The Birthday club decided to celebrate Patty's Birthday at BJs Brew House. The bad thing about the bar area, they're unable to seat 7 of us for happy hour so the manager was so kind to set up a table for us in the dining room and allowed us to have happy hour there and continue on with our dinner. This was super nice because it would have been a 45 minute wait to get a table. The kitchen was behind due to 5 big parties and only 5 servers. The manager kept apologizing for the delay and we were fine with it, us girls had a lot of catching up to do. We all had the special $13 menu deals. Everyone chose a different menu item so it was fun to see all the variety dishes all at once. With the $13 special it includes pkooskie which is the best part. I had the wedge salad which I had not tried before and it was quite tasty and the hot honey pizza with pepperoni and ham, cooked perfectly and crispy, just the way I like it. A round of happy hour drinks and three appetizers $50 and dinner for 7 $125 that's what I call a great deal! We had awesome service even with the delay! If you're looking some where that is reasonable with a large group look no further this place is for you. read more

The lunch service was a total joke! Lunch for two was the worst experience you can imagine. The food server takes our order, we had salads and ice tea and we never saw our server, again, we got our salads, then we got our ice teas. Both were bought to us by the food runner. No one checked on us not a sole. Finally after 47 minutes we flagged down the bartender, for refills, and at point the food server finally came to our table with the bill, our lunch comes with desert, however the food server felt we didn't need it she gave us our check. The server is not some stupid kid she is a grown woman who should be trained on how to make the customer happy or dismissed, because she sucks at her job! It may sound like I am being mean, please believe me, the truth does hurt, she was the worst food server. She just didn't care about the customer and it showed! There are so many more places here in Sparks to go too for lunch and dinner. The managers should be a sham of themselves, for allowing this lazy server to continue to hurt business and to think there is restaurants closing all over town and they are letting the owners down! We arrived at very busy time, just past happy hour which ends st 7:00 PM. We found a booth in the bar area right away. We were greeted promptly and had an opportunity to order drinks while checking out the specials. The restaurant was vibrant and clean and had the NBA playoffs on. We opted for the $20 large pizza special, a Hopstorm (BJ's IPA), and a Wedge salad with basalmic glaze. We all shared a Salted Caramel Pizookie to end. The pizza in my opinion needed more sauce and was a little overcooked on the top. They graciously provided me with additional marinara spice on the side. Our waitress was very attentive and funny. She impressed me with how many people she was serving effectively. Definitely one of my favorites and I also redeemed a 10 reward. Great spot. read more

We had lunch there today to get our fave calamaris. But the funny thing (and frustrating) , was they failed to deliver it as our appetizer because they had problems in the kitchen. Someone must have not put the tab or maybe it was forgotten. Appetizers are suppose to be served before your entree. Anyway, things happen and we've been there several times and it does not stop us from going there. I ordered Shrimp Scampi. It was pretty good, though i'm not a fan of angel hair. Decided to grab some lunch here with the family. We were seated immediately and drinks came right after. We had a newer server and she was so sweet! I ordered the chicken pita tacos and they actually came out wrong. She stated she accidentally grabbed the wrong ones as she is still learning the dishes. I had a few bites and noticed the chicken wasn't at all what I was expecting. By that time she had come back and admitted to serving the wrong dish. She replaced it immediately with the correct one. We arrived at BJ's around 12:15am knowing they closed at 1am and I felt a little bad coming in so late. Despite that the service was absolutely amazing and we never felt rushed or unwelcome. It was clean and empty despite there being a few other couples present. A few items weren't available which was completely understandable given the time but everything we ordered was great. The strawberry lemon drop was the highlight of the night and easily my favorite drink of all time. My boyfriend ordered a beer and was very happy with it. I had the chicken parm with pasta which was delicious and he ordered the chicken and steak with mashed potatoes. Everything definitely hit the spot. We also shared a side of garlic shrimp with bread and it was a great addition. Overall we left extremely happy and pleased with our visit. This review is for Brandon, who worked in the bar area over the weekend. My brother and SIL were craving burgers after a weekend shopping outing, so we decided on BJ's. It was close to lunch time and to minimize our wait, we opted to sit at the high top tables in the bar area. Brandon was our server and he was immediately attentive, friendly and continued to check in on us regularly. It's been awhile since I've had great service in a chain restaurant and even my brother and SIL commented on how great our server was. Food is pretty good here! And the menu is huge which is a pro for pleasing everyone in your group but also hard for someone like me who is indecisive. I've been to this location many times through the years and the last few times I've noticed major issues with wait times. I think they may be often understaffed.... Our food last time took about an hour to get for a party of 5. Our waiter was wonderful and even provided a free dessert for the long wait, but the wait time will definitely make me reconsider visiting this location again. read more

