Customer service is on point. I hate the parking but it's downtown so what do you expect. But... the chicken salad sandwich makes up for the parking. It's $8 and comes with a bag of BBQ Grippos (chips). Have to buy the drink separately which is to be expected I mean it is a coffee shop. But I didn't order coffee I purchased the vegan juice. It's called Macho Green. It was sooo good! A good cold pressed juice is hard to find, but I found it. It's also a local brand so I killed two birds with one stone buying local juice from a local store. There is a ode to hip hop in the artistry placed around the coffee shop (cough made by local Cincinnati artist as well). I must say this... for my black Yelpers... A BLACK OWNED COFFEE SHOP IN CINCINNATI IS HERE!!! It is finally here!! This coffee shop is for us... BY ONE OF US!! It's ok white Yelpers you can go to, everyone is welcome at Black Coffee, but if you can't be happy around our blackness then go to Starbucks. BECAUSE THIS IS A LOVING SPACE FOR ALL SHADES OF PEOPLE. They have small intimate events coming up that I can't wait to check out. The music isn't elevator music it is however hip hop, jazz, smooth tunes, neo soul, modern soul, r&b, and ya mamas Saturday morning clean up music. The cakes, pies, and cookies offered for sale is also (cough local black owned bakeries and chefs cough) good. I had sweet potato pound cake that made me wanna slap my mama! I can't wait to go back for the vegan chocolate chip cookies. I'm super proud that this coffee shop is owned and operated by some young business man who is on his way to becoming a mogul. GO HERE!!! Because it's a local man, building and collaborating with local people for a space for Cincinnati to begin to thrive as a modern growing metropolis. It's not that stuffy uppity coffee shop that you can't chew to loud. I've been excited to see Black Coffee Lounge open for a bit, so it was great to drop in and see this spot HOPPIN'. One of the first things I noticed was how happy the staff seemed. Even on a super busy morning, both of the women behind the counter looked up with a bright smile, welcomed me, and asked how they could help me. I ordered an iced coffee and managed to snag a table for a morning meeting. They handed me a cup with ice and informed me that the iced coffee was located on the table in the middle of the lounge. It was a bit of a tight squeeze to get the coffee without intruding on other people's space, but it was also quite the busy morning. The iced coffee was great and gave me the morning boost that I needed! There were also some treats available as well from Sweet Petit desserts that I didn't indulge in this time (but I certainly will in the future). All in all, I really loved the good vibes here. From patrons to staff, everyone just seemed to be in a good mood and there were smiles all around. Perfect place for hanging out to do light work. Winter minty coffee (ordered mine with oat milk) is delicious, not too sweet. I love that they warm up your sweets for you in a real oven, so your chocolate chip cookie comes outs all gooey with crisp edges. Every one here is warm and welcoming. One of the friendliest places I've ever been. The staff are always welcoming and helpful. The first time I went they asked if I'd been in before and then proceeded to tell me about the menu. I have tried the vanilla caramel latte (I forget the name) and a regular latte and cappuccino. All were delicious. They also do seasonal flavors. I've had a muffin there and it was excellent. They are big and very flavorful and moist. They had several pastry options and bagels. read more

What better way to brighten up a dreary January afternoon than with a piping hot cup of coffee? I was so glad I decided to stop by after I had an early-release day at work. It was my first time in, and the employees here were more than helpful. They had plenty of recommendations for me. I ended up going with a lavender latte, though their other specialty lattes sounded delicious as well. They also had a few sweets on display that caught my eye. I asked about what they offered, and I was encouraged to give their oatmeal cookie sandwich a try. It was very tasty! It tasted like a new-and-improved version of an old childhood favorite. They had a red velvet cookie sandwich that looked pretty good as well - next time! Their vegan chai muffin did not disappoint, either. I was enticed to stop in for a Yelp Elite event, so I took the opportunity to stop by. I must say that in my normal day to day job, I have never "seen" this place (I am usually looking for specific buildings/address while trying to NOT run people over). Anyway, I am glad I did. The two young women that took care of my order were friendly, polite and very quick...oh yeah...the coffee was FANTASTIC!!! On the west side of downtown about a block east of city hall and you will find cafinated (or decafinated) bliss. Due to COVID-19 precautions: masks inside are mandatory; and there are also social distancing "x's" marked so that people know where to stand! Only two people allowed in the shop at once. The artwork is awesome and very well done. The menu is extensive including both food (coffee and non) as well as drinks. We got two iced "woah's" and two iced red eyes with an extra shot and cream. Coffee and espresso is on point- strong, smooth & rich. No bitter aftertaste so it's very clear they know how to roast their beans well! So excited this shop is in our city and is definitely a fave! THE BEST LATTE IN MY LIFE! I travel for work so I drink around, as it were. I accidentally stumbled across this lovely joint when I was taking a walk. From the ample, comfortable seating, to the art and mellow tunes, this place delivers on every front. That said, even if you aren't going to sit and chill, stop in for the beverages-- and the pastry. The staff at this spot are the staff you want in every spot. Relaxed, informative and friendly. I've been a few times now to try the espresso but I love the Matunda juices they have and typically go that route. They also offer pastries and other bites as well as play really good music. I mostly liked everything about it. It was quaint with windows on two sides to people watch if you wanted. The only thing I didn't like was the artwork on the walls. :( I wish they would have hired me to paint the same images! The visuals they curate do not match the quality of products they serve. this was our first stop in Cincinnati and we couldn't have picked a better place! my fiancé got a dirty chai and I ordered a "swirl latte" and both were absolutely delicious. the muffins and pastries looked very good but sadly, didn't grab any for the road. the inside of the cafe was dark and relaxing, but still had such a great energy to it. the employees were super friendly to us & everyone that walked through those doors. also, the music was fantastic... I haven't heard that Erykah Badu track in years! BlaCk Coffee Lounge was some of the best coffee we had during our visit - and we're kinda picky. we love to support local businesses and we love to see them thrive, regardless of city or proximity to where we live. I absolutely love this place, they have the best coffee, but the wait for 30 minutes is ridiculous. I come very often on different days to see if there is a difference but there isn't. Paying to park to wait 30+ minutes for a coffee just isn't working anymore. It's like there is no sense of people having places to be. I mean it's obviously a coffee place in the middle of downtown, with business people who have no time to wait 30 + minutes. I try to support black businesses but I'm not paying $12 just for an aesthetic at this point. It's says black coffee but it doesn't feel safe anymore. read more

BlaCk Coffee Lounge is the best coffee shop in Cincinnati. I was blown away from the aesthetics of the shop. You're greeted with a sign that say " It was all a bean" a clever nod to Biggie Smalls. The music is at a perfect volume, never bumping too loud and with excellent playlists. The staff is helpful, courteous, and always look polished. The drinks are perfectly crafted and it's easy to substitute ingredients. The only thing that I wasn't super impressed was the bakery items, I think they're getting there. Nothing was bad, but I wasn't absolutely impressed by the bakery items. I would respect the baked goods if they had cheeky names like "James Brown-ie" or "Tyler Perry's Madea Eats a Bagel." I strongly believe that this coffee shop has the potential to be a major chain. Hurry to get there before it becomes mainstream! read more

It's amazing! Unfortunately they closed their indoor seating due to COVID but everything is to go. I got their signature swirl latte and oh my gosh it's amazing!! I could never get tried of it - so yummy with caramel and chocolate. I would def say you need to try it at least once! I also got a red velvet cookie on the side which paired really well with the latte. Can't wait to come back and it'll be even better when indoor seating etc will open up again.
