    Vegetarian Omelette was huge

I honestly never have been a big fan of Black Bear Diner regardless of their location and today wasn't any different. Their service and ambiance is great but I just don't dig their food! Perhaps it's just me but I think there is better. On a plus note their portions are huge!

Black Bear Diner was near my motel when I was taking a vacation in Reno so I decided to have breakfast there. The restaurant is clean and inviting. I was quickly seated and the server was friendly and prompt. I ordered the Steak & Eggs breakfast special and black coffee. My coffee was regularly topped off. The food came out quickly and the presentation was excellent. Eggs over easy was on point and steak exceeded expectations. Overall I was very satisfied with my breakfast at Black Bear Diner and will consider coming back the next time I am in town!

Susie is an great waitress, even though she has been up since 4:00 am! Great service and great food! We enjoyed ourselves

I love this place so much! Every Black Bear Diner I've gone to is always so comforting to me. I don't know if it's the cozy cabin lounge style or the feel of back in the day easy-going breakfast grub, and with the sweet older folks there early morning just makes it more enjoyable (it's like having my grandparents there). The service is absolute welcoming all the time. I love it when places like this have the consistency of kindness. Call me lame but their newspaper theme of menu is my favorite. My go-to order is always homemade corned beef hash, ultimate fave at Black Bear. I do need to come here more often at later times because I have never ordered their lunch or dinner before. Waiting time is not bad at all, so no need to get frustrated easily. Thanks Black Bear Diner for being an awesome breakfast spot in the Western+Midwest, y'all are my favorite!

We ordered the Chicken 'N Waffle, Country Chicken Fried Steak, Breakfast Burrito, and Eggs Benedict. The inside was nice and the server was great, which really made the experience enjoyable. The food was good overall, just not something that completely stood out. Everything was solid and we left satisfied. I'd definitely come back and try more items.

Denver omelette, breakfast potatoes, and biscuits and gravy. Enough for 2 people!

I had a GREAT experience ordering from door dash. Prices were fair- for 20.00 my husband and I could share the Denver omelette, breakfast potatoes- then we added gravy to the biscuits for a couple dollars and that was like a whole other meal! Will be eating here again. Thankful to have found a good breakfast spot with biscuits and gravy! Food was plated well and arrived quickly, speaking to good service. I have never been inside as we ordered door dash. But will go in person sometime.

The service was ok. We were seated quickly but it took a while for our server to take our order. The food was good. Pretty decent breakfast if you're in Reno.

Of the two locations I do prefer the layout of this establishment over their other counterpart. (They have a cool gift section) The service was great, and accommodating. They were fairly busy and our server checked on us regularly. I ordered the bear's choice which comes with two pancakes, waffle, or two French toast, bacon, ham, or sausage, and two eggs made to order. I ordered two eggs over medium and I chose ham. It was an up charge, but I selected the cinnamon roll french toast and it was delicious. Highly recommend. The only negative I'd note is that the portions seemed smaller than the other locations I've tried. The eggs and ham were certainly smaller/less when I compared my photos of the same meal. Perhaps this was just the day I went, but certainly worth noting.

Came here for lunch during a week day. We had the best server! I wish I could remember her name. She was funny and ensured we always had everything we needed. Our food came out fresh and it was definitely tasty, however the portions were so small compared to the sparks location. I felt like I ordered the kids chicken strip basket lol. Also? I loved their honey mustard. It was my favorite dipping sauce. I'd still come back though!

Popped in for a medical seminar. They served a number of choices. I opted for an easy go to. Taco Salad. Boy was i definitely surprised with the presentation not to mention the taste. Food came out hot to the table. The waitstaff was friendly and efficient for the crowd size. It was a relaxing experience, held in the back conference area.

The service was pretty good. We came at a time when they were not too busy and we were able to come in and out rather quickly. We had a good waitress. The tri-tip sandwich was a bit dry, but the chicken crisper we had were pretty good. They have three kinds of hot sauces, which makes it very convenient for those would like different ingredients of heat. It is a nice place, it has a country vibe to it.l, and they serve breakfast lunch and dinner.

    Dust corners
    Lauren T.

The service was great! The food was just okay. The most important part cleanliness is where it really disappointed. The booths had visible dust. I was having to tell my toddler to stay away from the booth corners because they were dirty. The photo frames were also visibly dusty. Won't be back due to concerns about how clean the kitchen might be.

It was cooked exactly how I requested, juicy, flavorful, and easily one of the better burgers I've had in Reno. I'd give it a 9.2/10. My wife ordered the macaroni and cheese. She thought the flavor was delicious, but the sauce was a little thinner than she prefers, so she gave it a 6/10. He did pull a nice bottle of tequila down for us to admire, and told us about some other fancy top shelf stuff they had. I appreciate they were even open. Service was great, everyone looked taken care of. The place looked clean; and the food looked great everywhere, ours just flopped. All of the other patrons there were probably late 50s and up at 2pm on Memorial day. This is one of the most expensive underwhelming lunches I've had ever had in Reno. I am sure if we had said something they would have given us new fries, but that isnt the point. You have a price set well above average so I expect that it will be executed suprbly.