We were a group of 14 having a celebration dinner, and I feel BJ's did a decent job hosting us. Let's say 3.8 stars. Minus a couple of snags, the food and service was on point. I would recommend BJ's for a group of 10 or less to be sat at the same table. Our setup was a little wonky with an L-shaped configuration. It worked, but it wasn't quiet ideal. Let's get into the details. The protein bowl is my go-to and it doesn't disappoint. Although, I did try many of the items at the table and most were great! The one surprise at the table were the Brussels sprouts. While the picture doesn't do it justice, they were flavorful and crispy! Highly recommend! And there were some pizooki virgins in the group, but their cookie dishes went back to the kitchen licked clean! And the wings are always an easy pleaser. Overall, this was a fairly positive experience, but there are a few items that could absolutely be improved. I felt forgotten about making the reservation. During the initial call, they said their supervisor would call back shortly to confirm since they were a bit busy. I waited 4 hours and had to call to make another request. Luckily Kevin got me squared away. As with many big groups, one dish was forgotten about and didn't make it out until about 15 minutes after everyone else's. The flat bread had a soggy bottom. You can probably skip the jambalaya, because it doesn't really taste like the jambalaya you're wanting. And while we gave the benefit of the doubt and thought the chicken sandwich was just well seasoned and maybe the frying oil was old, we were wrong. It was just burnt and tasted like it (zoom in on the pic). Definitely some areas for improvement. read more

So, 2 is a real low rating for me, I'm usually pretty forgiving. Let's start with the positives. This place is very clean, our server was friendly, and the atmosphere and ambience here is decent. That's really where the positives ended today sadly. The food, let me start by saying we were a party of 9, at noon. The restaurant was not very crowded at all, less than 50% capacity, and we did call ahead. The table mostly ordered burgers, and chicken sandwiches, I myself ordered the sirloin. The first part that absolutely put me off was the waitress asked how I would like it cooked, but then specified they only cook down to medium, and the other options are medium well or well. My initial reaction was "seriously," and she confirmed yes seriously, so I guess I'm goin with medium. That is actually absolutely not ok to me that you cannot choose how you want your steak cooked, I have never heard this policy at a single other restaurant on earth. Burger policy maybe, but a steak? Ridiculous. So anyway, onto the next part, the food took an ENTIRE 60 minutes to make it to the table. That was an incredibly long wait time for some lunch options. The first thing I noticed on my food was the broccoli was old and even becoming moldy. Apart from the broccoli being black on the florets from the mold, it was shriveled up and flaccid. On top of all that, it wasn't even steamed all the way... old, flaccid, moldy, half cooked broccoli. Yikes. Now the steak, totally hard to cut, hard to chew, and fully well done.... I also got the Chicken Tortilla Soup, and it was a bowl of pure salt, it was intense... At this point? You may be asking yourself if I sent it back, I didn't. This was a business meal, and we had a strict timeline that we already went well over. If I was personally paying for this meal I would have asked for a refund, sent all the food back, and left. I am absolutely disappointed personally, and we will not be bringing any employees back to BJ's after this experience again. Unless something drastically changes here, I suggest you stay with the local options and skip the chain. Since the other food was at least palatable, and the waitress was friendly and attentive, I'll throw them a bone with the 2 stars, but my plate specifically was easily 0 out of 5 stars. read more

