Last night I went out to dinner with my family and had such a good dinner experience that I felt the need to share. The service was great and food was delicious, when we got there we were immediately greeted by the host who was very nice, and the wait wasnt too bad. Our server Marissa was very attentive and her customer service was 10/10! And to top it off our food was delicious and even ended our meal with a manager named V coming by the tables and checking how everything was and even clearing plates from tables we let her know everything was great but just wanted to also write this review recognizing the overall experience we had, will be back again soon and hope to encounter all the same friendly faces:) read more

I'm updating to say I had the enlightened strawberry fields salad and this is a great salad! I love that the meal deal offers such a wide array of choices and the chicken in the strawberry fields salad is so tender, not dry at all. The toppings like the candied nuts and blue cheese crumbles are such a good accompaniment. Don't sleep on this salad. Pizookies are amazing as always. Ordered online for car side pick up. Ordered the steakhouse wedge no tomatoes. It was not the best to say the least. It was two pieces of wedge. Both were brown and wilted on the outer leafs and the core was the core. Hard and bitter. The toppings were nonexistent. And no dressing included. It's was $32 I did call and they refunded it to a card. Note: if you use Apple Pay it's three weeks to get a refund. This is an isolated incident as I've gotten great service and food at this location before so I know that I will go back and use the card. How hard can it be to screw up a loaded baked potato? Just ask this place. Under-cooked potato, with almost no toppings. And forget asking the server for something like additional sour cream. She dropped the food and never returned until the check. La Mesa is much better. Go there. read more

Sadly, we came here to enjoy a meal during Father's Day Weekend. We were seated after waiting 20 minutes. Our server was a bit preoccupied and did not seem to genuinely want to be there working. She took our drink orders and the when to get them. After about 5 to 10 minutes, she came back with our drinks. Imagine how frustrated we were when we went to taste our hot tea that we had just ordered and had a tea bag steeping in for 5 minutes, and realizing that the water for the tea was COLD!! our server just didn't even care and didn't even bother so we got up and just left and went over to the Yard House in Mission Valley. Hanna was our server. She was friendly, efficient and accommodating The wings were good. We request just the flat and that's what we got. The Steakhouse Wedge was not good. The steak was overcooked, well done, dry and mostly fat. We requested no onions and we got onions. The salad was sent back and my guest skipped dinner. The Sante Fe Chicken Salad was OK. The chicken was good. The salad lacked flavor and was a little soggy. Sam, the manager came over to address the steak salad, she offered to bring another entree or package something to go. She also offered dessert. We declined but she was very eager to make things right. The salad was removed from The check. I was just impressed with Sam's approach and professionalism. The deals offered at BJs is insane! This location was packed by 6 pm so I'm glad we came early. $19.99 for a large pizza that is 10 slices! A $13 meal deal. The sampler platter has a little bit of everything. Lots of TVs so if you like sports, you will be able to watch whatever you want. Definitely recommend the pizookie for dessert, any kind, they're all really good. You can't go wrong with BJ's...everything is delicious! I'm not the only one who thinks so...the proof is in the packed brewhouse when I'm there and not there basically. It all started with their signature deep dish pizzas that made them famous then their Pizookie deserts that made them famous then their expansive menu... do I need to say more. I was hooked! This location does have its hands full especially during Happy Hour but the staff handle it really well. They're still super friendly despite the busyness and able to stay on point in terms of service. I always enjoy myself in this fun and active atmosphere. The food at BJ's is always good. I had a deep dish pepperoni pizza from their pizooki meal deal, which is a great option. There's so many choices to choose from plus you get a mini Pazooki. You can't go wrong there. The customer service is for the most part really good and I've been there a couple times in the past month and both time overall the customer service was good, but there was an issue with the server calling out the wrong name for the meal, which was confusing for a large party that we had and also I ordered a root beer that is made in house and I guess something was wrong with the machine so they brought me out something that they said was root beer, but it definitely tasted like Dr Pepper but that's minor but overall the customer service is pretty good. One of the bartenders is amazing and BJ's is always cute sports on the TV. Great pictures on the wall. It's a vibe. read more

I've been to this location a few times in the past year. I won't come for the food or service, but I will come for the pizookies. The service is always blah at best. With the exception of a pretzel with cheese I have not had a good dish here in years. I've had to send back food one of the last time I was here because it was not good. Do not recommend placing group orders or any online orders with this establishment. The representative lied to their manager, Max, who in turn lied to me and DoorDash directly on the phone as to why our order was cancelled--ten minutes after the order was expected to arrive. I could hear the young female rep coaching Max over the phone. The timing was off and the details did not align with typical DoorDash protocol or policy. The driver was waiting there for at least ten minutes as I was tracking it and the restaurant rep claimed that they were supposed to arrive an hour before expected delivery, which makes absolutely no sense. They apparently did not have one item available so they canceled the entire thing without attempting to reach me or DoorDash--which every restaurant in the past had been able to do. Needless to say my office is now super annoyed at me and none of us will be attending this location. Ridiculous management and service. read more

