Five out of five and this place definitely deserves it. The service was fast and the food was fresh. I got the california chicken club sandwich and the chicken was cooked perfectly and super tasty. The sandwich bread was amazing itself. It was buttery and had some garlic. Absolutely amazing sandwich. I also got the guacamole burger deluxe and it was cooked great. So was the steak and chicken on the tri tip. This place has one the best desserts EVER!! Amazing pizzoki. I got the chocolate chunk pizzoki and it was gooey, chocolatey, and the right amount of undercooked. It was paired perfectly well with the ice cream. I don't like to leave a review after only one visit, but my reaction seems to be a common one. The atmosphere was lively and pleasant. For anyone wanting to watch a game and have a beer this is a fine spot. I enjoyed the nutty brown ale, but there was only one nonalcoholic option for my husband. It's such a fast growing segment of the market I have to wonder why only one? Service was fast and the staff friendly. The food though was barely acceptable. The chicken tortilla soup was painfully salty and unpleasantly viscous. Not at all what a tortilla soup should be. The Brussels sprouts were overcooked to the point of mushy and oily, though the sauce was good. The fish tacos were saved only by the avocado lime sauce. Somehow the corn chips were too salty, as though they had been sprinkled with salt at the last minute. The black beans accompanying the tacos, the salsa and the wedge salad were all good, but that's not enough. All too bad, because it's a great location for a good sports bar. read more

1st time visit,was recommended by hotel staff to eat there as a lot of business travelers go here. I took a seat at the bar and was offered a menu promptly, and it went downhill from there. Only 3 other people at the bar but I had to flag the 2nd bartender as nobody came near me for 20 minutes! I ordered the ribeye with a salad(dressing on the side). Salad came soaked in dressing like it was a soup, and you try to waive over a bartender(no response). so I eat soup/salad, and wait. I finally get my steak, it was rare not even close to being cooked, but nobody even asks why I am not eating. so I eat raw steak. Not once was I asked about my meal, and the steak was so salty it was like eating some kind of salted beef from the 1860' sailor food. had to ask for a bill after sitting with a empty drink on the bar for over 10 minutes while the staff and bartenders play grabb Ass on the other side of the bar. I could have gotten better service from a fast food restaurant, you would think a $30 meal would at least require someone to ask you if the meal was okay or ask how it's going? We had a group of 10 people with a reservation made. Our food took well over an hour and a half, with no communication as to why. The women's bathroom had no toilet paper and we notified the staff twice, an hour between each acknowledgment. The second time we let an employee know, she was on her phone standing by a register, with free time. The food was great when it arrived, but we ended up being there much longer than we anticipated. Our waitress was very nice and the food itself was good and hot. But, I ordered the Spicy chicken sandwich and could not believe the size of the chicken. It was smaller than half the bun! I could've went to chic fil a and paid way less for more of a sandwich. My wife and I were excited for our date day, so we decided to check BJ's out as it just opened a few months ago. When we are childless we like to sit at the bar. The bartender was very friendly at first as we were looking at the menu. We ordered a beer and a cocktail. We then watched the same bartender serve several other people before us over the next 20 minutes. We are very patient people but started to get a little irritated at this point. The couple next to us then asked for another round and were immediately served. At this point it had been almost a half hour without being served. We decided to leave and as we were walking away the bartender very condescendingly says "oh, are you guys all set?". My wife was very polite and responded that it had been over 30 minutes without being served our drinks to which the bartender very rudely says "well sorry!". We had such high expectations for this place but will never come back. read more

