I had a situation today where the moving company wouldn't even touch my washing machines to move them with the rest of our furniture. But I called these guys at (BK Movers). They came through and moved these huge laundry machines out of the TINY laundry room, down a spiral staircase, into my new house, up the stairs and into the new laundry room, without one scratch anywhere. Found BK movers through thumbtack. As I was moving from a studio to a 1 br in the same complex a couple of floors up--I was looking for someone who wouldn't require a "minimum" hire of 4 hours. BK movers offered the most flexible rate (charging by the half hour after first two hours) and gave the best price by far. Jaden was very communicative throughout the process, and accommodated me when last minute the move in date was changed because of unforeseen circumstances related to the prior tenants. The day of move Jaden showed up early, just in case it would be hard to find us. He and his colleague were extremely professional and considerate! They asked where I would want every single box to go, and even broke down and rebuilt furniture in the new place. Little things like arranging heavy pieces for me make a huge difference-- as a small woman who has lived alone for 5 years, I have borne the struggle of moving furniture alone and it was such a relief to not have to go through that again! Thanks to their efficiency the entire move was done in a mere 2 hours--a record for apartment turnover in this building. This review is long overdue. Jaden, Greg, and all the BK guys are the most reliable and kind movers in town. I have used them repeatedly and refer them to everyone I know. They are careful and conscientious, asking what pieces of furniture I want wrapped and what I don't so that they can make as speedy a move as possible. There's no lagging around with these guys. They always finish quicker than I expect without a single thing scratched or broken. They've moved my upright grand piano multiple times and even came back another day to help move it to another room (because I changed my mind) and they did it for free! They also made multiple stops for my most recent move across town, dropping off big pieces of furniture that I was giving to friends, and they beat me to every stop. BK Movers was the very first company I contacted for my move from Los Angeles to San Diego... a random choice... and Jaden not only explained the ways his company goes above and beyond his competitors he also encouraged me to read his company's reviews, shop around and decide. It was tough to decide which company to go with for the move but they seemed the most reasonably priced and Jaden was so responsive and helpful in scheduling the move so I went with them! The 2 guys that moved me,Dan & Greg) were awesome!! They did a great job and were really nice. We moved my 1 bedroom apartment with a pillow top bed and sectional couch (which had to be brought up 3 flights of stairs) in 4 hours so I thought that was great. I did my research for the company to hire probably a month in advance, finally decided to give BK movers try, since we don't move that often, we were looking for a company where we can create a long time relationship, so in the future I can feel confident with just picking up the phone and call them to have it done again. On the day of the move they showed up on time no surprises, very satisfied with the first impression. They were ready to go, and from there, things just started moving and very fast, little to no conversation, but don't get me wrong, they are very friendly, and seem to me at that point very honest people. Long story short, by the end of the move I felt like some friends came and helped us with the move, with the big difference.... they are very professionals and know what they're doing. These guys are amazing! Two guys from here did what 4 guys couldn't. I purchased a 220 gallon very thick heavy glass fish tank and wooden stand that was loaded onto my Chevy Silverado with a fork lift. Once I got home I got 4 guys at my home depot to help me unload the beast but that was a total fail. Next I called a few forklift rental places they wanted on average about 300 to 400 dollars regardless how long or little I needed it for plus I would still need guys to bring it in my home as the forklift wouldn't fit. Next I got on Craigslist and looked for movers. After a lot of research I went with these guys. Not just because of the price but because of the details of how they planned on bringing it down and in my home. They weren't the cheapest but they did sound like they knew what they were doing. When I saw two guys I didn't think it was going to happen, i was expecting 3 or 4 guys, but Jayden is a BEAST! Not only did they make it happen they were very courteous friendly and were not just trying to rush the job they did their best to do it safely where nobody got hurt and nothing was damaged. If Jayden is on the job I recommend these guys 100% to anyone needing to move their entire home furnishings or someone like me that just needs one ginormous, expensive, delicate, item moved. We had such a fun time the first time we used them and such care was taken with my mother in laws things. Due to serious health issues we called at short notice explained our problem and Jaden fit us in right away! My MIL would not hear of using anyone else and neither would I. If you want no nonsense, respectful, caring people this is the place. The guys are fast and hardworking. No matter how much distracting my MIL tried to do they kept the pace. I have to say if my MIL had her choice she would probably marry, adopt and move in with the whole team! Not one item was damaged or lost in either move. Plain and simple... these guys are fantastic! I needed my current, stacked washer/dryer brought down 2 huge flights of very tight stairs and 2 new units that I bought on-line, brought back up the same huge staircase. I called around and he was the only one that would give me a flat rate. And, he scheduled me for the very next day! They arrived 15 minutes early (that's a first for any vendor I've ever hired) and texted me that they were early, but to take my time. Once I arrived home, they helped me move furniture out of the way, unhooked the current unit, did the switch safely and taking the time to make sure they didn't harm the units or scratch the walls or floors, and hooked up the new units for me. Yes, they came early and waited outside. Yes, they moved everything safely and competently. But more important, Jaden was the only one who really wanted to help me with my rather small move. I hired BK Movers for a rather bizarre move over the weekend, and ended up needing to move through the backyard of our current house into our new house next door. Despite the odd circumstances, Jaden was super fast responding to my millions of questions, and requests for suggestion. He was honest about whether I needed a truck, and helpful without being pushy. Fantastic. Day of the move, Jaden had called the night before to confirm. His two movers were professional and arrived early to our move. They came in and assessed what needed to be moved, heard that I had a priority of items that I wanted help with (wanted to save money and only have them move what we absolutely could not) and after a walk through of both properties, they remembered where items were supposed to go. The whole team really made the process easy for me as the owner. They were extremely careful and moved far more than I thought they would be able to in the time allotted. My only regret would not be hiring BK Movers to do more. In one more hour, the BK Movers we had could have moved the remainder of our furniture, which took us the rest of the afternoon and a lot of muscle to move ourselves.
