quite pleased! Don't normally review chain restaurants too often, but had to give my server, Lauren, a shoutout! Main reason I'm reviewing, so let me talk about Lauren first. She as an exceptional server. Super easy to talk to and very knowledgeable about the menu and made sure to tell us about the BJ's app so we could get $10 off of $40. Me and my friend were visit Eugene for the first time and Lauren went way beyond just giving us suggestions, she wrote us a list of things to do! It was super nice of her. Really some of the best service I've had in a long time! If you're familiar with BJ's, it's a sister restaurant to The Cheesecake Factory. Don't come here when you're really hungry because the menu is huge! A little overwhelming for me, it took me a while to pick an entree. Went with the seared ahi salad and had a cup of clam soup. It was good! Nothing special. Dessert was much easier to pick, had to do the pazookie sampler, duh!!! The triple chocolate one is the winner! They changed up their menu so they didn't have the Cobb salad that I used to get here. I figured I would try their ahi tuna dinner salad, which was definitely a huge let down. First of all the salad looked nothing like the photo, secondly the flavour was just awkward. I think in a salad you expect either fresh cucumber or pickled but not both, same with the onions. The knife cuts were all over the place and the ahi tuna was a joke. I don't know that I will be back because if they can't pull off a salad I don't think I want to try more complicated dishes. read more

Cauliflower tacos we're good, I was just happy they had them! This location also had a good selection of local Oregon beers on draft in addition to the in-house beer. This is a great place to go with picky eaters or with a diverse group of people - there is something for everyone and the prices aren't bad. We came on a Sunday around 1:30pm. Wait times were a little long (30 minutes), but justifiable given the holiday weekend lunch times. Place is clean. Well laid out. Bathrooms were clean but everything in it worked of sensors- which sucked. Neither towel dispensor registered and one of the sinks couldnt register my hands. Technology sucks. Beer list was large! Wow. Bj's also brews their own beers which was good too. Had the Brewnette. Was great. Food: pizza was great. Spaghetti had large meat, but dry sauce. My bistro burger was EXCELLENT, but was complemented by gross frozen fries. Clearly, they are trying to keep to a certain retail price for their meals, so to retain correct margins, they use frozen fries. Both standard fries and sweet potato were both frozen and bland. But they did the job and filled my crapbag. So, whadda gunna do? Will return on a date night for sure! Will avoid for family eating (as pricing was a little high). read more

This is definitely a place with lots of options and we tend to end up here more often than not but it's not always the most amazing choice. One thing I love is that they have the kids starter plate for free which comes with some cut up fruit and a garlic knot. Most waiters are really good at getting that out to you right away so that the kids can have something to eat right away! This Friday we went for happy hour which goes until 7! You can get the usual plate of 10 mozzarella sticks that is over ten dollars usually for 6 bucks during happy hour, that is probably the best deal. We also got a 6 dollar brew house burger and one of the half off mini pizzas. They were both alright but they messed up our pizza and had to remake it and instead of bringing us our burger out they let it sit there so the fries were a bit luke warm. Then we had a reward for a free pizzokie but we needed to go cuz our one year old was loosing it so I ordered it to go. I ordered an Oreo one which comes with Oreo mousse on top which they forgot and I didn't notice it until we got home. Bummer because that basically made it a chocolate pizzokie with vanilla ice cream. They also messed up and used the wrong amount of points because she thought I just wanted to use 10 dollars off when I wanted to use a free pizzokie she said she fixed it and that it would put all of my points back on which it didn't, it put like 30 back on leaving me with 33 "old" points that I can't do anything with. Will we still be back? Yes, but this was a bit of a bummer. read more

A little to sweet for me- but if you can ask for a glass of water , you can adjust it to your taste ( also last longer that way too).. This time we had the Cajun Pasta, I suggest getting it with the shrimp. It was very good! When we travel we always try to check & see if there is a BJ's in the area. With all the meal options that fits everyone's appetite , great service- the quality & quantity for the $ is "spot on" & not to mention the vast bar selections: it's well worth it!! I wish I could give a zero. I've gone to other BJ's and always had a good service. Our server Molly only appeared twice to get our drink order and appetizer and to deliver our drinks. And she was too busy serving all the other tables and didn't even bother to visit our table to get our orders. We got our appetizer (also took a while). We waited at least 30 minutes and the table who got here after us got their food. So we decided to pay for the appetizer and leave, using the mobile payment with barcode. After we finished paying, Molly shows up saying that she needs to "double check" our payment.
