    New York Steak & Eggs*
    Melik K.

I ordered the NY steak and, as someone trying to eat as healthy as possible while keeping protein high, I requested scrambled eggs instead of the usual two sides. Even though this option wasn't listed on the menu, they gladly accommodated my request. That kind of flexibility really elevates the experience--it makes you feel like your preferences matter and your meal is being made just for you. The only downside was the lack of staff presence at the register and around the dining area. It was difficult to find someone if you wanted to place an order or ask a question. This might have been due to being short-staffed or simply busy, but more attentiveness and eye contact from the staff--even if it's not their assigned table--would go a long way in improving the overall service.

Update 10/25/2025 Food is still good! Just an observation when we went in for breakfast this morning. We were sat in a booth next to the windows. The window sills and the top backs of the booths need a good dusting. Other than that, great atmosphere. Good service and good food!

My first visit to this Black Bear location. Clean and newer inside. No wait like the other locations. Probably since this is at a TA truck stop. I need to stop back and try breakfast. Service is on point, friendly. Not far from Buckeye. 12 miles

10 mins from Buckeye. The location is attached to the gas station. We walked in about 11am with no wait. We were seated immediately and our food arrived quickly, all but the order of waffles. The tuna sandwich, chicken noodle soup were delicious. My partner enjoyed his eggs and sausage. We were told 3 mins till the waffles would be out. We finished our meals with no waffles. Our server came back saying they were cleaning the machine so would start cooking once they were done. We asked her to take the waffles off our order as we would not be waiting for them. This was 15mins after our first plates arrived at our table. When we went up to pay, we waited for the 2 guests ahead of us. When we got to the counter, the girls were chatting about personal things and not greeting or asking if our experience was ok. Food was good, and I did like the location.

We love this black bear diner. It's in a truck stop but the restaurant is brand new. We go weekly for breakfast and to see our favorite waitress "lashes". We have never had a bad meal at this location.

Food was cold. Burger was under cooked and bleeding on the bun! Didn't get silverware for 5 minutes after food was on table.

One of the best breakfasts I've had in a decade…read more Over the years, Americans have converted breakfast to a corporate affair. Today, our breakfasts are experienced at places like "Over Easy," "First Watch," "Village Inn," and "Denny's." It's industrial breakfast. The old-fashioned, mom-and-pop diners are as rare as a hen's tooth. But not in Buckeye, Arizona. The Heritage is a welcome return to the great, neighborhood breakfast counters of old. It's privately owned and the owner, Kevin, greets you and stops by your table. "That's great," you say. But what about the food? And that's where The Heritage makes its name. Let's start with the homemade, pillowy sourdough English muffins. Most places use some industrial-food English muffin preserved with disgusting ingredients like L-Cysteine. These aren't those. These are like your grandma made. They're soft, yeasty circles of beauty with just enough sourdough taste to send your tastebuds into bread heaven. They're a far cry from your basic English muffin. On to the eggs. Most breakfast restaurants use liquid eggs from the restaurant supply. They come in big bags, bereft of nutritious value and flavor, but full of preservatives. Not these. The Heritage uses fresh eggs and they've perfected how to make them fluffy, buttery, and perfectly-cooked. No brown spots or runny middles. It's egg perfection. The sausage is really different. These are not your usual Sysco or Shamrock greasy pucks. They're thin and fresh and meaty and just slightly spicy (not hot just slightly herby). They're a subtle flavor surprise. And fork tender. The potatoes are little cubes of rich goodness. Cooked just right and golden brown. They're excellent. To finish off the breakfast, Heritage serves a luscious Carmel pecan roll with a vanilla glaze. I liked it but it was slightly dry if I want to be ridiculously nit-picky. But most people wouldn't even notice. All of it is served by some smiling young women who were working hard and answering lots of questions. The entire service experience was pleasant, friendly, and efficient. On a Saturday morning the place was PACKED so service was slightly slow. Though nothing like a crazy morning at Over-Easy or First Watch. What an amazing and pleasant surprise this little restaurant is. Their breakfast burrito looked excellent and everybody around us was raving about it. I'll try that next. The menu is small but efficient and contains some little gems. Give the cinnamon roll a try too! This is an absolute must for breakfast or brunch. And I hear the owner is thinking about offering dinner in the near future. A needed find in a historic building in old downtown Buckeye. A new favorite.

It's a smash burger with lettuce, tomato, onion, smash sauce, and pickle. You get the option of chips, fries, or a side salad. I ordered it no onions, double patty, with fries. If I had to rate it, I'd say 7/10. The fries were just cooked enough and almost had a hint of being undercooked. The burger itself was pretty tasty, but if the bun was a little softer, I would've given it a solid 9/10. Still, their breakfast is always delicious, and that's usually what keeps us coming back.

The restaurant is conveniently located in the Verrado area, behind Bashas' and surrounded by other businesses such as Bosa Donuts and Boba & More. There was plenty of parking available in the plaza. We also noticed what appeared to be a weekend farmers market nearby, which added to the atmosphere and made the area feel lively and welcoming. Upon entering, the hostess and staff greeted us warmly and seated us right away. Throughout our visit, the entire team was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent customer service. Our food arrived promptly, and we ordered the Chicken and Waffles, Buttermilk Pancakes with Eggs and Brisket, a Sampler Platter with eggs, sausage, toast and biscuit, as well as the Mimosa Flight. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but there were a few areas that could be improved: * The brisket had great flavor; however, a significant portion of it was very fatty, especially in the middle, which made it difficult to enjoy all of it. * The Chicken and Waffles were good overall, and the waffle itself was delicious. However, the chicken tenders lacked seasoning and were fairly bland. With a little more flavor, this dish would be outstanding. * The Mimosa Flight was visually appealing and provided generous portions. Unfortunately, we could primarily taste the champagne and not much of the individual fruit flavors. We were hoping for a stronger flavor profile from each variety. One nice bonus was their rewards program. If you're not already a member, you can sign up during your visit, earn points on purchases, and receive $10 off your order, which is a great incentive. Despite a few issues with the brisket, mimosas, and chicken seasoning, we had a great brunch experience. The excellent service, welcoming atmosphere, and overall quality of the meal made it a place we would happily visit again. We look forward to returning and hope to see improvements with the brisket quality, more flavorful mimosas, and better seasoning on the chicken tenders.

We've decided to call it "The Derek Special" because it was that good! The shrimp were the juiciest I've ever had, and the flavors blended perfectly. I had the chicken capellini, which was also really good, light, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Service was out of this world. Derek took such great care of us, and even the atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and welcoming. A kind gentleman at the table beside us even paid for our meal. Thank you, mystery man!
