Immediately after the delivery of a Brand New GE Fridge to my home I Discovered that the '3rd Door' was Not Functioning and there was a Box on the top shelf with ?? In it !! I quickly called the Delivery Driver explaining the Situation and his response was "Oh, We Don't Do That" ! I'm not sure what that even meant ?? I contacted the Store where I purchased my New Fridge and they referred me to Lake Appliance ! I was so impressed right from the Beginning with this company's Communication and Within a few Days Christian, their Rep, was At my Home. He apologized for my experience with the Delivery Service and Quickly opened the Box, removed the Plastic that was All Over the Outside and Inside then attached the Shelving on the Doors. He was the Most Kind, Courteous, and Knowledgeable Repairman I have ever met. He Tried his best to Fix the double door situation, replacing the Seal and even heating the Seal Between the Two Doors to no avail. Eventually Christian had to Order a Totally New Right Double Door Assembly for me. It was shipped directly to my home and I immediately contacted Lake Appliance and was added to their busy Schedule. I was so happy to see Christian return again since I Understood that he definitely knew what he was doing ! Do to this Fridge Being Brand New there was No Charge for their Amazing Service ! They only do what they want to do. They order parts and charge for them and put them in and then tell you its something else and its more money, Mis diagnosed the first time. These guys are rude and not worth it. The office loses paperwork and theres no communication between the office and the techs. They come when there not supposed to and never follow through with what they say. The tech named michael is probably the worse. Parts & Labor price inflated - set by technician; no written itemized quote/invoice before work begins; lack of transparency. Turn around time one week. Requested service on microwave and dishwasher. No special service call rate for 2 appliances. Charged me over the phone $62.50 and $185 respectively in order to dispatch a technician. Labor and parts would be determined by the technician once there. Next day arrival by the tech. Not rude but not friendly either. Determined the microwave needed a door micro switch and the dishwasher a UI board. The tech said that the total cost for the microwave would be $270.02 and the dishwasher would be $559.05 (parts & Labor). Although I thought the charges were excessive, especially for two appliances at the same time, I agreed. I had believed that the service charges paid over the telephone had been deducted from these amounts. I found out later that they were not. The technician's charges were verbal, without giving me an invoice or itemize statement of the charges. He said this was done by the office and not by him. He had me sign for the agreed upon parts and labor charges. My credit card was immediately debited for that amount. He also informed me that the parts would be sent to my home address, and that they would arrive in a few days (they did). In addition, he mentioned that each part would be charged $17 for a shipping fee. I asked him why each part was charged a shipping fee when both came from the same parts company and were shipped at the same time in the same box. He said it had something to do with keeping track of each service warranty, and it was the office policy. The tech said he would be back in a week to install the parts. I asked, if the parts will arrive in a few days, why did I have to wait a week for install. He said, "because that was his earliest opening for a service call." He returned a week later and installed the parts. By now I had learned the initial telephone service call charges had not been deducted from the $559.05 & $270.02 parts & labor charged by the tech, but had been charged to my credit card by the office when I applied for the service call. When I confronted tech, he said he thought that was understood at the time of his verbal quote. Most companies will give you a written itemized statement or quote before work begins. Get one! Most companies want to be transparent. This company leaves the transparency up to the technician. Their techs determine labor and parts cost, but this is done verbally. After the tech finished the install, I later received an email with my billing statement. Microwave: Parts, $297 (Micro switch, no more than a $5.00 switch); and labor $350; Tax $8.02, Total: $455.02. Dishwasher: Parts $297, Labor $300, Tax $24.55, Total: $621.55 Grand Total: $1076.57. One hour of install time (Total Labor $650). If my wife hadn't wanted the appliances fixed when the tech came for the install, I wouldn't have let him do it. He had deceived us about the parts and labor total costs. I am assuming they get their commission from the total costs of repairs. The fact that they get to control and determine parts and labor costs, gives them an incentive to inflate prices. My bad, I should have done more