I ordered the yogurt and I don't know if it sat out too long or if this really is their yogurt consistency. I literally can drink from a straw. The side was good, but was very disappointed in the overall texture of the yogurt that was way too watery. I can't speak for the coffee or the other items overall the presentation was very nice. It is a packed place so it's not easy to find seating so just grab whatever you can. I love that they have a coat hanger by the entrance door. read more

This place has been on my list for a while as a third-wave speciality coffee shop. I decided to stop by here in the middle of the work day for a little afternoon pick-me-up. The location is great, a nice short walk for anyone working in the area. The inside has some seating, but it's a bit sparse. Not a place for staying long or working. I was initially skeptical of the $4.50 American price, especially for the small size. However, the drink was top knotch. No bad notes, well balanced, and the perfect temperature (not too hot or burnt)! They also had a few different varieties of pour over and espresso roasts for you to pick. read more

I enjoyed my experience here! I ordered a Latte with Splenda for my sweetener. The coffee is a little on the expensive side. My friend got a match with vanilla and almond milk which came out to $10. Visited Black Fox and found it to be a solid coffee shop and eatery. Shop was trendy and casual with soft lighting and upbeat music. Shop was well staffed and staff were friendly and attentive. Prices seemed slightly steep to me. My partner I had an iced vanilla latte ($8), an espresso tonic ($9), and we shared the egg, bacon, and cheese sandwich ($16). Loved my iced vanilla latte! The sandwich was decent- the pickles were outstanding to compliment the flavors all together- never had pickles on a breakfast sandwich before! Eh. The coffee is on the expensive side, and while the space is clearly designed as a "meet your friends or get some work done" type of environment, there's no Wi-Fi. It's definitely busy, with a steady stream of customers, so people must enjoy the coffee. That said, if a place is set up to encourage lingering and working, I think it should be better equipped to support that kind of environment. read more

Nice, spacious cafe! I liked the decor and vibe of the space, but the high tables didn't feel too stable for working, everything kept rocking back and forth. It took quite a while for the food to come out, but understandable given how small the food preparation area is. I think they're mainly focused on beverages. My friend had a drink with beautiful latte art on it-- a very unique seahorse!! The breakfast burrito was quite good though! The cheese and egg mixture was super creamy and flavorful, and there was a bit of spice and sweetness in the burrito. My only complaint is how large the potatoes were. Since they weren't cut into smaller pieces, the potato was hard and undercooked. It was very filling. Very disappointing! The food looked very promising online but it is everything but that. The chorizo burrito only had one piece at the top to make it seem like there was even any inside. I rarely get sticker shock from coffeeshops, being from a city that also has high cost of living, but unfortunately Black Fox Coffee is incredibly overpriced. My small butterscotch latte with alternative milk was around $9.50 after tax/fees but BEFORE tip. I am used to paying $6-7 for a coffee which I understand is also on the high end but I value the quality of a handcrafted specialty latte. That said, for almost 10 bucks I was expecting the coffee to be the best I'd ever had. And was it good? Yes, I found it to be very tasty! However I've tried equally good or even better in the same area (Voyager, Suited) so I don't see myself paying that much for a small latte ever again. Good but certainly not $10 good. *Unsanitary - Rude - Dangerous* I implore you to skip this place, even if you're staying in the building. Unbelievably rude, dismissive staff and slow service. The "cook" in full sight dropped my food on the floor and then yelled "f**k" and full force slammed his metal spatula against the counter, the whole restaurant and every server in the place was stunned by the sudden extremely loud sound, almost as if a gun went off. I forgave that my food was already in the 25 minute mark waiting for my simple to-go order, but after that outburst and seeing the spatula shatter across the open air kitchen, left me shocked. I spoke with the poor excuse of a manager and said, "was that my food" his response "yes, yes it was" and walks off!! You're kidding right! No apology, nada. Fast forward another 10 minutes and my food finally gets bagged up, items strewn across the togo box. Pro tip, as a cook, don't wear the gloves you handle food with, pick up dropped food from the floor, walk out of the building with them STILL on, pick up some items, then come back and use the SAME gloves to continue where you left off, grabbing salads and wrapping burritos.
