Me and my family went to this location for Memorial Day weekend. The wait was a bit long at about 45 mins, and while the food tasted great, it felt a little too expensive overall. Their chicken soup also tasted terrible. The salad (without dressing) is above average at best, the chicken that came with it is amazing. My son requested no avocado, no dressing, no tomatoes and no onions. They gave him onions and avocado but since he was able to remove it from his plate, it's not a big deal. Every now and then in today's world you get to experience something and someone awesome! We had the most incredible luncheon in Menifee,Calif., on Bradley Blvd. On Sunday we celebrated my Mothers 90th birthday with 24 friends and family. From the GM Juan to the servers Valerie and Alisa to the helper Ryan everyone was totally amazing! The food was great, and all came out together hot and just delicious. This is a great place for breakfast/brunch. Great omelets, great combos.. great French toast! Love their coffee and that they have the blue vanilla creamers. Like Black Bear. HATE this one. No excuse for treating a $107 order the way they did. Ordered the day before for Thanksgiving 2xs Prime Rib Medium Rare and a Turkey dinner for $107! Drive down and picked up the food. Got home and one Rib was straight up grey instead of pink and the other was pink on the ends with a brownish grey STRIPE down the center. I know a thing or two about meat and that's a rotton piece of meat. The center should be the pinkest part. No idea how this meat got a "racing stripe" down the center and the slices of meat were literally HALF as thick as they serve in store. They're always going to try and rip you off with take out at this particular Black Bear. But wait! There's more! The lettuce was wilted in the salad and the "sides" we're about the size of a small scoop of ice cream...all for the bargain price of 36 dollars per plate! So I call and complain. The manager Juan, tells my tough. If I don't like it I can drive back and get a new one. No apologies, just "So we ruined you Thanksgiving. What do you want me to do about it? You want a new plate? Drive down and get one but NO, I am not going to give you a refund or any other extra for your time, gas or frustration." I was floored so I asked for his supervisor (remember, this was already the manager Juan) so he gives me another name and phone number. I call it. Goes straight to VM and the VM is full. Call Juan back and Juan states again, come down and get a new plate, that's his final offer and then HANGS UP ON ME! Drive down and Juan acts like he has no idea who I am. Puts on a great show for the other dinners. Another guy comes out and gives me a refund LESS than what was paid, refuses to give me his name and then kicks me out while smiling in my face sarcastically. Pictures included. NEVER eating there again. Spoiled meat and could care less about it. Half portions to boot for take out. Summed up: rip-off artists. Basically stole money by selling tiny portions of rotten meat, got caught and showed zero remorse for ruining a family holiday. Money grubbing leaches destroying Menifee. Stay away. read more

We order our food, my son ordered Bob's big bear burger and it tasted like it was cook with the fish. And our friend ordered the Santa Maria tri-tip and asked for it to be medium well and mashed potatoes and mac and cheese, the meat was over cooked and the potatoes tasted like soap, the machine and cheese was dry and didn't taste good. I'm in the process of renovating my house and my kitchen is completely gutted. My grandsons were spending the night with me and wanted pancakes in the morning. I decided to take them to Black Bear Diner for breakfast. I've eaten at the Black Bear Diner in Fullerton area and it's delicious. Sadly, Tthe food at this particular location was not so great. When kids don't want to finish their pancakes there's a problem. I decided to go with eggs and potatoes. The food was cold when it arrived at our table m; and even though I requested eggs over medium, the whites were still wet. The potatoes were bland. Tried the BB in Murrieta, terrible food and service. Last week we decided to try the new one in Menifee/Sun City. The service was terrific, but the food was tasteless, bland and not cooked correctly. Gave this place another try and it was not a good experience...again. We went to celebrate a birthday and had a group of about 14. We got there at 430pm and were sat right away. Long story short, it took upwards of an hour to get our food. Then, only half the table received their food. The other half were told that there was another table that ordered the same exact meals (really? One table ordered the same exact 6 or 7 meals as us??) And our food was given to that table. We were told that the meals were expedited, but it still took a good 20 minutes before we ever got our meals. We will continue to drive to the Murrieta location as we never have these issues there. read more

We've been coming here since this place has opened. It's close to the house, and offers a wide variety of food. But what really makes this restaurant a go to for us is one specific waitress. Now we've never had a bad server here, but one in particular really makes our experience is Sara. I bring my elderly mother here for dinner once a week with my girlfriend. As soon as Sara sees us, she will inform us she's got Mom's chocolate shake getting ready. A few times it was just Mom and I, she asked about my girlfriend. The black bear diner was above and beyond my expectations. The service was excellent. Greeted by sweet hottest and sat down immediately even if they were busy . We got a nice booth . Server Any Is probably the best one here. She bubbly and attentive . She got our drink orders and food orders. Service was awesome. Ambiance needs more decor , but maybe they are still working on it. Food and fantastic. The atmosphere of this place is so warm and cozy. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Marcos was very helpful in helping my wife decide on what to eat. SERVICE!!! Ordered delivery through Yelp, delivered by Grubhub. who fulfilled the order??? Black Bear My order got delivered, none of the instruction/requests I made along with the order was fulfilled. simple utensils, ketchup, honey......oh and napkins shouldn't that be automatic??? called the restaurant, lady told me that they don't see the instructions/requests on the order and if the customers did not request any condiments, etc. they do not include any....NOT EVEN NAPKINS??? yet they have an extra charge in addition to the delivery charge! I was told it is CA law! ok, given that it is the law, they should at least call and follow up with the customer if they have additional requests or instructions. The manager told me I should have called after I placed the online order. hello!!!! what's the point of ONLINE ordering??? He as the manager should have said instead that they should have called me instead of me calling them. I think it's part of customer service! Somewhere, something is broken on their part, on their online ordering system. The manager didn't even offer any kind of real solution. I was excited to see a new restaurant open up in the Menifee area. I wanted to try Black Bear Diner because i wanted to support local businesses and enjoy good food. The evening hostess who seated me was wonderful. She gets 5 stars. So does the cooks and the establishment itself for cleanliness. However my whole experience was spoiled by my waitperson. She always seemed annoyed and distracted and didnt stop by to ask if everything was ok. She saw that my soda cup was empty and didnt ask if i wanted a refill until way later when my meal was nearly finished. The place wasnt busy either. When i was leaving the establishment i didnt even get a "thank you for coming" from the waitperson who made eye contact with me, even after leaving a generous tip on the table. The only thing i enjoyed was the hostess who had a heartwarming conversation when sitting me and as i was paying my bill. I read that Black Bear Diner has training with live customers before opening up to the public. Maybe the training needs to be fine tuned. Wont be back. I got better service at Wendys on Newport Rd. read more
