Bjs is a pretty high quality restaurant all thing considered with excellent service and a strong menu. We ended up getting their mozzarella sticks (9/10) which were a pretty good value for flavor, I got the smash burger (7/10) which for $15 was kinda the upper limit for what I'd pay for it, in my opinion their other burgers are probably better. We also ended with the chocolate pazooki (7/10) which was quite good but nothing beyond something you can make at home. 12/15- A bit on the pricey side but the food was quite good, and I'd recommend it for a somewhat nice meal such as a date or a bit of a bougie night out with friends. read more

I had a really disappointing experience at BJ's. Our server wasn't friendly and barely checked on us the entire time. We were left sitting with empty drinks until we had already finished our food, which is frustrating on its own but it got worse. Our meals didn't come out together, so some of us were left waiting while others' food got cold. On top of that, we weren't given silverware or napkins, and no one came by to notice or fix it. It honestly felt like we were being completely overlooked. With how quiet it was, there's really no excuse for this level of service. Okay first and foremost our waitress was fine, but everything else was a so bad we started to laugh it off. Don't sit outside. There's a propane leak that everyone is aware of coming from the heaters & it'll give you a headache no matter where you sit. && YES, the managers know... it's only going to take one person to light a cigarette out there so be careful!!!! The prime rib was like meatloaf & honestly everything else was not good (we kept ordering stuff because we thought maybe it's just what we're picking)... even the pizookie... the last time I ate here was in 2020 & six years later, i wanted to give it another shot...I don't think I'll be giving them another shot after this time. Can't go wrong with BJ's, particularly with such great service in the middle of a huge winter storm. The pizookie meal deal is kind of a steal, particularly if you add an appetizer or chips with it (pretty much a solid three course meal for under 20 bucks). Highly recommend the smashburger, chicken parmigiana, caesar salad, and the chips and salsa were super fresh too. Cookies and cream pizookie was exceptional. I know BJ's is a national chain and I've had it in many places, but this location is really good. The service is friendly and consistent also. The restaurant was close to my hotel so decided to check it out. The food was good and I chose healthy options. Service was good, however it took awhile for my food to be ready (it was quite busy). I came in with a friend around 10 and were placed on a brief wait. Unfortunately, every single time we come in it seems like the hosts are far less than happy to see us, which is usually a tell tale sign of the experience we are about to receive. Once we got seated, we sat un-greeted for around 5-7 minutes. During this time we watched our waiter, Anthony, and the manager chatting it up with a table across from us instead of greeting us and another table he was sat after us. Once we finally were greeted we placed our food and drink order. I got my drink in a timely manner however the glass was dirty and I flagged down the manager to grab a new mug for me. My friend waited about 15 minutes before we finally caught him to ask him where her drink was at the same time he was dropping off our appetizers whic we received AFTER my entree where the chicken was room temp. We waited another couple of minutes for him to arrive with her entree where her fries were drenched in oil and not even hot. I can expect oil on hot fries, but these were cold and soggy which just added on top of the disappointment. We ordered a pizookie and then paid online. He came up to our table one last time to see if we wanted boxes, and after my friend said she wanted one, he went up to the bar to chit chat with another one of his friends it seems since he sat directly beside him. We also witnessed, throughout the night, another patron get up from his table multiple times and order drinks from the bartender rather than the server. This is not the first time we've received bad service here but we come every now and then hoping for a better experience. Overall, almost every time I've dined here, I've received bad and slow service, mediocre food, and management that does not seem to care. I usually love BJ's at other locations but this one simply is not up to par. read more

To begin with we walked in late. It was 945 at night. There was not a lot of people they are surprisingly, and they shut down multiple areas in the restaurant, but still plenty of room at the bar area to sit. We grabbed a small booth and sat down. It took about 12 to 15 minutes for somebody to acknowledge us to come get our drink order. Once the young man did get our drink orders, they were brought out in a timely manner. We asked about the house drinks that were on special as well as appetizers. We ordered the wonton off of the list and he asked if we would like the spicier or regular. We went with the spicier. Just FYI, if you go with the spicier it's 15.99 versus six dollars. Definitely would've went with the cheaper side. My husband ordered a Jack Daniels and Dr Pepper because they did not have Coke products. The first was a single short and it was just fine. The second he ordered was a double short and it was the same exact as the first one. He told the young man and the waiter himself went and