research and read more of the yelp reviews. Scheduled for a repair man to come out and fix my disabled GE dishwasher that periodically gives me grief. Performed my periodic run of the dishwasher and water began leaking on the floor. So easy to schedule someone to come out. Gave them a call and had an appointment in a timely manner. Found that it was a misaligned drain pump, possibly a defect. The technician came out and gave it a fix, but if the leak returns, he recommended that it would be more cost effective to buy a new dishwasher. Bad on me for not getting an extended warranty, but I will keep that in mind when making an additional purchase if need be. Easy appointment, cost effective, great customer service. Save yourself the trouble and DO NOT use Lake Appliance Repair. They do not respond to calls regarding the problem with my service call. I had to call 6 times to try to get resolution of my issue and finally called me after I used the text service to customer service. It then took a manager two days to call, and he offered only half off of a follow-up $99 service inspection and nothing off the potential service fix. To this point I'm out $59 for the virtual service call and $160 for the part that they said would fix the problem. I ordered the part as instructed and it did NOT fix my issue. They also told me that it was a simple "slide out the old part and slide in the new replacement part." This statement was completely wrong. I had to remove all of the freezer drawers and detach the entire rack holding the ice maker. There was a hidden screw that totally prevented the part from sliding in or out. This service call issue is the most frustrating interaction that I have ever had for a service issue. No one is interested in fixing their mistake. This is the first 1 star review that I have ever given in my life. Having owned a business, I try not to post items like this, but nobody is interested in making this issue right. read more

This is Francis Holminski Just had my refrigerator leveled, and it did not require a flooring fix. The wheels were adjusted and it's just fine. So your response to my review talked about your fee which had nothing to do with my complaint. So your technician's assessment that it was a flooring issue was wrong! And your comment that "no further appliance-related (sic) service could rectify the issue"was wrong! It took just 15 minutes to adjust the wheels of the refrigerator and it is now good. I stand by my comment that the technician you sent didn't even try to adjust the refrigerator. So the fact that you "stand by our technician's assessment" is wrong! I could have spent untold time and money chasing the flooring assessment which turned out to be bogus! I could go on but I don't think you care! We had Lake Appliance Repair come to look at a Whirlpool washer under a Whirlpool service contract. The tech showed up and I informed the washer was leaking on the washer clean cycle. I told the tech what was going on. He took the top off the washer, took a flashlight and looked down the machine. He said it was leaking from the over suds vent. I asked if he was going to run a cycle to see where the water was coming from, and he said " I don't have time for that. " He took the back off the washer and looked at the back of the machine and said, I don't see anything. I again asked if he was going to run a cycle and said no, He had seen enough, put the back on the washer. I guess I asked too many questions, I asked him why even come out if he wasn't going to do anything. I came back in the laundry room a couple minutes later and he was gone! Another appliance repair dealer said the tub has a crack and cannot be repaired, but you have to fill the washer to see the leak. read more

Requested service on two appliances, dryer and dishwasher, Whirlpool booked these guys. Tech arrives 10 days later with zero knowledge of issues reported. "Fixes" dryer and had to order parts to repair dishwasher, scheduled second visit to install. In the meantime, dryer is not repaired as told by technician, still making lots of loud noise. Tech returns to finally fix dishwasher (2 weeks later). Told him dryer still not fixed, doesn't even want to look at it. Then finally does listen to it run before he leaves, acknowledges still not fixed, promises to order "dryer repair kit" and come back. Never hear from them again. Call to request follow-up and they tell us to call Whirlpool and start over. Then they have the temerity to send email and ask us for "5-star review" for their "one visit service". My parents were referred to Lake Appliance through their GE warranty to repair a brand-new GE dryer in their vacation home. The dryer wasn't drying properly and couldn't complete a load in a single cycle. They first requested a repair in September 2025. A technician came out, claimed to have fixed the issue, and closed the ticket--yet the dryer still had the same problem. A couple of weeks later, my parents requested another