Today I went in with my husband and kids, we wanted to get some breakfast and we've heard good things about this establishment from our friends and family. We decided to try the place out, and I'm telling you right now, we have ZERO regrets! We were seated by our kind and patient waitress Vanne, and we were provided nothing but excellent service and hospitality from her. I go here 2-3 times a week and order door dash as well. Today I went in and per the usual asked to sub the hashbrowns and the bread because I am diabetic and I can't eat those items. I have been accommodated every time until today. The waitress took forever to even take my order. She kept passing me and saying I'll be right there...once she took my order she refused to do the substitutions. She didn't care about my diabetes. I told her that everyone else has always accommodated my request to which she snapped "WELL THEY SHOULDNT HAVE" On my way out I told her that even door dash orders accommodated my request so she doesn't have her info right. She responded loudly and sarcastically " BYE BYE SIR. HAVE A GREAT DAY" to which I yelled "F@%k You". There was no reason for her to be so aggressive with me. There was no reason to be so rude while doing it. She should have asked the manager or had the manager come talk to me instead of being so nasty. I spend at least $100 a week between in person visits and doordash and I will never go there again. Employees like this are a complete liability and should not be allowed to badger customers like this. Diabetics are so limited on the foods they can eat as it is. I can't afford to pay $17 for and omelet and throw away the rest of the meal because I cant eat it. It's an unkind and cruel disease. I dont need people to be unkind and cruel to me on top of it. The food industry needs to wake up and realize they are part of the problem and need to try to be part of the solution. Help diabetics with their dietary needs. All I wanted was some damn cottage cheese for Christ sakes. read more

First time eating here last Monday few minutes before 11am. My husband and I was so excited to finally eating here after grand opening. We were sited right away but our no one had came until 10 minutes after we were seated. Waitress came to our and took our all of our orders. My husband and I had split The Grizz and a side of mix fruits. It took 40 for our food to get to our table. My husband and I looked at the food (the plate only had 2 sunny side up eggs, hash brown and slice of ham) after it was dropped off by another waitress and then she says, I'll be back with your pancake (which she never did). My husband and I never touch the food because we knew it was a wrong platte that was dropped off. Our waitress finally came to check on us, she looked at our food and says, "well where the rest of the food, this is not the right order. Let me get you another one." I said, "we have been waiting for so long, we can't wait any longer." Then the waitress says, " I'll be back" few minutes came by a waiter dropped off our food, and didn't say anything (Like, apologies) Our waitress came after few minutes and says, " I see that my manager dropped off your food, is everything ok?" We said, "Yes." I'm thinking to my self that was the manager that dropped off our food. Wow, he didn't even apologize. This is the type of employees representing your company? Several years ago, there was a BB Diner in Walnut Creek that was a big favorite especially for breakfast and lunch, I tried the one in Sun City today and I'll never go back, The service was good from the standpoint that it was pretty quick and very friendly, but we did have to ask for 3 minor items 2-3 times. We had 3 different breakfast items between us, and the food was not good. We sent one plate back. Food was very salty, scrambled eggs were browned and over cooked like leather, meat was burnt, biscuits were very dry and not very good. I asked for crispy hash browns and they were barely cooked on either side. Veggies in my omelette were raw. First cups of coffee were horrible -- tasted like dregs from several pots poured together. We asked for fresh coffee, and it was much better but just ok. Not memorable in any positive way except our server was very sweet. read more

I gave this new Black Bear two visits so that I gave it a fair chance to redeem itself after a mediocre first visit. The results were consistent. Very poor service with the wait staff being very slow to recognize you and take your order. The time to bring out your food is also a problem. Old coffee that has been sitting for far too long was another issue, but you couldn't ask for a fresh cup because the waiter had gone missing. The food itself was over priced for such a mediocre meal. I tried the sweet cream pancakes which proved to be too sweat even for a lover of sweets. The omlettes were okay, nothing special. They screwed up my daughter's order for a turkey club, not only failing to follow her requests as to what she wanted to be taken off the standard sandwich, but giving her ham instead of turkey- on a "turkey club." We also went to sample this restaurant after the initial excitement of a new restaurant coming to Menifee, but the staff still doesn't have its act together. By the time, my daughter's order was corrected everyone else had long finished their meals and she was ready to leave. The promise to take her never received sandwich off of the bill was also not done. Menifee needs you to do better Black Bear and I plan to go back in a few weeks to see if it has improved. read more

I want to start by saying that the quality of the products they use are fresh and of good quality, the prices are at the level of today's market, unfortunately the service is getting worse and everything comes from the manager who doesn't know how to handle the the place , I see him around but he doesn't help the staff to pass a cup of coffee or refill a drink, it never came close to a table. I am a customer who goes daily and I am tired of seeing people get up and leave because the waitresses are few and the kitchen service is very slow, also when the order comes out it is always incomplete, what is the use of having them bring me my toast after I finish my dinner? or only fill my coffee cup once when i had to wait an hour for my food?? Now I understand why people get up from the table and leave, it's a shame, but if they don't change the way they manage the place, they will continue to lose customers including me and my family. read more

Service was best it could be, server was pulled too many directions to really give full attention, but did a good job overall (they need to hire more servers). The portions are big, BUT, the fries were on the luke warmish side and not crispy, the Bob's Big Burger was filling but the meat has NO flavor and was not pink liked I asked. The endless cold brew was alright, the coffee had a burnt taste as if they let the pot sit too long with only very little coffee left. My wife got the Chicken Avocado Club was good, thought I thought the bread could've been toasted more (too soft for a club). My wife had the house salad with it in lieu of fries, she liked it, said it was nice and cold (they ran out of ranch though?!). My oldest had the Western BBQ burger and loved it. They made his burger pink, figures. He had the sweat potato fries, nice and hot. My youngest had the kids cheese pizza, typical at most dinners, the fruit cup was melons as always (lame), they did give him a complementary ice cream scoop for his birthday which was nice (good tasting chocolate). Wow I have never had this terrible of service in my entire life. I really hope the manager handles this because it was just unacceptable. Our server was not only giving other employees an attitude before taking our orders, but our food was brought out over 30 minutes after ordering and it looked like it sat under the heat lamps for almost as long. Then when I told her she brought me something I didn't order, she insisted that that was what I ordered. When it was not! She then gave me an attitude to the point where she was waving her hands over my table and I literally thought she was may physically assault me. I brought it to the attention of her manager and he tried to make it right but wow. I won't post her name here but I'll be escalating to whoever will listen. She needs to find a new job if she hates working here so much. It's a shame because we are super local and were excited for this new restaurant in our neighborhood. read more

The ambiance and the food is good but the service is bad. I had ordered a meat loaf and all my family got their order but they did not bring mine. After more than 30 min when I asked they said that the kitchen did not make the order since they ran out of it. It would have been good if they communicated it upfront to change my order. This is a bad experience and I hope the management gives better training to their team. They did try to diffuse the situation by taking my replacement order off the bill. read more
