First time at Black Angus we were seated pretty quickly. The inside is decorated with western items super nice, really enjoyed seeing the images on the walls. Our server was amazing very attentive and helped with our meal selection. He was always checking on us to see if we needed anything. The food is what needed a bit more flavor I would say. We tried the wagon wheel sampler. That was really good my favorite was the buffalo chicken, flavor was amazing. For the main entree I got the fire grilled shrimp. The shrimp were okay not really seasoned. It came with rice once again nothing special, I was also looking forward to my Mac and cheese but no flavor at all. Black Angus provides decent service, good food, a casual atmosphere, at reasonable prices. Nothing "wow", but nothing terrible either. Both visits to this location were to take advantage of their dineLA menu, which they usually offer two options ($25 and $35 menus...see my pics), as well as their standard food and drink menu. They also have the occasional specials, like "Cowboy Day" food and drink specials on our July 24-27 weekend visit. The servers have been friendly and efficient. The manager is friendly and makes his way around to the tables to check on you, but on our last visit, he stood at the table next to us and chatted to his friends/regulars for a good 20-25 minutes. It was a little distracting as he was standing right over my shoulder the whole time. The orders came out correctly, and the steaks were prepared as ordered. This is my first time dining at this location. The service is top-notch. We ordered dinner for two. All of the foods come quickly. However, we saw a dead fly on the table when we were seated. Since we were hungry, I didn't bother to notify the server. However, we are enjoying the food. I noticed it was hot in our section. I saw people use the menu as a paper fan. First, I thought it was the hot weather. Then, when I was going to the restroom (which was located on the other side of the building), it was cool and comfy, but then I realized the AC in my section was not working. I even saw a fan in a dining room. I am not sure why the manager didn't inform us, and I would have chosen another restaurant. Overall, despite the unfortunate AC condition. Black Angus used to be a family favorite but many of their locations have closed through the years. My family decided to do mainly seafood and other dishes for the holidays this year, so I was looking to fill a prime rib craving. The prime rib was cooked a little over medium rare, and was very salty. Usually prime rib with au jus is a perfect pairing, but I felt like saltiness was the predominant flavor of the sauce and the meat itself. The steak soup was good, but the mashed potatoes lacked flavor. Overall, I'd say the food here was average at best. Absolutely love this location. I actually work in the same plaza and from casual conversations I had so many clients tell me great stories about Black Angus. I finally came to check out what everyone's been talking about and they're absolutely right. The staff is amazing. They are so nice and attentive. Just left black angus and had to write this review about Damien and the absolute BEST service!! After the gym my boyfriend and I decided to stop by black angus. We got the campfire feast and the meat was delicious! Along with the entrees we got the wagon wheel sampler, which was a must. The food was incredible, but what really made the experience was the service provided by Damien. He had great energy, very welcoming, and overall extremely hospitable. We order campfire for two about $70 before taxes, best part besides the food was Hector our waiter he was very personable and very easy to talk too. A few times we had to flag the staff down for our bread, drinks, butter, and extra napkins. I ordered the ribeye, medium rare. It was good, not great. Nicer steakhouses will noticeably have a better seasoned ribeye. My baked potatoes was an extra upgrade charge for "loaded" style....but I feel there potatoes skin sappetizer are more loaded. Food: complimentary bread had a good crust with molasses flavors. I felt that the butter was dull. Crab cakes had a lot of crab, but felt a bit greasy and over seasoned. Green beans were not trimmed down, and the fries had a strange aftertaste (could it be fried in tallow?). The fries were also greasy. The new york strip was overcooked (I asked for medium rare but was sent medium/medium well with a gray band). But to my surprise, it tasted better than the ribeye (which was also 6 dollars extra). There is plenty of parking around here even if not right in front. This is a family friendly restaurant with a bar seating area and the regular seating area. Our waitress was really nice and on top of everything. Once we sat down, service was great and food came out quick! We brought our own wine, corkage is $15 per bottle. The shrimp cocktail was good and the salads were fresh. I love their bread so we asked for some to go! The steaks were cooked perfectly and were delicious. The green beans were crunchy and tasty. The au gratin potatoes could've been a bit more baked, but were still great. For dessert, we had the mud pie that is like ice cream, it's sweet but not overly sweet. First time visiting this location, and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing. I normally give businesses the benefit of the doubt and rarely write reviews, but this experience was bad enough that it prompted me to write my first one. We had a reservation for four and arrived on time, but still waited about 30 minutes to be seated--which we were willing to accept. Once seated, our server mentioned they were using a new system and that service might be slower. We understood and were patient. After another 30 minutes, he finally brought bread, but by then we still had no water, our order hadn't been taken, and no drinks had been offered. Our kids were becoming restless, and so were we. Meanwhile, larger tables around us were being served and receiving drinks. By the time we left, we had been there for a total of 1 hour and 20 minutes without even placing an order. It became clear that if we stayed, we likely wouldn't eat for another hour and a half--if we were lucky. The server told us he'd be back shortly, but never returned. At that point, we decided to leave. We won't be spending our money at a place that treats families this way, and we'd rather support businesses that value and respect their customers. read more

Such a bummer that the service has declined such much. I remember coming here and feeling so out of place, the service and food was on a whole 'nother level. Now, I feel like it's more of a lower end diner. We were seated but I guess the server was never notified. We waited 15 minutes for someone to approach our table for our drink order. The waiter came shortly after and took our order. Thank goodness it wasn't busy bc if it was we would have never gotten our food. It took way too long to receive. The food tasted ok, better than it looked for sure. The waitress tending to the booth behind us just could not stop talking. She had an accent and it was evident she wasn't from Cali. Any how, she put in work to get a good tip. Telling the older gentlemen how she only had $300 to her name. They invited her to have a drink and she responds with I can't, I don't have money and it's gonna take more than one. They offer to pay and to my surprise, she declined. I had to hear this conversation the entire time. Should I or my daughter ever decide to wait tables, I'll make sure that we go thank her for the lesson on how to earn bigger tips. And the final strike of the night, it waited deducts 60 from our bill when it should have been 69 taken off. Went to Black Angus today to use our Rewards deal for Steak & Lobster. We sat at the bar and got served by Matthew, the bar tender, who was awesome! I started off with a whiskey on their well drink Happy Hour special and the wife had a whiskey and 7. Pretty great prices on that Happy Hour and they have some other drinks that I want to try. Boiler Maker will be my drink the the next time I come by. The bar was pretty well packed and many of the patrons seemed to be regulars. They were all very nice and moved so that my wife and I could have two chairs together. We got to meet a couple of the patrons and it was a pleasure to sit and have a drink while talking to some of these people. We had both had a big lunch so we split the Steak Medallions and the lobster tail. Matthew brought out some bread and butter [gotta love BA bread] and it was a great date night. This Restaurant always provides outstanding service and food. Today the female, heavy-set brunette bartender was my 1st bad experience. She was slow to wait upon customers at the bar or just blatantly ignored us. She spent long periods at the computer. During this time there were minimal customers. She did not provide utensils upon serving the meal, they had to be requested and then she was slow to fulfill the request. She ignored the additional cocktail orders too. She was rude and hesitant to serve one elderly man at the bar. She was pleasant and seemed to be very attentive to the younger customers.