Let me start by saying the food was very good. Also, the wait staff was Great! So, why would I give this restaurant a 2 star? The hostess and the person seating us led to the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. My experience (with my wife) was this: we walked in and the hostess just stared at us and said nothing. So we finally spoke up and said "a table for 2 please" and her response was "well, there is gonna be a wait". We said "no problem, what about sitting at the bar?" She said "go look, if u want". Anyway, no spots at the bar but several open tables. We put our name in and waited patiently. We watch several people that came in after us get seated before us (so the hostess messed up our name or something) and we finally go up to her to say maybe something got messed up and she says, no "you're next". That was cool with us. The person seating us comes back and the hostess whispers something to her and she proceeds to walk us to our table without saying a word, then points at our table and walks off. Literally said not a word to us. The worst seating experience I have ever had by a long shot. So, what do you do? Well, we ask to speak to a manager to let them know our experience. The manager was very friendly but basically chalked it up to a long day and no "I am sorry". It was kinda our fault for coming in on a busy day. I hate to see businesses in our area fail and I know the restaurant business is tough so I hate to give a bad review but it is what it is. Ftr, this is the first review I have ever given below a 4 star. I know Covid has been a challenge so I would have never done this review but the manager sealed it for me. Update: BJ's contacted me (see below). They took my feedback seriously and gave me a gift card to BJ's for more than the cost of half the appetizer in less than a week of leaving the review. I appreciate their prompt attention. I raised my star rating from a 3 to a 5. I ate at BJ's tonight, which was a Friday night. The server was new but really nice. When we asked her about the happy hour specials she said all the appetizers were on sale. Because of this I ordered one. However when I got the bill, she informed me she had been wrong and her manager had corrected her and that the happy hour specials were limited and what I ordered was not half off. Since I wouldn't have ordered it if it had been full price, I asked to speak to the manager. The manager proceeded to educate me on what was actually allowed for happy hour and what wasn't, which was not only the appetizer but also the cocktail I ordered because again it was a limited menu. So instead of giving me six dollars back for my bill and honoring what the server told me, which would've made a happy customer, I'm leaving a relatively negative review here on yelp. The food was tasty. The server was nice. The manager sucked at her job. She should've educated the server not me and before the order went in or given me the six dollars back. I go to the BJ in Greenwood, Indiana A LOT. I would say 6-10 a month with family and friends. I just wanted to tell you about the HORRIBLE experience I had at the BJ Brewhouse in Lansing, MI at 2515 Lake Lansing Road. I called them to see what time they closed because I was in Lansing on business. I wanted to have a great meal. I was planning on having some friends to meet me on Friday after our event in town. There would have been 12-20 people. I walked in right at 10 pm or a little before. I stood at the hostess desk for several minutes while the older dark haired woman chatted with some friends of hers. She told me she would be with me in a few minutes. She then walked with the group to one table. They must have not liked it then she moved them to another table. By this time others had entered the hostess area. She finally came up to me and asked me "Would you like a table, booth, or sit at the bar?" I replied "which ever is fastest. I am hungry." Then then slurred her words and asked me 4 more times. I finally raised me voice and said "It doesn't matter just get me a seat." I was the only one in my party. I was sending messages to others about I found a great spot for dinner on Friday. She then fumbled with menus and asked me to follow her. Her walking was a little bit staggered. She told me someone would be with me soon. I was almost 10 minutes before anyone came to my table. While I was waiting two tables were sat and their orders were taken. One table with next to me. They ordered Prime Rib. When my waiter came I tried to order Prime Rib. I was told they just ran out of Prime Rib. I laughed and said "You are kidding me, right?" The waiter replied "No!" I told him I didn't want anything and walked out. On the way out the older woman was at the front hostess stand. I told her "Your service sucks here." I am glad this is not the standard at other places. I went next for to Smokey Bones. I hate to say it but I probably will never return to a BJ Brewhouse. read more

I only wish I had taken a photo to highlight how bad the French Dip was cooked. It looked like the roast beef had been pulled from the grease trap. It was extremely over cooked and very fatty. I have been to many BJ's Restaurants and really like their food. I doubt I'll go back to this one even though it's close to work and a nice setting to take customer. I would have complained but I was eating with a customer. I did say to the waiter while showing a photo from their mean, "does this look like that to you?". We had a fantastic experience at BJ's. I'm currently on the nutrisystem diet and had to control calories and because of their nutritional statistics on line, I was able to find something that fit right into my meal specifications. The service was fantastic! And we couldn't be happier. Be careful of the jambalaya, it is Very Spicy! The the selection of ales, ciders and beer, is tremendous! Ask for a refund. Wait around for manager. Someone takes an order (that ended up being mine,) to a different spot. They bring it back in. Manager finally arrives, tells me that they cannot refund me directly because it has to go through "corporate." Manager looks and finds my order. "Oh, yeah. It's been sitting here...."