repair. Again, a technician said the dryer was fixed and closed the ticket, but nothing changed. This happened a third time: another appointment, another claim that the dryer was repaired, and the same ongoing drying issue. Now, months later, the dryer still doesn't work correctly, but the technicians continue to insist that it does. The warranty company relies solely on the technician's assessment and refuses to take further action. My parents were scheduled for yet another repair visit, but Lake Appliance has now refused to continue service because they don't believe the dryer is malfunctioning. The technicians failed to do their due diligence in confirming the dryer actually worked. They also inexplicably categorized some repair calls as "service calls," which prevents the warranty company from moving forward with a replacement. Overall the experience has been extremely disappointing, and the service has been terrible. As of today, my parents had to purchase a new dryer to replace the malfunctioning dryer. read more

I had a new refrigerator stop working after 8 months. The company had me call Lake Appliance Repair to set up an appointment. They came out and fixed the leak. The next day I had to call them back. Turns out the refrigerator was just no friggin' good. Parts up inside blew after his initial repair. Wasn't his fault. I watched the whole process. He explained what had happened. My warranty company reassigned my stovetop issues to Lake Appliance after Sharper Service screwed up my stove top by ordering the wrong parts. Sharper refused to fix their mistake. I am so glad I was reassigned to Lake Appliance. The tech knew exactly what he was doing and what parts needed to be ordered. The parts came in a few days and my stove was fixed. UPDATE: OK!! They made it right!! We appreciate it!! He called and apologized for ghosting, as they had been super busy!! My dishwasher tanked, so extended warranty came thru and we ordered a new one On Tuesday 2/13 , they are coming out again to service that same fridge again. Ugghh!! 3rd times the charm. I feel like I am being completely ghosted now, the day was January 23 and the repairman came out and fixed my fridge, before he left he put the bottom right fridge on freezer, so I lost all of my fruits and vegetables that were delivered the day that he was here because he made a comment about someone delivering out front. So I lost $125 worth of vegetables and fruits that were only in my fridge for one day, I had to throw all the lemons, grapefruit, lettuce, everything away because you don't freeze that stuff it went to mush. I was told by the sales guy that the manager would be contacting me, and I have just been ignored, I've left messages no one has called me. I want my $125 back for my groceries. I sent them a receipt of what I bought and I have heard nothing from them and I'm not very happy about that at all. It always says to text them so I do but they just ignore me and I'm being really nice about it too. I am a big reviewer, and this is really floored me. This was a good repair place, and I just don't understand why they're not coming out to fix my dishwasher now has nothing to do with the food in my fridge, but why isn't a sales manager making this right? It just seems so wrong to me. Very unprofessional why you won't fix the problem?? I will be happy to change my review if they stop ghosting me. I will be calling RC Willey this morning extended warranty and see why they are not coming out here to finish the job. Please, someone in the managerial department call me as soon as possible, you have my number I am just totally at a loss of why you won't take care of this issue. They were contracted by my extended warranty company to repair an appliance that was running intermittently. They made five visits to try and fix the problem, but it persisted. They replaced the boards and it didn't help. Then they came and replaced another part. At the time of that visit the appliance was running, since it would run intermittently. Immediately after that visit it would not function at all. I called Lake appliance right away and it took them two weeks to come back out. On this visit the repairman said a different part from the one he replaced had gone bad. I pointed out that the only way that could have occurred was if that part coincidentally failed during the last repair, since it was running when he arrived. He just shrugged and said, well it could happen at any time so why not then. He told me he would order a replacement part and scheduled an appointment next week. I pointed out that after 5 visits over 5 months that it was time to deem the appliance unrepairable at which point the warranty company would replace it. He replied that he would never deem it unrepairable and that he has gone out as many as sixteen times on the same appliance. The part didn't come and when I called Lake appliance the day of the appointment they said the repairman was not comfortable coming back to my residence. They didn't even have the courtesy to tell me this ahead of time and I had rearranged my schedule that day to accommodate this visit. So now I've gone from an appliance that would function intermittently to one that is not functioning at all. read more

