    Eating breakfast pancake

Amazing view while eating you have the option to eat inside or outside in a 2nd deck patio while watching airplanes take off. Would recommend if you're in the area. Only thing I didn't like is that they took forever with my orange juice and asked about 3 times and had somebody come over asking for proof that I did get an orange juice like why would I lie about that...

My wife heard about Black Walnut Café and wanted to try it out for breakfast one Sunday morning. We have always found that any café that is located at an airport is always a great place to eat and Black Walnut was no exception although a bit different from what we are used to. After waiting in line to get in, we were served cafeteria style and this I was not expecting. It worked and was different. Just not used to this at an airport café. In any case, I tried out the chicken and waffles; a Belgium waffle with some really good chicken tenders to go with my Bloody Mary. My wife went with the ham and cheese omelet with her Bloody Mary. I really enjoyed my chicken and waffles. They chicken was crisp and flavorful and both my wife and I enjoyed our meals and Bloody Maries. Overall, a really good meal served by the window so we could watch the airplanes take off and land. I look forward to returning to the Black Walnut Café.

Ambiance: Cafe with breakfast, brunch, and regular menu items located at the Conroe Regional Airport. Clean, fast, & friendly service! This location is really neat because you can watch the airplanes land/take off and view all of the smaller aircrafts or helicopters. Highly recommend for families, kids, friend groups, or a unique brunch date. I love the avocado toast. My husband says the chicken fried steak is one of the best he's ever had. Highly recommend the mimosas or beermosas. This is a fun spot for bringing out of town guests or enjoying a unique vibe! Patio and indoor seating. Parking onsite. Do note that they are cashless!

We loved checking out the Black Walnut Cafe at the Conroe Airport. It was really cool to see the planes take off on the runway while eating our lunch. We really enjoyed chicken wraps, pork belly blt, & burger. It was a really nice setup to sit inside or outdoors and you order at the counter or at the table. If you order at the counter they give you a tracker and they find you to deliver your food. This was a great experience!

Food and service are always excellent. I ordered the Avacado toast with eggs this morning. Ahmed had the cinnamon roll French toast with eggs. Can't go wrong with that!

First time here as new transplants from California, and we love it! The food was great, chicken and waffles - YUM! The customer service is beyond exceptional. Our server, Abby was gracious and very knowledgeable about the menu choices. The view of the aircrafts landing and taking off was spectacular!!! We will be back for sure!!! Oh, the Bloody Mary was greeaaattttttt!!!!!

Went for lunch with our office. The food was great and the service was great also. We had Thai lettuce wraps for an appetizer and my entree was the fish tacos. Everything was superb. Would definitely recommend and go back again.

Wow! First, I would like to say I was pleasantly surprised. Driving into an airport for breakfast was a bit off putting, once I got to the 3rd floor, wow! The classic Pan Am posters, light music, and distant chattering of voices and plates clinging really made it a great atmosphere! Not to mention the view of the trees and planes flying. The service is great as well, thank you Brianna for tending to me and my date. Everyone had a smile and was happy to help us for our first time. And of course, the food was great. The potatoes were crispy, aromatic and fresh. The chicken sausage was juicy and had a snap. Pancakes were also fluffy and blueberries on top had a fresh snap as well. Finally the eggs were perfect as well. This place definitely deserves a 5 stars. It will be our main Sunday breakfast place from now on!

Right in the midst of Conroe Regional Airport, this is a great place to eat and watch the arrival and departures of local air traffic. There isn't a bad seat in the house, but if you want to be at the window, grab a table when it's open and have someone else place your order in the line. Service is good with the kitchen following up with questions about dietary needs. The food is the same Black Walnut menu we all know and love but for some reason our orders were all over cooked. Likely an anomaly.

It has to be Conroe's most unique hidden gem such a vibey relaxing atmosphere even tho it's at a airport lol. Review time Lobster Benedict: 9.6/10 huge chunks of lobster meat and hollandaise sauce was absolutely spot on even with that they still put some smoked applewood bacon on it.

Second time here and the food was delicious again. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich and it was very thin. Very little chicken, more breading than meat. Ambience was nice- place was packed, but as soon as a table left, staff was immediately clearing it for the next customer. Well staffed and keeping up with the rush was nice. Didn't have to wait a long amount of time. Price was a little higher, but inflation has hit us all. Anyways, great experience this time as well.

