The best breakfast joint in the area. The decorations are unique with a cabin feel. The seating times are quick and the dice of the location is large. Seating is comfortable with many booths. All in all its good food but hit and miss. I have to order it to be delivered because I don't drive anymore so I have it delivered. And it's hit or miss. And they you know for the side if you want fresh fruit they charge you like almost $11 for a cup of fresh fruit? That's ridiculous. Because it was only $10.98 on the menu same thing as $11.... Anyways you only get half a cup or a quarter cup when you order it as a side but the bowl is half the size of when you order a full order of fresh fruit so maybe you get a half a cup instead of a quarter cup if they pack it right but no they don't they just give you a little bit of fruit in this plus the container and it doesn't even fill up a half a cup measurement cup. That said I give it with this economy and stuff and yeah the food's really good but sometimes if you're ordering it to be delivered it's hit and miss. I wish I could drive but I'm elderly and disabled and I elected not to drive anymore so I depend upon places like this to provide me with quality food. We had concern with my chicken pot pie having too much pepper. We mentioned it to Nory our server who replaced that meal with another of my choice from the menu. My patty melt was delicious. I have reviewed Black Bear before. Today's review is specifically about breakfast ordered for delivery. The Uber delivery was good and this is specifically about today's meal. My order was for French Toast, scrambled eggs, sausage patties and coffee. The sausage patties (2) were sizable, cooked to perfection and delicious. The French Toast, not special and small size. The coffee, disappointing and the size of the cup is way too small, especially for the price! The coffee was not tasty and it is bitter. To clarify, I have coffee at home but my experience in the past is why I ordered the coffee. Both at the restaurant and delivery, the taste of the coffee has been great. Regarding the size of the coffee cup, if I was at the restaurant, I assume there are still refills. Why skimp on "to go" . I just paid a ridiculous price for my last coffee purchase at the grocery, so I am aware of the cost! The coffee serving size is not right. Re the size of the French Toast, I get it. In the last 6 months, the bread I purchase has changed. My experience is that store bought bread slices has become much smaller while the price has increased. So I can't fault the restaurant about the bread size. Could you add another slice? I suppose this won't stop me from ordering delivery at least one more time. The price of delivery, with fees, tip, etc. Is outrageous. But when a girl wants breakfast sausage, it has to be. I had not heard from my husband about what happened at the cashier stand while I was talking to the "Manager" Food was decent. We added a salad and cornbread to a meal which the menu says is $4.99. When the check came it added 4.99 for the salad and 2.49 for the cornbread . After showing the cashier the error that should have been a fixable no brainer... But no Juan Hernandez says "no." I asked to speak with him...he would not come talk to us. They finally removed the overcharge but not without much debate that was unnecessary. I had not read the other reviews but I am starting to see a common theme here and it is the "Manager Juan Hernandez". Was strange that after telling us "no we were wrong" and not speaking to us I looked over to see him at the end of the counter reading the menu. i approached him and I asked him "did you see this" and pointed to where this add on was on the menu (directly over the meal that was ordered) and he still insisted it did not apply to the meal we ordered. The cashier came and said they removed the $2.49 and no apology no nothing. We come here frequently and I told the cashier we might need to rethink that decision and she said "ok". My husband (Mr passive) was like "wow did that really happen." We not only come for the food but we also purchase their overpriced merchandise (because I like the brand. which I shall now purchase online.)Rude and no apology. After we left he told me when I went to see the manager that our server was standing at the register with her back to us telling another server that we were wrong. Needless to say he was not impressed that she would stand there and say we were wrong when it was all on the menu and receipt. Our Server talking down to another server about us really upset him because he is always happy and social with the servers and he tips them well. Really wanted a waffle. They have a Strawberry cream variety. Waitress said it was good so why not give it a shot. It may have been me, but it tasted terrible, and I was hungry. We went here because our family tradition has been for the last 4 years is, to buy a a Christmas tree and then go to IHOP but fortunately for us, IHOP was overwhelmed with customers. Our waitress Daisy was pretty amazing very attentive. Food was ordered and came up pretty quick everything exactly right. I ordered the 2 egg combo with smoked hickory ham. When the food arrived it was cold. The ham wasn't flavorful. The fruit bowl was horrible. I only got 1 very thin slice of strawberry. The eggs were cold and dry. The wheat toast was burnt but the coffee was good. My husband had the tuna melt sandwich. I took a bite and it was good as well as the sweet potato fries. The only drawback about the fries is that they were greasy and limp. The only thing I liked was the service. My waitress was very friendly and accommodating. Some items were ok, If you have a problem with your order the Manager will interrogate you like German Gestapo. He is not concerned with your happiness, just his bottom line. "I GOT FOOD POISONING " The cinnabon french toast was so DISAPPOINTING! It tasted like store bought cinnabon you buy at the store premade and they just put egg batter on it and no seasoning to make it a French toast Cinnabon. The food is so bland, no flavor or seasoning. Also, I had an egg omelette which I asked for the cheese and they put cheese and I've been throwing up and had diarrhea ever since the weekend. I definitely would not be coming back again.
