Sadly, we came here to enjoy a meal during Father's Day Weekend. We were seated after waiting 20 minutes. Our server was a bit preoccupied and did not seem to genuinely want to be there working. She took our drink orders and the when to get them. After about 5 to 10 minutes, she came back with our drinks. Imagine how frustrated we were when we went to taste our hot tea that we had just ordered and had a tea bag steeping in for 5 minutes, and realizing that the water for the tea was COLD!! our server just didn't even care and didn't even bother so we got up and just left and went over to the Yard House in Mission Valley. Do not recommend placing group orders or any online orders with this establishment. The representative lied to their manager, Max, who in turn lied to me and DoorDash directly on the phone as to why our order was cancelled--ten minutes after the order was expected to arrive. I could hear the young female rep coaching Max over the phone. The timing was off and the details did not align with typical DoorDash protocol or policy. The driver was waiting there for at least ten minutes as I was tracking it and the restaurant rep claimed that they were supposed to arrive an hour before expected delivery, which makes absolutely no sense. They apparently did not have one item available so they canceled the entire thing without attempting to reach me or DoorDash--which every restaurant in the past had been able to do. I've been to this location a few times in the past year. I won't come for the food or service, but I will come for the pizookies. The service is always blah at best. With the exception of a pretzel with cheese I have not had a good dish here in years. I've had to send back food one of the last time I was here because it was not good. Went on a Sunday after church No wait for a table but I sat at the bar. Staff were a little slow to offer a menu and not much interaction during my visit I ordered a mocktail tiki twist. It was ok. Out of all the restaurants, we chose BJ's for lunch. They don't offer lunch menu, it's the same as their all day menu but they have happy hour menu. We got a small personal deep dish pizza, BJ's Favorite which is like meat lovers. I loved this because it reminds me of Pizza Hut. The Brewhouse Sampler had sliders, choice of wings, mozzarella sticks and artichoke spinach dip. The sliders were dry, the bone in wings were small but decent, the artichoke dip was lacking spinach. Then we got chicken Alfredo, which tasted like the can. Afterwards, I regretted picking this place over the other chains because they don't have a lunch menu which meant more out of pocket. We were seated immediately, and it was super quick however my seat was so DIRTY. Like crumbs, so sticky, and it was not the best. I told the waiter and she immediately went to wipe it, but it was still stained because it became hardened into the seat... I don't think the workers really wiped after customers. That lost a star for me. Other than that, the service was great from our waiter, and we got a strawberry shortcake pizookie to share which was delicious. I've had some issues with service here in past years but always have enjoyed the food. My last time here was fantastic and our waitress was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere here is very different from the grossmont mall location in San Diego. This location feels more like a brew house with very high ceilings and a whole bar area with many tvs around the entire restaurant. I tried their new asian sweet and spicy chili sauce on the boneless wings and it was SO good. The perfect amount of sauce on the wings and a good kick. The person I was with got the brewpub pretzel which was a decent size and the mustard + beer cheese they serve with it goes really well with it. Lastly, for dessert of course we had to get a pizookie so we opted for the fun halloween seasonal "spooky pizookie" but substituted the oreo cookie with the triple chocolate cookie. The magic shell you pour on top is fun and the ice cream is so bright orange. It also has little cute pumpkin shaped sprinkles and oreos on top. Loved it! read more

We had a huge gap between when we received our meals and dessert. It wasn't a big deal, but I suggest letting them know if you're in a hurry beforehand. The service could be improved for large groups. My group had scheduled a 20 person table over a month ago for a 6pm slot. One of us had arrived at 5:30pm to make sure the table and kitchen set up had enough time before the 6pm arrival of everyone else. Our table location was moved twice, making our older guests get up and down up and down because of their arrangement mistake, then the buffet isn't even set up. We don't start eating until 6:35pm. I know 20 people is a lot, but there's a reason we scheduled this over a month ago. They advertise that they support "large parties" and we're met with a lack of attention. First time at this BJ's location. We decided to go there after work (5:30 pm) and seated ourselves at a hightop table by the bar to take advantage of happy hour. I was very impressed at the ambience and the amount of people there on a Wednesday evening. We were greeted by a very nice server (Asian female). Right away she got us some waters and gave us a few minutes to place our orders. It took a while for us to receive our beers. For some reason they weren't that cold, even though we saw the bartender pour them off the tap. Hmmm? I was very disappointed that both soap dispensers in the men's restroom were out of soap. I immediately informed a male hostess, who said he would refill it up right away. He did not, as I waited at least 10 minutes then our food arrived. So, I went back to the men's restroom, and the soap dispensers were still out of soap. I informed some staff at a machine in the center of the restaurant, and both employees (female and bald male), were very attentive and responded right away. I informed them that my food just arrived, and I was worried that my smash burger was getting cold. She asked right away if I wanted another one made. They had the male hostess and another employee refill the soap dispensers. It took a few minutes for them to do so, and I was finally able to wash my hands before eating my meal. I went back to the male (bald) employee and he was nice enough to have the workers prepare another smash burger for me. Food was great. My wife enjoyed her personal pizza. I enjoyed my smash burger and fries, but did not take advantage of the endless fries as I was upset of the lack of soap in the men's restroom and the delay to refill them. I'm surprised nobody else said anything about the lack of soap. Overall, I would give our experience at BJ's 3 1/2 stars. We really appreciated the female server and the aforementioned two employees who responded right away about the issue with no soap in the men's restroom.