made the drink. It definitely was better and had the two shots in it. My husband ordered wings boneless and I ordered the 8 ounce sirloin. I had brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes. I had my steak cooked to medium rare. I may steak snob because I used to judge me in college. I knew the moment the state came out. It was not a sirloin. It was literally a 2 inch rectangle roast that they called a sirloin. It was medium well too well done in the entire steak. I made mention to my server and he did take it back and bring out a new one again the same exact thing but I just told him that never mind leave it alone. The waiter had the stake removed from our ticket. The only thing I ate off of my plate with two bites of potatoes, two bites of steak and all of the brussels sprouts that were also overcooked. The mashed potatoes were so dry and you could find flakes of uncooked mashed potatoes in them . Again, the waiter was apologetic and we had no problems with service after we got our drinks finally. I ended up tipping him 30% just because of the hassle of everything, but he took exceptional care of us. We had a pizza to go, but the problem is the toppings weren't cooked. We ordered a pepperoni, sausage and double mushroom. A personal pan. The mushrooms were 100% raw still. Again, not good. I'm not sure that we will return to this location because out of the five times we've come it has not been good food the last three times. Again we have paid over $100 for a meal, left with boxes of cold food, untouched, and no contact from management. The manager seems to enjoy the tv and the beautiful blondes at the host station. Our bartender asked repeatedly for help from others and after 1.5 hours our food came out cold. Disappointed in the way service is working. The wait time has been consistently awful. About an hour and a half to receive the food in my most recent visits. Most of the food was served cold, so quality does not make it worth the wait. BJ's is a decent chain restaurant, but this is not their best location. Our server today was great on the other hand! He was charismatic and efficient, so I'm assuming it's a kitchen or low staff dilemma. Restaurant itself appeared clean! We came here February 2, 2025 around 6-7. I had been here a few times before, but this visit was probably one of my favorites. The manager was up at the host stand, he was talking with everyone who cam in and letting them know their about their rewards app. He truly made this visit lovely. We got sat, it's usually a low volume place. Always people talking but never to loud. Our server was awesome, I ordered the chicken alfredo, and my girlfriend got a steak, I felt bad but I couldn't eat the alfredo, the sauce used had such an odd taste to it. I pushed it to the side and just ate some bits off the steak plate, the server and the manager offered to get me something but I said no that it was fine. Upon arriving, restaurant was pretty empty. Hostess got our number and told us we would be seated shortly and would text us. Ummm....okay! We were seated in about 5 mins. Nothing to complain about, I guess. Our waitress came over and was very pleasant. My husband immediately ordered an Old Fashioned and I wanted to see the local beer menu; as we are not from Lubbock. We put in an order for an appetizer at the same time. About 7 mins later, waitress brought over the beer menu and I told her which sample I would like. Again, 7 mins later, she brought the sample over and apologized because the drink orders were "slammed" for the bartender. Again, restaurant was pretty empty. I didn't like the sample I chose and ordered another. Five mins later, that one was brought over. I immediately told her I loved it and she said great! I'll put that pint in for you! We then ordered our food. Sirloin, broccoli and salad and hubby got the 14oz ribeye. Ordered both "Medium" on cook style. So the wait is on. No beer, no appetizer, no salads, except for my husband's Old Fashioned. 15 minutes pass. Appetizer comes out, 5 seconds later, salads are on our table. Ten seconds after that, our entree is on our table. Still no beer/drink for me. Only water that tasted like Midland water. No thank you. Ribeye was NOT 14 oz. Not even sure what kind of steak it was. But definitely not a ribeye. It was maybe 8-10oz, at best. Way overcooked and chewy. My "sirloin" was not sirloin. I couldn't even chew it. It was loaded with fat, extremely hard to cut so I just gave up. Zero taste. Broccoli was cold and rubbery. No one asked if we wanted steak sauce, or any other kind of seasoning. Or even how our food was. I was done eating, and over 10 mins into that entire meal that arrived at our table at once, my beer finally showed up. Wasn't asked if we wanted desert (which was the main reason we even went here)...but the waitress was very hurriedly trying to get us out. Even stopping with another customer's salad in her hand to wait for our payment so she could take it with her. Absolute rough experience. Ambiance and our surroundings were nice. But think this place needs some overhauling on help or something. Whoever brought our food out was horrible. Just placed it on our table and walked away, without a smile, nod or "enjoy." The consistency of the recipe is off. Probably depends on who's cooking. Sunday 11/30 the shrimp scampi was PHENOMENAL!!! Best thing we've ever had at BJ's. So much so that we ordered it to the house the next day for the entire family of 4. Today, palatable at best. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! Bland. Same as we always feel and one of the main reasons we stopped frequenting BJ's. Corporate needs to get on this and establish continuity of flavors or BJ's will go the way of all the other chains. Manager needs to be fired so they can hire someone in the hospitality industry. Second time I walked out of there, zero greeting, zero service. Servers rolling silver at the bar, not so much as an acknowledgment. Manager goes up the them to flirt, not a hello the bartender will be right there from him. 6 minutes later, we left. This is the 2nd time in 6 months the same thing happens, you walk in and you're wearing an invisibility cloak and have to leave. Went to Perry's pizza after this experience, way better. read more

