We went to the BJ's on Broadway for a late lunch. First impressions were not good. There was an overflowing trash can near the front door and trash everywhere on the ground. Service was fine but the food was not worth the price we paid. There are only two things I would order again...the cole slaw and the pazooki and even it was stuck to the pan around the edges. The ribs were dry and had about a half cup of meat on them total, the asparagus was overcooked and the mashed potatoes were soupy. The prime rib dip was OK but just small bits and pieces and the au jus was extremely salty. The Caesar salad was chopped lettuce, dressing and cheese in a bowl...no croutons. BJ's used to be a favorite of ours but the last two time we were there is was just disappointing. There are better places to eat in Tucson. read more

I don't give 1 stars very often as my track record proves but this one gets a well earned 1. Worthless. I called on the 8th to reserve a table for 15 people on the 15th. Called back on the 14th to see if I could make it 20 people just in case- no problem, they pulled my reservation right back up. On the day of, the next day, I happened to get in touch to ask some questions about happy hour and the check- and discovered they did not have a reservation for me. Gone. Just.. vanished. The manager got on to answer my questions about the happy hour, but I was more concerned about my lost reservation. I was sent back to the front desk where I was given the reservation and they said "sorry for the miscommunication." I guess that's what you say for losing a reservation? Sure glad we didn't just show and get denied on a Friday. The food was fine. The waiter was nice. But then there was the birthday cookie. We waited around 30+ minutes for it, long done, our bills paid, and asked twice- and on the third time, we were told the cookie was given to the table behind us, where they consumed it. How nice! A free cookie for them! Eventually the cookie was brought out. Lots of "sorry" but no refund, no compensation, nothing. I'll never return to this location again. Worthless. If this how they treat losing a reservation and pathetic service, I'll go elsewhere. read more

Went to the BJ's on North Oracle Saturday evening. As usual the food was good, but the service was worse than usual. After being seated for 10-15 minutes we waved down some staff to have them send a waitress. The staff that responded said was not not our waitress but could take a drink order and get some water started (very nice). We ordered drinks and our meals (we have been many times and knew what we wanted). After another 5-10 minutes our waitress Jasmine delivered drinks but no water. Water came soon after. The meal was delivered and the food was good, as usual. After completing our meal Jasmine came by adjacent tables several times never noting we were all done. After sitting for about 20 minutes, we had piled our plates on the table and finally got Jasmines attention. When we gave Jasmine our phone number for points on our Premier Rewards Plus membership, she could not find it (we verified the number and account when we got home). We finally got out about 30 minutes after we finished our meal. Total dining experience 2 hours. Over the years the service has been spotty, from good to slow. This was the worst by far. This restaurant will be our last choice from now on. read more

**Red flag for big groups** I contacted this place weeks in advance to ask if they could accommodate a big group for a graduation celebration. They said they could, I contacted them a few times to make sure about time and number of people in our group. I even got a call earlier that day to confirm those details. I had initially mentioned the group would be 12-16 and when I called to confirm 14 the person I spoke to said they would have sitting arrangements for 15. I was a little delayed (5 minutes) but I let the rest of my party know the reservation details and that our tables would be in the back room. Imagine my surprise when I arrived and the table we had was awfully crowded. They then told me when they arrived the table setup was originally only for 10 people, and they had to add chairs to accommodate 13. It was very uncomfortable and it got even worse because I made the mistake of ordering Prime Rib and there was no elbow room whatsoever to maneuver a fork and a steak knife. Service was great, and the food was good too. I would have been OK with the sitting arrangements if we had showed up without prior notice. But since I had asked if they could accommodate our group, this totally ruined the experience for me. Had I known I would have chosen a different place. read more

Ugh! Chain restaurant!!!! My top note, the bartender Jorge was wonderful! Very accommodating, kind, helpful and attentive. The beer is good, drinks are good, and the atmosphere. Why such a low rating? Well, lunchtime on a Thursday, we walk in, the bar is full, so we ask for a booth. Looking around and seeing 4-6 empty booths, 2 person, and full size open, and we're told we need to put our name down-and it will be a 10-15 minute wait!?!?! What? Who are all of those booths for? Irritated as 2 starving people can be, we go up to the bar and sit in 2 chairs available at the bar. Not comfortable, but a place to sit. We order burgers-medium, with pink...hubby orders his with an over easy egg on it. Our food arrives, NO PINK, a crisply little hockey puck! And his egg was cooked to crispy as well. We decided to take the beef patty as is, but must have the egg remade. Jorge quickly took care of the egg. I think this is a restaurant that does WAY too much to do any one thing well. What is good? Everything. Both food & service. You can never go wrong with BJ's. I have always been a firm believer that you should generally stick to ordering only what a restaurant is known for, such as getting pizza (instead of pasta) at a pizzeria or pho (instead of a rice dish) at a pho restaurant. BJ's is well known for their deep dish pizzas and brewing their own beer. The last thing I would want to do is to offend anyone, but who orders steak at BJ's? If you ask me, it is quite uncommon. My little sister, being the steak novice that she was, decided to order ribeye despite my dissuasions. No one hates being wrong more than I do...and boy was I in for a surprise! Who ended up eating most of the steak and came back the next two days for ribeye? ME. Call me crazy, but I like the ribeye here way more than Morton's. It is tender, juicy, well marinated, and a mouthful of yummy. Anddd you get it for the bargain price of twenty bucks! My other most recent discovery at BJ's was their gourmet mac n cheese under the Small Bites section. BEST THING EVER. The mac n cheese is extra cheesy, has large bacon pieces throughout, and Goldfish chip crumbs baked on top to add an extra crunch kick. And of course, you never leave BJ's without ordering a Pizookie, which is always an absolute must for me. Just your average restaurant. I was not wowed by the food or any one staff member. I got an $8.00 lunch special of unlimited soups and salads. I ordered the Cesar salad, cheddar broccoli soup, and their clam chowder. The clam chowder was not very good. The cheddar broccoli soup was very good however the salad tasted very fresh. When I got there I let my waiter know that I was on an hour lunch. There was no sense of urgency on our visit and I was almost late back to work. Normally I would not comment to this but it was not very busy on the day we visited and so I found it strange they could not accommodate our 1 hour lunch. Overall 3/5 stars. I may return if I am in the area for the soup and salad lunch deal. I will not go out of my way to attend for lunch. I might give dinner a shot sometime. read more

