I would give it a 5 stars but the Mac and cheese ruined it for me. I loved the environment and the employees were so nice! Also everything is so cute from the menu to the booths etc. But the mac and cheese really killed it for me. I got a sandwich and that was really good. A franchise making its first venture into Texas, the Black Bear offers a wide variety of breakfast fare that is sure to have something for everyone. Had the country fried steak and eggs, (it is Texas right?). Very good. Portion size was plentiful, was served hot with everything exactly as ordered. Wait staff very attentive and well trained. Great atmosphere and pricing very reasonable for the portion size. Also serve lunch and dinner, and you can order anything on the menu at any time of day. Nice feature for us late breakfast people!! My family tried it after many recommendations and so we were excited to dine but it really wasn't very impressive and perhaps the 7 of us somehow all ordered the wrong things but I don't think I will be missing anything if I never go back. Came here with the family today for the first time. Awesome food and service. Brenda took care of us and was very attentive. Horrible Sysco food. I received the wrong food so by the time they got the order correct, My wife had finished. We complained to the manager and she ordered a new one but we never got it..... there was no music when we got there and then it got too loud. When we inquired about it we were told they have a regular that comes in and he actually control the volume from his phone. We told the manager that we never got the hash brown so she comped our meal. We still paid a tip at the end and there was no thank u, no come again... nothing. I'm so utterly disgusted with this place because of one waitress that made a big scene and confronted me in front of everyone she had the audacity to tell me her coworker is talking bad behind my back. Yuck. The biscuits looked very good, however, and was told they are made on premises. My dining companions had sandwiches that looked good but not particularly special.