It was after a home Texas Tech game. The wait was about 30 minutes for 3 people. Not bad for the situation. Table was not cleaned very well nor were the 2 of the chairs. Hostess cleaned them with a very apologetic demeanor (which is all you can ask for. Things sometimes happen). Then our server came over. Best service I have EVER had at any of the chain. He was SUPER suggestive and very helpful in answering questions. I have waited tables for collectively for over 20 years and this guy had it together! I think he deserves a lot of recognition for his service. His name is Mitchell and his service, personality and knowledge were spot on!! Food was a little over done - but no fault of his. I know we go in late, but with over an hour till close, it's kind of ridiculous to have had the experience that we just had tonight. As we walk in, the host is not trilled to see us and places us in a 10-15 minute wait as we watch her go around the restaurant searching for a server that will take us. After seeing many servers shake their head, she finally sits us with Jailyn. Jailyn also was less than thrilled to be serving us, which is very disappointed since all three of us just finished our shifts at a restaurant. We are always willing to be understanding and flexible during our dining experiences, but tonight was just not hitting that mark. After placing our orders, we got to watch him stand around and chit chat with other employees right behind our table as we were waiting for our drinks from the bar. Crazy how the second he went to go check on them, they were done after about 10 minutes of waiting. I'm surprised my drink wasn't more watered down. Throughout our experience we had empty glasses, he never once checked to see if our food was made right, and at the end of the night, we were so ready to go, we ended up leaving our payment on the table and leaving. Then I go to order my dinner, and she comes back again, to tell me they don't have that either. The manager came by to check on us and basically said sorry about your luck. We have had food and drinks at Lubbock location for many years. The last 3 times we've been here (including today) - service was awful. Several tables around us were upset over unavailable items (like steak) - our pizza was cold/overcooked and with 1 bartender on staff obviously drink svc very slow. Booths in bar area definitely need some "replacing" on seats. Corp office needs to make a visit to this location. Staff was constantly having to deal with displeased customers - I did not complain to server- she seemed to have enough people complaining. I never leave reviews and it was so good, I have to say how exceptional the staff and food were for us. My son and I had the most amazing experience here. The ambiance was cozy and inviting. Our waiter, Roger, made the experience fun and lighthearted the whole time. The Root beer bbq wings and the blackberry margarita are definitely new favorites. If you do nothing else, try the blackberry margarita. Hands down, the experience was made because of how amazing our exceptional waiter was. It pains me to leave this review since we have been loyal patrons of BJs for years, and would always make sure to come by when visiting from out of town. Now that we are Lubbock locals, we have usually had positive experiences and bring people from out of town to visit. Unfortunately, our visit last night has us questioning our desire to return. We visited around 4pm on a Saturday and just ordered drinks and apps. Drinks were good as always, but the food left a lot to be desired. My advice: avoid the appetizer sampler. It was served completely COLD. Wings looked like leftovers and some had basically no meat and were overdone. Queso was cold. Sliders were dry and tasteless. We had to ask for the mozzarella sticks after they forgot to put them on the platter...when they were brought 20 minutes later, quite literally NO cheese; just breading which was bizarre. We waited probably an hour and a half total for mediocre experience, but the fastest thing to be brought was the check. We hope to have a better experience in the future. read more

We got to Bjs at 7 and we sat at table 304, that was the most disrespectful and worst dining experience I have had in my life. Chipped glass which you are never suppose to give a customer, waited 30 minutes for him to refill our drinks that we drank from the very beginning and we had to ask him 3 times to refill it and he never did, we had one refill the whole entire time and he never got it. Never came and checked on us. Was very disrespectful we had to ask him multiple times to get us something and he would not do it and he kept rolling his eyes. We wanted to stay longer and get dessert but he never checked on us and was very very disrespectful.