Purchased our microwave, range and dishwasher from from RC Wiley less than two years ago. The microwave started to spark, and disappointed we didn't get the extended warranty on the microwave. Called around and all the places said it's ok expensive to fix, and cheaper to buy another one. I started to shop for another one, but honestly I love my microwave. It's a higher end microwave/convection oven with all the bells and whistles. So, I ended up contacting Kitchen aid, and they were awesome! Concerned no one got burned, and set up the appointment. Our tech Tim was punctual with texts and calls of where he was at and the time he would arrive. Unfortunately parts have to be ordered, so hopefully Wednesday will be the day to repair. Brett called me approximately 30 minutes prior to arriving on scene. Not in Lake Tahoe. I am so tired of these companies advertising that they are "at the lake." This company is in Reno. They say they only come to Tahoe 2 days a week. The set an appointment 2 to 3 weeks out and then texted a different date and time. They don't answer the phone for hours on end. The answer was that they are not available, except that the date I waited for is apparently a date they said they go to Tahoe. Not everyone is home all day, every day. I changed work and appointments to make the given time. You end up hostage, unless you can go without a washer and dryer for over a month. This is for the repair of a GE product purchased 8 months ago through Costco. Even more weird is that they claimed to have left me a voice-mail. Initially scheduled a appliance repair visit and I was not aware you needed to pay a fee to reserve your appointment. My appointment was cancelled after 24 hours. Next I scheduled a repair session through the manufacturer, Whirlpool, and they actually contacted Lake Appliance Repair and confirmed an appointment. On the day of the visit, no one showed up. The technician patiently listened to our concerns and he educated us on the potential likelihood of the leaking problem we were having before the service was called. He tested all system boards as well as performed visual inspection on the murmuring of the fans, and claimed the fridge is in working order. Highly recommended. Took the day off. Called to verify they were still coming. They called back and said no. I've been waiting for an hour and a half. Wasted my time. Update: They didn't show up for the second appointment as well. No message that they were not coming. I had to call and see what was going on. I asked to speak to a manager. They were busy and I was told they would call me within a day. When calling in you are left on hold for up to 10 minutes, when you do get someone they are from a call center not in the US. I am very disappointed in service I have received. Update: 3 days now. Manager never called... Extremely disappointed in the service... Update Tech finally fixed the ice maker. But adjusted the settings to freezer for the refrigerator compartment. Froze all the fresh food. Had to throw it away. read more

We were having problems with the ice and water dispenser on our new refrigerator which is still covered under the one year warranty. We reached out to our builder to make arrangements for someone to come and look at it. We were put in touch with Lake Appliance Repair and put on the schedule. Dane called the morning of our appointment to let us know he was on his way. He arrived and was able to find the problem quickly and communicated throughout the process. He was efficient and friendly and took the necessary personal protective equipment precautions which made us comfortable having him in our home during Covid-19. The technician analyzed the problem and told us that our dishwasher was not worth fixing. Therefore I replaced it instead of wasting money on repairs. The second call was about our oven. The technician investigated and found nothing wrong. He then spent considerable time locating and downloading supplemental documentation explaining the issues we were having. And all of this was done at the the minimal appointment rate. Their people are very courteous and helpful. They even wear shoe-covers when inside people's homes. The tech that services Incline Village is either lazy or has a goal of ruining your business reputation in Tahoe. Everytime we schedule repair...something happens. Tech didnt read the notes, we provided a code for him to enter, he ignores or the office doesnt provide, tech doesn't answer texts or calls, sorry tech is already back in Reno we will have to reschedule. Next available is a week from today. I'd avoid this company especially in Tahoe and especially if you need them to stick to their schedule and do what they say they will do.
