Because they were the company that originally repaired it, I called them first. I completely understand that more than a year has passed and that their warranty may technically be over. I was not demanding a free repair. But when a customer paid over $400 to fix a problem and comes back with the same issue, I would expect at least some accountability and an attempt at customer satisfaction. Instead, I was simply told that it had been more than a year and I would have to pay roughly the same amount again. No discount, no reduced diagnostic fee, no credit toward the previous repair, and no other option was offered. That means I would be close to $800 in repair costs for the same washing machine and the same problem, while a new washer is around $899. That makes absolutely no sense to me. We also have a one year old baby at home, so suddenly being without a working washing machine is already extremely frustrating. Having the company that previously repaired the exact issue show no willingness to work with a returning customer made the experience even worse. I understand warranties have expiration dates. What disappointed me is the complete lack of flexibility or goodwill after an expensive previous repair failed to give me confidence that the problem was actually resolved long term. I told them on the phone that I was unhappy with the service and would be finding another company. Unfortunately, after this experience, I would not use them again.