Came in 5 minutes before our 5 pm, greeted and seated right away for party of 14 to celebrate a birthday. Pretty much all the food we ordered was great. Wanted to order some wings for appetizer unfortunately they are out and luckily we got the last order for the calamari. I wanted medium for my ribeye but it was more medium well and the meat has some weird taste like it's old. Everything else was great. The French dip had about 2 tbsp of au jus in the cup, there were no onions when there were supposed to be and they didn't give us the fries we ordered. We received the wrong flavors with piezookie trio that we ordered. And on top of everything it was 10 minutes late getting out to us. We had ordered at 4pm to avoid the Saturday rush and it was still an awful experience. Each food pairing was an incredibly surprising portion and were very well thought out. They pass out to go boxes, knowing you can't possibly eat it all! Came in on a Saturday at 4:40pm and was told it'll be a 25 minute wait for a table of 2. It is nice how they put your name and number down to let you know when you're next on the waitlist. However, the guy typed the wrong number so we were never notified and when they called out the name, they called out the name of the server we were assigned to instead of the customer's name. We realized this after we asked after waiting for 30 minutes. I understand it gets busy, but that seems like a very rookie mistake. We were seated quickly after a different lady realized the mistake. We were seated and in about 5 minutes our server came and took our drink orders. Elijah was an excellent server. He was prompt with everything and checked in on us at perfect times. We also gave our food orders at the same time because they were really busy. We ordered the following: - 3-course Prime Rib dinner, clam chowder, white cheddar mashed potatoes, garlic vegetables - Slow roasted sirloin and baby back ribs combo, side of house salad and fries - pizookie: we got the original. It's good with the cookie and vanilla ice cream. The cookie might be a bit too sweet for some though after a few bites The house salad was a lot more than I expected with lettuce, diced tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, crotons. It was good. The roasted sirloin was perfectly medium rare. The knife just had a very difficult time cutting through the tendon-y parts. There were more ribs than I expected as well. The meat came off the bone very easily. I do wish there was more seasoning to make it more flavorful. The sides of fries were really good. I loved how it was so crispy! The prime rib was good and flavorful, but the piece served had a lot of uncooked fat. The roasted vegetables were bland and uncooked. The mash potatoes were creamy and yummy! The clam chowder was also really creamy and tasted exactly how it was expected to taste. The environment was loud, but not to the point where you can hear other customer's conversations. It's a great place to watch the game with all the TVs throughout the as well. The way they set up the tables and bar feels very personable to the group in your party. I do wish there were more waiting area chairs because it is always busy. I also recommend the person running the front to repeat the number that was said to verify the number entered was correct. The prices here are very reasonable for the amount of food you are getting. The quality is mostly on the positive side, but there was a lot of uncooked fat on the prime rib. I don't mind waiting, but the experience during the wait just put me off after the mistake. read more

It wasn't the most pleasant expierence I've had at a restaurant. We went for a work dinner to celebrate, there was a good amount of us but with that, we figured we'd get great service, but we were wrong. The food took forever to come out and when it did it was cold and truly not even worth eating. There were two people in our group who got their food so late the rest of the team was done eating and boxed up their food. Myself along with more than half the team barely ate anything because it was not very good at all. The two waitresses were nice and pleasant so that's the only reason they got 2 stars instead of 1. I personally will not be going back there again, Texas Roadhouse is a much better choice save the money and take the drive. The vibe was just way off. read more

I stop by here during a work trip to visit with my grandma. They have a great week day special of an entree side salad and drink for like 15 dollars. What a steal. It was about 4:30 in the afternoon, when Gayle and I had finished our respective shopping here at the Shayden Summit. Land Ocean already had a 30 minute wait, and as we were both a little "hangry", when guessed that BJ's might have a shorter wait. That one was 15 minutes and we settled in as the check-in line grew. It did seem a bit early to be fighting the dinner crowd. BJ's is a chain of which we've been in other parts of the country. I've always found the beer selection to be outstanding and this time around I wasn't disappointed with my choice of a reasonably priced Belgian Pirate. Gayle was equally pleased with a sparking rose, which started off our early evening fairly well. Our booth was comfortable, and even with the busy and happy ambience, we enjoyed our relative privacy. Table service was friendly and attentive in the right spots. Thanks Pinto. However, speed from the kitchen was a little slow, maybe owing to the MLK holiday weekend crowds. Food portions were generous and I though that my grilled chicken club (with regular fries) was tasty, albeit a little bit too salty. Gayle enjoyed here salmon-based salad, but wished she could have ordered dressing on the side, as the kitchen applied way too much. Not worth it. I paid $27 for the cherry chipotle salmon. The couscous was way too salty - I ate it anyway but am now back at work with a very upset stomach. The server acted like she was going to take it off my bill, but she didn't. Also, the photo on the menu showed a large, thick portion of fish (like a center piece), but this portion was very small (like the very tip of the tail). I wish I had complained that if they were going to give me half a serving, it should cost half the price. My husband ordered a pazookie (?) meal (the menu for those is hidden in the back of the menu book), and though he was happy with the $13 price, he is hungry 30 minutes later because the portion was so small. Came here last Thursday night the 11th I believe. Got there around 8pm and was seated pretty quickly since I went by myself. My server Ahliyana (sorry not sure if I'm spelling her name correctly) went above and beyond that night. She had a positive attitude, greeted me in a friendly manner, and was very genuine in her personality. Despite it being a very busy night (I waited approximately 30 min for my appetizer) she was very attentive and offered me drinks in a timely manner. Went to BJ's Brewhouse this weekend and had the new S'mores Pizookie--such a fun summertime dessert! The marshmallows had a nice toasty flavor and paired perfectly with the gooey cookie base. BJ's always delivers quick service and our food came out fast. We were seated right away on a Sunday, which was a nice surprise.
