    12 kcups/$10. Because I have an issue.
    Janet M.

I am so sad right now. This is my second negative Black Rock encounter in a few days. It is 100 degrees. We are hot and thirsty. We ordered two iced green teas. One with a lot of honey. $7 says the barista. I am surprised so I look at the posted menu, it says iced tea is $3. 2x3 =........7? Does honey cost extra? ( we have occasionally been charged for it, occasionally not. Usually a 25 or 50 cent charge when they do, not $1.) The girl in the back says yes, the girl ringing us up says no. She shows me her tablet ( which it's too sunny to read btw) and I say well the sign says it's $3. ( She reads from her tablet "shaken iced tea $3.50". I am really not sure if any of them brew it and shake it anymore. It has been in a pitcher in the cooler lately.) No it doesn't she says. Um yes it does, I say. So she cranes her body out the window to look and yup, $3. I have to charge what it says on the tablet, she tells me. But I will tell my manager. She was not exactly RUDE but she was not exactly nice. I said it was ok and I was sharing information and I told her various stores charge various amounts for tea and/or honey. Which she refuted. No, they do not. It is all the same. Uh huh. I still paid the $7. And I tipped $1. My kid says maybe they're skimming off the top?? I do not know. Our iced tea tastes good and was fast. So two stars for that. But I think maybe with all the expanding they are doing , Black Rock is losing it's heart and it's quality a little. Sad. P.S. My kid says to tell you I was not being cheap, my math and reality skills were being tested and it made me anxious. I would honestly usually let a dollar go and not say anything. Not a word. P.P.S. Also, we have decided to make tea at home. Iced tea should not cost $3.50.

    Peach smoothie

Drove by for a quick pick-me-up and they did a fantastic job. It was late, so I didn't want coffee. Ordered the peach smoothie which was made instantly and tasted amazing! They made this drink with liquids and ice (no fruit), so it's probably not the healthiest item on their menu. However, it does the job and it does it well.

One Sunday morning, I was in desperate need of caffeine and didn't feel like visiting one of the three Starbucks near my place. Black Rock Coffee was close and I decided to give it a try. Black Rock is a small little shack-like building. They offer drive-up and walk-up windows. There is plenty of drink options (both cold and hot) and I think they even make smoothies or some type of fruity drink. The staff makes excellent espresso (none of the burnt espresso that Starbucks sometimes serves up) and they take their time to get your order right (despite the pressure of the long lines). They also have soy and almond milk options and can make drinks dairy free if you ask nicely. Plenty of parking nearby (car lines can get long, so you may want to park and use the walk up window instead) They accept paper and plastic (cash&cards).

    Caramel truffle- iced!

Happened to be driving through this area and spotted the coffee. The line was about 5 cars deep so I was able to pull up their yelp listing and read the menu while we waited-super convenient! I ordered an iced caramel truffle drink and it was so smooth and tasty! Not too sweet either. The two people working the shop were listening to red hot chili peppers and hooked me up with a stamp card. My kind of coffee joint!

    early morning at black rock!

Ask the Community - Black Rock Coffee Bar

Do you sell Cookies or Ice Cream? We have also noticed that Intersection right here on 185th at Baseline is Terrible. Railroad Crossings need to be Grade Separated so that way the Traffic Signals will stay Coordinated.

No they do not sell ice cream or cookies. And they are not responsible for the infrastructure/traffic issues. Take that up with the city.

There was ample seating to suit every mood (table and chairs, comfy chairs, and comfy sofas with plenty of outlets and side tables). There's a fun and fresh local artist goods shop tucked in the front corner. It's a perfect place to find a gift for yourself or others. The menu is a nerdy dream come true. When we visited a couple of weeks ago in May, the themed drinks were Lord of the Rings and Mario. I had the Gondor, which, if I recall, may have had hazelnut and cinnamon. I DO recall that it was delish. I forgot what drink my daughter ordered, but she enjoyed it as well. I look forward to coming back and trying their London Fog, which is one of my favorite drinks and seems to have significant praise from other reviewers. We didn't get an opportunity to try the food, but look forward to in the future. One refreshing surprise is that this is a no-tip establishment. I don't recall what I paid for the drinks, but I appreciate places that charge what they need to make their business work and to (hopefully) pay their employees a living wage. Brickhaus is rooted in community and belonging, and I am here for it!