I see no reason not to give it 5 stars! My wife and I both really wanted a good burger! My wife got the Brisket Bacon Burger(picture below) and I got the Crispy Jalapeño Burger! They bot were amazing, I added bacon to mine for $1 and it made it even better. I got the skinny fries and my wife got he wedges, after seeing the skinny fries I thought I got dropped off but they were actually more tasty than the wedge fries! Came for the pizookie and the pizookie trio did not disappoint. The "pro" is that instead of 1 pizookie flavor, you get to have 3. Variety is the spice of life, right? More is always better! BUT, the "con" is about the amount of center "goo" of the cookie. You know what I'm talking about,right? The part that was just a little undercooked so its all gooey? To me, that's the BEST part of the pizookie. The problem with the trio is that they're smaller than the normal pizookie. Each of the mini trio flavors only had a single bite of "goo" in the middle. In comparison, normal pizookie has about 4-5 bites worth of "goo." So you're missing out on some of the BEST part of the pizookie by going with the trio. I know what I'm talking about. It was a random Tuesday afternoon, I was feeling hungry...as usual...then I thought of a new place to try. Bam! It hit me, I always drove by this restaurant and told myself I would try it one day! You get this delicious taste of the slightly sweet glazed sauce with a hint of spice in it, in which all us Thai people love spice! Only complaint would be I wish I had more, just because it was so good but I knew this is just the appetizer! So calm yourself down Roger, let's make it to the main dish! After several debates with my stomach I decided to not order another appetizer dish, instead I went ahead and ordered a deep dish "Mediterranean Pizza". Why Pizza you ask? Well from hearing from family and friends, I've heard they made pretty good pizza and I still search for the best pizza in town. The Mediterranean pizza consisted of grilled chicken, basil pesto, roasted garlic, Kalamata olives, sun-dried tomatoes, feta cheese and sliced peperoncinis. Mouth watering? Yes! Had my first bison burger at BJ's and I'm happy to say that it was a great one too. It was perfectly cooked to medium rare and seasoned well. The bison burger that they offer is a barbecue style with a tangy barbecue sauce and a side of slaw dressed with a tangy vinaigrette that accompanies the burger perfectly. I have always really liked BJ's, they have a great atmosphere and cozy ambience. The service has always been really well as the servers seem to be well trained and very knowledgable about the restaurant and what they have to offer. The wait for food is never too long either. Wifey and I decided to give it a shot and it was pretty decent, better than my memory had given it credit for. We stopped in at the bar for happy hour and the deals were okay, not "knock your socks off," but I've also seen worse. They have a larger beer selection than I recall too, but I'm still not a fan of BJ brews...and their taps were on the fritz which definitely didn't help. The food was good, sliders were very good, and the staff was super friendly. My biggest qualms with the food, though, revolve around my wife having an allergy to chili peppers and so much stuff was already premade or prerubbed with chili seasonings, so the options for those with an allergy get very limited. We'll likely be going back, the atmosphere is great, it's just tough for us when the food options become so limited. read more

Lunch at BJs on Sunday afternoon is not Came here for lunch on Sunday afternoon at 12:30pm not too crowded. The server is nice, had to split the bill in three messed it up but her came back to correct it. I had the ziti pasta that does not come with any sides, so I added a bowl of chili. Both were really good. The pasta was delicious. Al dente, with lots of meaty sauce. He check on us regularly and apologized for the delay in our drinks and food before we even had a chance to even get "mad" about it. Like i said it was a busy day so the kitchens and bar were backed up, but he was able to keep our minds off of it completely. He even offered us a complimentary mini pizookie at the end, for seemingly no reason which was so kind of him! He seriously was one of the best servers i had As for the food, i highly recommend their broccoli cheddar soup. Same with the chicken pesto pasta... ok texture, cooked ok, no flavor. For the wine selection... even the Total Wine store a few yards north has better selections. The Estancia Cab seemed cooked and flat. For dessert, a huge, sweet, salted caramel pizookie attacked our table. It was prepared as you'd expect, but again the flavor... meh... I ordered the Tomato & Mozzarella Salad w/ Balsamic dressing, and the Roasted Turkey Cobb Sandwich (w/ the bleu cheese dressing on the side). Everything was delicious. I have not been to a BJ for some time, and was quite surprised. we had a ravioli dish that was just yummy, (so about a week after visiting this location on our trip to Tucson AZ we went to the location at the 101/northern in Glendale) and was informed they no longer have it. we were totally bummed. our server was very efficient and paid close attention to our table, we were so please I gave him a 30% tip, he made our visit very nice. I am total sorry I couldn't remember his name to give him a thumbs up. but I am sure he know he does good and he earned his tip read more
