Service was really good, food was tasty. Have been there many times. Just make sure you check you bill before you leave. We were celebrating 2 birthday (same day) was advised both were entitled to free desert. We were charged for both (total $22.00). sent email next day, no response. I gave this restaurant 2 stars because the food was good. I went with a party of 9. 2 kids and 7 adults. A waitress charged us 21% automatic gratuity which only applies to a party of 10 according to their policy. They also had a roach on the table and the waitresses acted like they didn't hear us talking about it although we all got up to see where it went. Highly don't recommend. 7/26 read more

Had an early dinner here last night. We both at off the St Patrick's day menu. Wife had Reuben, looked good. I had fried fish tacos, fish was a bit greasy, would prob do blackened reg fish tacos next time. Very plentiful, both portions. Crispy, crunchy fries. Good price, good service, good atmosphere. I believe the burgers are the specialty here. The fish tacos were not great but just ok. I ate o e and a half. I won't order them again but at least I'm not hungry. The fries were better than the fish. They were overly seasoned and somewhat salty. I hate I ordered them but aye.... Better luck next time. I'd come back but not order the same entire. read more

Wow, what an unexpected delight this was. I've lived in Ballentine for 12 years never have been in this place stopped in on a whim and was very pleasantly surprised. Started out with two espresso martinis. They were phenomenal. Perfect. I couldn't have asked for any better then we went on and we split a black thin burger and had extra extra extra crispy fries. Burger was cooked perfection I asked for medium well and it was exactly what I asked for pot fresh. French fries were perfect. I am such a french fry knob and I always have really low expectations. They blew me away. Mallory was our bartender and she was awesome a pleasure to talk to and did a fantastic job. We will definitely come back. It is at this time quiet but it is relatively early on Saturday afternoon and she expects a large group to be here tonight. read more

Chris Gill, the manager of Blackfinn, managed to single handily ruined New Years Eve for sooo many people! For weeks the attached photo has been on social media.. About 20 of us arrived at 8 expecting to dance and have a great time with a well known and awesome DJ in this area, Curt from Capt's Sam's. Curt started playing great music at 8pm but was immediately shut down because Ohio State was playing and apparently Blackfinn is a host to Ohio State games. Several of us approached Chris Gill, the manager. and he said that he "had a contract with an Ohio State Fan Club" and music could not be played until the game was over (10:45). I specifically asked him why he continued to advertise and charge for a dj from 8-12 when that was not true. He claimed he "just found out" that Ohio State played tonight. I showed him that Ohio State has known since December 7 they were playing tonight. He walked away at that point. To make the night worse, the VIP area (that people paid extra for) was shut down at 11pm and we were told it was " last call" and we needed to "move our personal belongings". Who shuts down a New Years Eve party at 11? So many patrons left and I feel especially sorry for the DJ. We all complained to him and he informed us he was not told in advance that he could not play dance music while the game was on. Such a disappointing night. It was evident that Blackfinn was solely more concerned about volume vs. customer service. We have been loyal Blackfinn customers but NEVER again! read more

Your run of the mill sports bar. Came in with a large party and they got all the dishes right, from burgers to wings to fish to pasta. No standout dishes but nothing you would have an issue with either. I had the shrimp and garlic linguine and I was satisfied. Tons of shrimp (no complaints from me there!) and heavy on the garlic (no complaints from me but perhaps from others!) but the side of garlic bread was a lowlight, a bit stale. But overall, better than I expected. Service was super friendly and they checked up on us multiple times. It's a loud environment like you'd expect, but it all turns into background noise so it's easy to forget about it. If you have a large after work party, check them out. read more

I ent here for a special fundraising event for first responders. Purchased a VIP ticket that came with a buffet of crab legs, salmon, oysters etc. when I eat crab legs I think of them being hot and served with butter which these were not. They came on ice and no melted butter or even a cracker for the claws. When asked if they had any, was told no. However they still had great flavor in spite of not being hot so that's a plus. Also the VIP area was upstairs, and there are no bathrooms upstairs. So if you have to constantly go, you're running back and forth downstairs. I just found it to be an odd set up. But anyways the staff were friendly and the place was packed so obviously it's really popular. There was an 80s tribute band playing outside that were really great but got a bit cold so couldn't stay long, but from what I understand live music is usually indoors. read more

Midsized American Pub with ample indoor, bar, and patio seating. The service is decent but can get a bit overwhelmed if there's a crowd. The menu has a nice variety of food choices and drinks. They even have brunch options on the weekend. Depending on when you go there may be live music outside in the square while you dine which makes for a nice atmosphere to enjoy a meal. We had a chance to try Saturday brunch which was pretty good. Went back the following week for dinner and the food was just okay. read more