I stopped by Deadstock Coffee while visiting the area and immediately loved the concept. As someone who loves coffee but loves sneakers even more, this place felt right up my alley. The shop itself is decorated with basketball and sneaker culture, along with iconic sports moments that make the space feel unique without trying too hard. One thing that caught me off guard was that there wasn't a traditional menu posted. As a first-time visitor, I wasn't sure what coffee options, blends, or milk choices were available. Thankfully, it wasn't too busy, and the employee working was incredibly patient, friendly, and happy to walk me through everything. Customer service like that goes a long way. My drink was excellent, and the sneaker design printed on top of the coffee was such a cool touch. It's one of those little details that makes the experience memorable and fits perfectly with the brand. Whether you're a sneakerhead, a coffee lover, or both, Deadstock Coffee is worth checking out. I'll definitely be stopping by again the next time I'm in the area.

The breakfast burrito was also delicious. I added sausage, Guac, and mushrooms. It would've been a 10/10 if left off the mushrooms. The burger tasted precooked, not a lot of flavor, just ok. The fries were fresh and hot, and seasoned perfectly. Another good experience at this incredible sneaker-themed coffee shop not too far from Nike. Definitely go for the coffee, you'll love it.

SERVICE What captivated me at first, beyond the super clean premises with everything neatly organized and accessible, was the friendliest service that included a smile from ear to ear and banter, something I haven't experienced in many months, maybe in a couple of years! To top it off, we didn't wait but 2 minutes after paying, and our entire order was ready! FOOD The espresso double shot was exceptionally delicious. Creamy, foamy, the right balance between sweetness and bitterness. We tried the Blueberry Hand-pie ($5) and it's, as you'd expect, sugary and crunchy, however is no match to the Date Sugar Scone ($4.75) which was highly recommend it, the best in our opinion! The Zucchini muffin ($4.75) is deceiving as it looks like chocolate but it tastes like you're eating healthy. It has little pieces of green something, to demonstrate that it's actually vegan, and probably made by vegans. And the label says that it's vegan. And did I mention that it's vegan?! The Mocha needed sugar to add up to the sugary chocolatey flavor of major coffee shops. Not really my favorite, but then again, I'm here to try real coffee as recommended by my friend Dennis! ENVIRONMENT Super clean and organized. They have an amazing music selection playing and one can bring their coffee home to make, as they have a good selection of whole bean coffee bags from around the world to choose from.

But one bite in and it was clear it hadn't been warmed. When I mentioned it wasn't fresh, the staff defended it saying it was made the night before. Exactly my point -- if it was made the night before, warm it up. Even Starbucks does that. It was dense, cold, and not enjoyable at all. The coffee I ordered extra hot, and it wasn't. Within a few sips it was already lukewarm. That's a basic request that should be easy to get right. The atmosphere is okay visually, but it's packed with laptop workers and there's barely any space to sit and relax. The Mocha ($6.50 for 16oz) is way too sugary for my taste, but still tastes good, consider getting water to wash it down. The pastries are brought in daily and made by Jenn. And we tried only the Croissant ($6) and the Spinach & Ricotta Lattice Pastry ($7) but these were much better than the freshly made Avocado Toast ($9.50), even though the avocado was ripe and the toast was good, however it was missing salt or whatever seasoning to make it as good as the other pastries. SERVICE Super fast and super friendly . One thing is having a decoration that calls for inclusion, but having a team that represents it, that's gold.
