Tuxedos on display + waiting room with spaced out chairs
Alyssa G.

My boyfriend and I came here for his tuxedo fitting since his friend's wedding will be in a few months from now. We arrived at the shop around 1:30pm and had to wait outside the door until an employee came to open the door. As the door was opened for us, we had our temperatures checked and my boyfriend had to show his ID for his appointment. I liked how all the chairs are pretty spaced out from each other but sadly I could not sit directly next to my boyfriend haha. There were a total of two employees at the time and both of them were quite friendly + helped my boyfriend greatly with the fitting. Quick tip: this shop is currently by appointment only!

Used this company for Tuxedos for my wedding party. Best advice have your pick up and drop off of all tuxedos done by one person makes things a lot easier on everyone. Staff was helpful and nice.

We went with the Navy blue with a black collar under shirt and black tie. We love it. Don't forget to bring a mask.

Well organized, polite, on time, very patient and helpful. Loved that we didn't feel rushed and we had one on one service with this sweet lady in the pic. Well worth our time, drive, and money. We drove from Ewa. Thank you again for helping us. We will definitely be back again. Have a beautiful weekend!

all my groomsmen were flying in from the main land so I called in black tie affair they set me up easily worked with me and helped pick the perfect tux for my groomsmen. The prices were great and the owner of the shop was super nice and down to earth he loves to talk so if you're in a hurry let him know! The shop is by appointment only I believe so make sure to call and set one and finding it can be difficult it's inside the parking lot area right next to curves and the owner will buzz you in. If you need a tux or suit rental this is the place to go!

Wedding suits for groom & groomsmen

10/10 recommend coming here v. Men's Warehouse. This locally owned + run business was much more professional than them. Mike, the owner, was great with responses and provided suits that fit our wedding vision perfectly :) My husband and his groomsmen looked so good on our wedding day and even had a mini-shoot before the event. We had an out-of-state guest who was able to get fitted 2 days before the event and his suit was ready to go with no problem. COME HERE YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

Came here to get fitted for a suit for my friend's wedding. The staff that work here are really nice and personable. Pros: -friendly staff -they were very fast and efficient. They could do my measurement and provided it back the next day! Really impressive. Cons: -depending on what time you come, the Parkin lot area can be pretty miserable. I came here twice during the work week. The first time I arrived around 11am and it was impossible to find parking anywhere in the lot. However, the second time I came, I arrived around 3:30pm and the lot had tons of open parking spaces, so plan ahead! -there is a fee to pay in the parking lot. You can pay at the parking kiosk or give cash when you exit.

We absolutely LOVED our experience here! We scheduled an appointment here after not being completely satisfied with our experience at Men's Wearhouse. Short version - customer service is outstanding and my tux rental came out less than what I got quoted at MW and the fit was also better and looked a lot better! We decided to come here after seeing the amazing Yelp reviews to possibly switch our tux rental to this place after not being so thrilled about our experience at Men's Wearhouse (it wasn't BAD, just not great). I sent an email to Black Tie Affair to inquire about setting up an appointment and received a call back from the owner that same day and got an appointment. The owner gave me parking instructions prior to ending the phone call, which we found very helpful because Maps did take us to the shop but wasn't necessarily how you get into the parking space. Parking entrance is on 12th (not Harding) and you will turn in between Hokkaido Ramen and 12th Ave Diner. You will need to take a ticket and I believe it was $0.75/hour. I paid a total of $1.50 for parking. On our appointment day, I was pleased to see that they're doing an amazing job at following appropriate COVID-19 precautions. Temperature checks, and they monitor the amount of people allowed in the shop at a time. We met with the owner and he did my fiancé's fitting and right off the bat, our experience and customer service was astounding! He explained everything thoroughly to us and made sure all our questions were answered! He also gave us some helpful tips/suggestions on how we could style the groom and groomsmen differently. He let my fiancé try on different things just so we could see how it looked. We appreciate all the help we received! My fiancé and I are trying to enjoy every step of planning for our wedding and who would have thought something as simple as where we went for our tux fitting made such a difference - also, your groomsmen would also be coming for their fitting as well so making sure to choose somewhere they would also feel comfortable is something to consider! After we did a little fitting, we got quoted and was actually cheaper than what we were quoted at Men's Wearhouse! And the fit somehow also looked better!! The owner and his wife are such nice people and we will recommend this place to anyone and everyone!!!

Aloha! As many times…read moreas I have window shopped at Salvage Public at South Shore Market throughout the years, it wasn't until I saw Hōkūpa'a, Nāpali, and another staff (I hope you can forgive me for not asking for your name) at their pop-up location in Hilo. The Merrie Monarch vibes must have kicked in and I had to finally pop that cherry. I initially went with my hula family and used that time to soak everything in. The next day I went back alone to purchase a few items I couldn't stop thinking about. Both Nāpali and Hōkūpa'a hyped me up during my visit and all items I tried on was sold on the spot. Countless hugs and mahalo were exchanged during my encounter with them. Again, I had to go in a third time just to mahalo your (business) ʻohana during my trip to Hilo! Just about a week later I figured I would "window shop" again during my lunch break at South Shore Market and I was able to catch up with Hōkūpa'a. Then after some time of being educated about the items at the store I was sold again - resulting in me purchasing even more items than I did in Hilo! More hugs and mahalo were shared that day. I can't thank Nāpali a me Hōkūpa'a and the rest of the Salvage Public ʻohana enough for your continued legendary service every time I visit.

Jamie W and I were waiting for our reservation at The Pig and The Lady (review: https://yelp.to/LhZdZcHz26), so we had time to explore the Kaimuki neighborhood. Beyond the necessary malasada at Pipeline Bakery (review: https://yelp.to/coxyVLI5P8), we were curious about a couple of LGBTQ-owned businesses on Waialae Avenue. One was a fun pet supply emporium, The Public Pet (review: https://yelp.to/XXvGoRe97Q), and this was the other store. There were plenty of things to browse. Clothing and accessories appeared to dominate the main hallway, while housewares, handbag, and fabrics were presented in the back area. There were unique items like colorful hair clips, duck-head umbrellas, and tins of mackerel filets. Andrew makes sure there's nothing predictable about the inventory here, which makes a return visit mandatory. RELATED - Exploring Hawaii? Hawaii's Finest Clothing is like walking into a club as this vibrant shop does start from it's storefront with the cool neon logo shining bright along side the huge window with their various logos. So much to choose from along with lots of clearance items making it a great deal shopping here is an experience to find clothing for the whole group. Service here is very friendly and helpful though I didn't find anything today know that I will be back to support this amazing local small biz as they have so many great clothing to express ourselves. He didn't know where they got it from. Then he found a small in the other shirt he received and the male sales associate asked if he had a gift receipt. No, we didn't have one.
