The staff has got to be the friendliest coffee shop I've ever gone to, and I'm a coffee addict! Their energy and friendliness here goes such a long way. No matter the time I visit or how busy they are, you can tell they love their people and have passion working there. Their signature drinks are also very good if you're into that. If not, I've also tried their regular black Americano and it was reallyy good! Not your average Starbucks or whatever Americano. It's very flavorful! I'll be honest, I have tried their refreshers and I'm not a huge fan but I also don't really like energy drink flavors so that might be why. I live around the corner from this location. I don't drink a lot of "fancy" coffee, but I'm usually disappointed when I go to the Sbucks location at 35th Ave & Bell (it's always slow and disorganized, no matter when I've gone) or any of them, for that matter. I find them to be very overrated & overpriced. And, I still don't understand why when you order 2 drinks at the same time, they don't always come out at the same time. Kind of awkward & odd, if you're meeting for a coffee date. I'm not sure if every Black Rock operates like this location, but I'll tell you what - that "other" coffee company could learn a thing or 2 from this place. The coffee, prices and turnaround are all better. The drive thru line is quick & easy, even with a line full of cars. Employees are upbeat and friendly. I love Black Rock Coffee! My favorite is the White Out. Their coffee is so smooth and not bitter like some other places. I hope they will build more as I am a little far north and come to the Greenway Rd location but it's worth it. It's my favorite Saturday morning treat and the staff is incredibly friendly. read more

Riley and Madison really need to work on their customer service. I repeated my order 3 times to Riley and somehow she still got it wrong. I had to drive back and tell them I wanted a decaf mocha, not a latte. They again made it incorrectly. It didn't taste right and it obviously wasn't decaf. I again drove back and this time requested a refund as it was apparent they were incapable of making a decaf mocha correctly. Madison was indifferent and not once did anyone at any time apologize for screwing my order up and wasting my time. I won't be coming back to this, or any other Black Rock coffee again. read more

I have been a fan since I've tried this place when it first opened. A few days ago, I visited the drive thru and was helped by Abbi. After she made a suggestion for a cherry lemonade, I noticed my wallet was missing and not in my purse. I am currently going through a personal hardship and have been scattered brained lately. I immediately told her I didn't have my wallet and to cancel my order. Abbi offered to see if I had points for a free drink and found I did not. I told her I appreciated it and to cancel. She refused and told me to not worry about it. She gave me the drink and I was so moved by this kindness. Because of the things I've been going through and my grieving, Abbi's kindness meant a lot. Black rock is hands down the best coffee in AZ. There's no question. I have been going to this location and the location off bell since they opened on the west side. You won't find a more friendly group of people working at any other coffee shop. Every morning I go they make my coffee perfect. Never had a bad experience. Hailey and team are the best! I love the drinks and have no intention to stop coming but on 3 different occasions I've asked for bagels and their response was that the ovens were turned off. Once, I asked if they could turn them on and the girl sounded frustrated and told me it would take 10 minutes to turn back on. Then when I pulled up, they gave me the cold shoulder big time. Another time, I asked for a sucker for my daughter because they've given us suckers several times before and the girl had no idea what I was talking about and rolled her eyes and didn't speak to me any more. Not sure if bagels are limited to a certain time but if not, it would be amazing if they could just make one in the oven for me. I will gladly pay but otherwise the workers I've encountered have not been too kind - UPDATE - right after writing this review I felt bad so went to get a drink at 540pm. I asked for a bagel and sure enough, a dude told me the ovens were off. When I pulled up to the window I asked the girl when they shut off the ovens and she said 6pm and said they were still on. So the dude straight up lied. I ordered a bagel and it was delicious and that's all I want dude but think this location needs some extra training on customer service. I have never had a problem with this location until today. Usually they are fast and friendly and I tip when given a chance. Today I nought a medium caramel blonde with 2 extra shots and a ten dollar gift card for a friend. The total was$ 17.18. The girl never gave me the screen to sign and have the option for a tip. I thought it strange as this is the usual process, but I was on my way to work and thought she just forgot. Later when I was looking at my banking app I noticed my card was charged $ 20.18. CHECK YOUR STATEMENTS Someone at this location is helping themselves to tips. Sad part is I would have tipped if given the chance. I can't trust them and wont go back to this location, which is on my way to work. What a shame. read more

The coffee and service is great at Black Rock. Everyone who works there is very friendly and attentive. The reason for 3 stars is I frequently go there to grab a coffee and do homework. However the music sometimes is blaring and I can't focus and other times it's a good volume. I never know which I am going to get. Love Black Rock but it's hard to have a conversation inside when I feel as if I'm almost yelling, but other times it's normal. read more

My first time having it delivered to my home , and let's start off with not the correct order . It tastes like watered down coffee with almond milk . Did not match the description. My smoothie did not even have whip cream more like a little dab . For three drinks it was over $25. Can't even get my money back . Very disappointed. read more