My husband & I visited this place last night as a last resort, & I was not disappointed. The staff were friendly, welcoming, & accommodating. We were place at a table inside & we realized we wanted to sit elsewhere & we were able to do so with no problems at all. Also, the waitress was attentive & helpful. She didn't drink but she was able to recommend some great drink choices based on her previous customers. The food was great. I had the blackened chicken Alfredo which tasted pretty good, it was missing something that I couldn't quite put my finger on but it didn't take away from the experience. I'd probably go with the Tuscan pasta next time ... I was torn between the two! The music was great. It was definitely a chill, laid-back, Friday night vibe! Well -- some of the food items were great and some not so good this time. Ordered the Mac and Cheese with pulled pork and the Shrimp Linguine. Both were good and tasty. Brussel sprouts and Grit Cakes were not cooked enough nor seasoned correctly. We also had the Fried Haddock which was good but very small for the price. Service is always good but the food is average at best. Salads are probably the most consistently good. Never been disappointed. I had chicken garlic pasta the last time and it was outrageously spicy hot. Did not expect that at all. Very disappointed. Chicken Parm Slider: well, it's not Italian chicken parm. It's Southern fried chicken which is actually very good. Crisp & tasty. BUT the sauce is straight out of a can. So while the chicken is a hit it wasn't what I expected as far as 'parm' so I wouldn't order it again. But I'd have the chicken in a 'Southern' heartbeat! The burgers are decent and that's usually my go to when we go there. I had the 'Barcelona' once. Never again. Beef was like sliced 'rubber.' But my husband LOVES the salads. I've had a few and they really are quite good. Overall, the food is average fare. The service is excellent. read more

Great place to watch a Buckeye game. However; when one asks to watch another game that is on the several tv's at Blackfinn, it is met with indifference or an inconvenience. Three out of the four times, the bartender asked a manager that to find the channel and the manager gave up and the bartenders didn't let me know. This is my first time at BlackFin. I was served a MARGARITA with MOLD all over the inside of the Mason Jar The waitress took the drink back as if this happens all the time. I mean I literally could wipe the mold with my finger. The bartender nor the manager came to see if I was ok after drinking from this disgusting glass. I was with friends for a brunch meeting but was reluctant if I should even eat here. Then when receiving my chicken and waffles, the waffles were cold and hard, I had to wait for 10-15 mins for new waffles, while waiting the chicken that was left at the table got cold. When the waffles and fries came it was no point in eating it. This experience was HORRIBLE, after all these issues. I was still never addressed by management. Service and drinks were great. Great atmosphere plenty of TVs, it was excellent. Food was unfortunately pretty disappointing. I ordered the Balboa which for $20 was just a large roast beef provolone melt on par with Arby's. No seasoning very bland. Definitely not worth $20. We also ordered a buttered chicken sandwich for $16. The sandwich was ok, but for $9 and the same portion with a much better flavor profile, just go to Bossy Beulah's in the Bowl a mile away. read more

What I ordered was great, I only wish that the hostess or server had offered me the "happy hour " menu. I only found out about it because the ladies behind me requested it. I find a lot of times because I'm eating alone. I don't get the attention of couples or individuals who order alcohol. This is a huge mess for servers, especially because people who are eating along out of town are probably on expense account. I do recommend the food. Don't expect great service. We didn't finish our meals, and took leftovers to-go but really just boxed them up to throw them away later. Our server was incredibly nice, just not very attentive. We were in Charlotte for a wedding and saw blackfin. It looked like it was a good place to eat. So 12 of us booked a reservation and we're promptly seated. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was fun. They even had a two-man band playing we split appetizers we had the Maryland crab and shrimp dip highly recommended, the blackened brie Was good. The chicken wings were delicious and then we split some main courses. The wife and I split the Blackened fish tacos with each of us getting a side salad the salad and the tacos were delicious. Highly recommend, one of our friends got the blackened chicken pasta they were very disappointed in the chicken with it being thin and dry they commented the pasta was very good with the sauce Others got the fish and chips and wrap with everyone enjoying their food. Stopped for Sunday lunch after my daughter's soccer game. Menu looked good and had plenty of options for everyone. Service was great, server was on point during opening weekend of NFL football with what looked like a short staffed group. Food and drink was about averaged priced to slightly higher, you can expect about on average about $17 per person for non main entree item and a drink. Had the chili cheese fries from the GameDay menu, was good but portion size was small. Meal wise we had the chicken blt tacos, chicken avocado wrap, and I gave the southern nachos a try. My wife and daughter liked the wrap and tacos, portions looked good on those and each came with a side. My nachos were a good size, could've used more toppings but in all it was good. Very safe dining here! Our second dine in experience in 6 months rather than takeout. The accommodations for outdoor seating was impressive. Towards the end of our meal it started raining but we were good. Both patios are covered. Staff wear masks. Sanitizer is provided at the door. Restrooms were clean. We fell in love with the menu because it wasn't your typical pub menu. We tried the calamari, fried deviled eggs, cauliflower tots, wings, crab dip. Everything was delicious except the deviled eggs. Not everything should be fried. Didn't have good flavor to us. Good service. We'll definitely try again. read more

This place is a Packers bar. Charlotte's Greenbay Packers fans gather here to watch the football games. This is what brought me in today at least. The fans did not disappoint. They were doing a cash raffle where one of the customer's even won over $100. The restaurant offered game day specials on certain foods and beers. There was tons of seating both indoor and outdoor. The people were very welcoming. The bar staff was on top of their duties. The drinks and food came fast. Only thing that would've made this experience better is if my team actually won. read more

I recently visited Blackfinn Ameripub and had a very disappointing experience. Despite being seated promptly, and we got our drink and appetizer order taken. Although we had done this the staff seemed uninterested and failed to take our entree order. It was frustrating to be ignored, and ultimately, we decided to leave without having our meal. Some may say we left too soon but we had been sitting there no word from our server for 30-45 minutes. I hope the management addresses these issues to improve their service. read more
