I'm not a fan of sweet coffees so I usually ask for half of the sweetness or more espresso to even it out. I frequent this location at least two times a week as it is on my way to work. I typically have a very pleasant experience, until this morning. Yesterday, I went through the drive thru and ordered a peppermint blonde iced latte(which was amazing) and wanted to splurge on a breakfast sandwich. I would like to add that the woman working the window was not very kind, didn't ask for my loyalty number, and when I kindly asked if she could add my number so I can accrue the points, she responded with a harsh tone. Anywho, when I made it to work I noticed that I had a bagel instead of the sandwich. I tried calling the store to remedy the situation but apparently when you call the store, an automated system answers. The automated system prompted me to go online and fill out a request to be contacted, which I immediately completed. I did not receive a call or email, which is fine because I knew I would go to Black Rock in the morning for the teacher and staff day. I went inside to notify them that my order was incorrect from the day before, and the shift manager on duty was very rude and told me that I should've come in the day before, which I did take action the day of the incident. I motioned toward the girl who was working the window the day before and mentioned she was the one that helped me out, not to call her out, just so that she could attest I came through the drive thru. The manager walked over to her and they exchanged a few words looked my way and laughed. The girl that worked the window the previous day rolled her eyes in my direction. All to say, I will not be visiting this location again. If you would like to experience high school mean girls, then visit this Black Rock location. read more

Had the displeasure of sitting at the ordering area for 10 minutes with nobody taking my order as the cars in front of me were helped and cars piled up behind me. Finally drove up to the window and minutes later some girl walks up and acts like I'm bothering her when she asks what I need. No sorry, no acknowledgment that nobody took my order where I'm supposed to give my order. No explanation. Like wtf?? Terrible service. Embarrassing. First time here and will definitely be my last. 2 years ago I moved from Portland, Oregon to Phoenix and I was saddened that Black Rock Coffee shops were few and far. While on another side of town today we decided to make a stop and grab a yummy drink. I have to say I was disappointed in the quality and the service. Our barista seemed bothered by us and was not very friendly. I ordered a caramel macchiato, my boyfriend a smoothie. He stated his smoothie was just "Okay, nothing special." I was saddened to hear this after I had ranted and raved about them having the best smoothies. After taking a sip of my macchiato I was even more disappointed. The coffee tasted as if the shots were burnt and overly sweetened. I am struggling to enjoy this one. I have taken a few sips trying not to waste it but in the trash this one will go:( I am not sure if it's just this location lacking quality, or of BR has gone down hill. Very sweet barista but that was the only plus. I ordered an iced chai that coat me $6 and waited over 20 minutes doe it. When I got it it was basically just milk with a small splash of chai. I went with a friend that likes this place. She likes the sweet drinks and I prefer my coffee hot and black. But it was hot outside awhile back and it was noon so I asked for drip coffee on ice ($2.39, plus ice I suppose). They said they don't do that. She got an Irish coffee for $5.35, but my 'simple' order got complicated. I didn't want dairy but they upsold me to a Latte Chiller with Soy and Coconut. My order went to $6.50 but I didn't see that until I paid. Worse, that must have had dairy from the customary impact that has on us that can't do dairy. The thing that struck me most, though, was how genuinely delightful and pleasant the people working there were. I come to this Black Rock at least 3 times per week on my way to work. My Bacon Ciabatta breakfast sandwich is always hot and fresh and AMAZING! If I could eat it daily-I would. Unfortunately sometimes I get a late start and they're already out. That doesn't stop me from still ordering a fuel. I've stuck to the same drink for over 6 months. As someone who does not enjoy coffee-I sure love my energy drinks. One of the employees recommended a new drink and I tried it and fell in love. If you like sweet, cold energy drinks, try an Iced Fuel with strawberry, peach, coconut and white chocolate. The drink is a creamy light pink color and taste absolutely amazing (in my opinion). Big fan. Lived in the PNW for a while... this company originally came from Portland, and the coffee reminds me of the delicious smooth coffee from that part of the country. Expensive place for coffee, but it's a real treat. Love the people that work here too, always pleasant experience. :) Their seasonal drinks are ALWAYS worth a try. I come here often enough to get a couple free drinks a year with their rewards program. It's a good thing I don't have one down the street from me haha. This cute little coffee shop opened right across from my house today so my mom and I decided to check it out and were delighted by everything we saw!