It can be really slow especially weekends during dinner. -The calamari appetizer was good. -I ordered the the prime rib , came with a salad, 2 sides and a pizookie. The prime rib itself was okay. The pizookie was delicious as always. (Prime rib only available Friday & sat after 4pm and all day Sunday) -my boyfriend ordered the tri tip & baby back rib combo. He said it was ok. Stopped by for a late lunch with a friend after watching Young Washington at UltraStar. We were pleasantly surprised to catch FIFA Switzerland vs Colombia too. There were several tables there for the game. Not crazy crowded but a nice atmosphere. Our server Kayla was great and very attentive. My friend ordered something she hadn't tried before, the French dip with fries. She said it was really good with the Au jus. I ordered my favorite pizooke meal Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes. I have ordered this enough to know what to expect and enjoyed substituting non starchy vegetables. First of all, they no longer allow any substitutions. Bummer. When the chicken came out it looked burnt compared to the other times or maybe the oil was old. I mentioned this to Kayla and she immediately replaced my order with a new one. A man brought it out who I think is the manager. Unfortunately, the chicken looked similar and actually tasted rubbery. The mashed potatoes were gummy and the succotash looked like it was left overs and dried out. At least my pizookie was delicious as always with a nice sized scoop of ice cream. I told my friend I won't order the chicken meal again because it's obviously a quality issue. Kayla asked me if I liked the second plate and I shared was honest with her even though I felt very uncomfortable sharing. Out of all the restaurants, we chose BJ's for lunch. They don't offer lunch menu, it's the same as their all day menu but they have happy hour menu. We got a small personal deep dish pizza, BJ's Favorite which is like meat lovers. I loved this because it reminds me of Pizza Hut. The Brewhouse Sampler had sliders, choice of wings, mozzarella sticks and artichoke spinach dip. The sliders were dry, the bone in wings were small but decent, the artichoke dip was lacking spinach. Then we got chicken Alfredo, which tasted like the can. Afterwards, I regretted picking this place over the other chains because they don't have a lunch menu which meant more out of pocket. Long story short.. had one of our first dates here in late 2013. I think it was on thier soft opening. Stayed at the Doubletree across the street and it was just a quick trip to SD. Since then I made him move to me and we decided to move to SD. We are married and living in a house. We just had a flood and need to relocate so why not stay at the Doubletree. There is a lot lots of parking but can get super packed very quickly. This BJ's is very big, high ceilings and I love how spacious it is. We were seated immediately, and it was super quick however my seat was so DIRTY. Like crumbs, so sticky, and it was not the best. I told the waiter and she immediately went to wipe it, but it was still stained because it became hardened into the seat... I don't think the workers really wiped after customers. That lost a star for me. Other than that, the service was great from our waiter, and we got a strawberry shortcake pizookie to share which was delicious. The ambiance of the place is a bit dirty, but still very spacious and large. This spot is great for game days and families! read more

I've had some issues with service here in past years but always have enjoyed the food. My last time here was fantastic and our waitress was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere here is very different from the grossmont mall location in San Diego. This location feels more like a brew house with very high ceilings and a whole bar area with many tvs around the entire restaurant. I tried their new asian sweet and spicy chili sauce on the boneless wings and it was SO good. The perfect amount of sauce on the wings and a good kick. The person I was with got the brewpub pretzel which was a decent size and the mustard + beer cheese they serve with it goes really well with it. Lastly, for dessert of course we had to get a pizookie so we opted for the fun halloween seasonal "spooky pizookie" but substituted the oreo cookie with the triple chocolate cookie. The magic shell you pour on top is fun and the ice cream is so bright orange. It also has little cute pumpkin shaped sprinkles and oreos on top. Loved it! read more

We reserved for a private event in the patio area. At first it seemed like everything was running smoothly. We were able to bring outside food/sweets to the event which was stored at BJs hours prior to the event. Breadsticks and rice were served cold. I was told because whoever dropped off the food directed staff to refrigerate everything when in fact I specified what was provided and wanted the rice and breadsticks at room temperature or warmed up. It took a while for the second round of food to come out and I noticed 3 times that the plates to serve food were not cleaned. Servers were accommodating and super nice. I was also told that we could take the leftovers so I waited for the to go plates but never received any. read more