Tonight, 3/5/26, we revisited The Red Brick Tavern, in Conroe for dinner…read more We walked in to some local talent on stage belting out song after song. At some point, we lost count on the songs, as one blended into another and each sounded just like the one before it. Hey, it was Thursday and he was a local putting himself out there for us to listen to. It's nice to have live entertainment during dinner and the background music was just background enough. Our seats were near the bar at the high top tables that gave a commanding view of the stage and bar area. The place was crowded for a Thursday night, filled with regulars enjoying the food and ambiance this century old building exudes in spades. Much like the breakfast menu we enjoyed a few weeks ago, our meals were almost identical. We both enjoyed the Reuben sandwich for our dinner. I personally wished it had more kraut, but the corned beef was tender and flavorful. I had added the sweet potato fried and we shared the cheesy fries as an appetizer. Cheesy fries do not do it justice. They were coated with more than enough cheese, accented with chopped onions and other herbs that added flavor and texture. Our waitress was wonderful and explained anything we had a question about during our meal order. I had an amber beer with dinner that really accented the reuben nicely. All in all, the dinner service was as enjoyable as our venture in there for breakfast. The Red Brick Tavern has now become a place we will go to more often ... not only for the food, but for the ambiance. Ciao, Darrell

We came here to watch a game that of course, no else cared about inside so we opted to sit outside because we were also with my kids. Took them forever to put it on and hook up the sound. After awhile more people started joining in and watching with us but it's hot in TX and there's no fans out there, plus the food comes out and the flies just swarm you. It took a guy to come help us out on a makeshift fly repellant to make our experience a little better. Server was not attentive at all and was worried about other things I guess. This place would be much better if they changed their kid policy, had fans outside and had better waitresses.

The food was decent, but trying to get a server and keep one was very challenging. At one point, we seen all the waitresses walking around the cement walkway together far away from customers.... Just hanging out. Not only were we irritated, but I could see that others were as well. My husband had to go to the bar and get a beer since we couldn't find our waitress. The bartender ignored him and continued her story to another employee while my husband stood there. She finished her story and then took his order. This was on a Sunday around 2 PM so it wasn't extremely busy. The service was very disappointing and we won't be back. The two star rating is because the food was decent.

I've had…read morethis place on my radar for awhile as I am a huge fan of visiting breweries everywhere I go. Come to find out days before our trip that Southern Star has decided to shut down at the end of June. Sad to see one of Texas' oldest breweries closing down. I had to get here before they did because their beers are great. It's right off 45 and easy to find tucked away off a side road. The grounds are beautiful as well as the building itself. The inside taproom isn't large but the building itself is so I'm wondering they have more hangout spaces. They also have a nice deck where a lot of people were hanging out. Customer service was great. Most everyone in our crew got a flight so we could try a few things. Prices here are excellent and won't break the bank. That's what I love most about breweries. I went with the Strawberry Blonde, Southern Brunch (citrus shandy), Texas Lager, and Pit Stop (cherry cider). I really enjoyed them all especially the Southern Brunch. My friends ordered some apps for the table such as fried pickles, fried mushrooms and waffle fries. They came out piping hot and were all tasty. I saw some pizzas leaving the kitchen and they looked excellent. They also had deals on whole cases of beer for 20 bucks. Killer deal that my friend took advantage of. Sad to see this place is closing. Great breweries are a dying breed from what I have read. If these places weren't so far I would support them more. I wish everyone in the company well and hopefully see them come back in the future.

Southern Space was down a tree lined road kind of in the woods in a very nice space. I didn't get to see what the outside area was like (If there was one) but I did see they had a large front porch to hang out at. We got here around 8 or 9 pm and I ordered my usual flight. The place was happening; country music was playing which is not to my taste but at least it wasn't quiet. My flight consisted of a Bombshell Blonde, a Bombshell Hefeweizen, Bombshell Smash IPA, and a Valkyrie (DIPA). Why isn't this place just called Bombshell brewing? Anyway. The beers were all decent but nothing that wow'd me. If I had to pick a favorite, it would probably have been the Hefe. They had a kitchen onsite serving up burgers, pizzas and all the fried apps that places usually do. Unfortunately, we had already eaten so I can't really report on that.
