Even after many years of being in business H2O still holds up to its reputation. The quality of the food has been consistently high since I first visited in the early 2000's. They offer a variety of exceptional seafood & sushi dishes, none of which you can go wrong with along with great drink selections. I recently stopped by here for dinner with my boyfriend. I noticed that they incorporated a prix fixe menu so I took advantage of that. I ordered the wedge salad appetizer, everything crusted tuna with sides of spinach & wasabi mashed potatoes. And for dessert I chose the fudge layer cake. The tuna was perfectly cooked and the mashed potatoes had just the right amount of wasabi to give it flavor, but not so much that it was spicy. My only criticism would be that the service was a bit on the slow side. It took some time for my drink to arrive and had some difficulty getting waiter's attention for a simple water refill. Although I ate here on a weekday night, it seemed a lot less busy than I remember it. Hopefully that's just because it was a slow week. read more

The service itself was decent, and I appreciated the server and bussers who helped us out. But the food took forever to come out. I usually am patient but it was comically slow. But like other reviews mentioned, the food and ambiance are lackluster. The sushi here is very plain and not worth it. For the price point and having thought this restaurant was known for their seafood, I was underwhelmed. I had two sushi dishes and both were misses. My partner got the chimichurri filet tips, which he said were inconsistently seasoned and bland. The potatoes were good, though, and it's unfortunate that this had the most flavor overall. I was surprised that the decor on the inside felt a bit outdated and I couldn't hear anyone at my table because of the noise here. For the price point, everything didn't seem to add up. I don't think I'll ever go here again--it's difficult to reconcile the price point with the quality of the food and setting. read more

The restaurant was great and quaint with average noise that focuses on sushi and seafood as the name says. My only complaint is the slow waitstaff due to them only having one or two waiters, by the time you get your food you are hungry again. The food was delicious from appetizers to entrees to desserts: Had the everything crusted tuna, perfectly cooked medium rare, however the mashed potatoes had a very strong horseradish taste the overpowered the fish. The beef Wellington was perfectly cooked on the inside but the puff pastry was too dense and not flakey. The swordfish with couscous, salmon, and crab cake were delicious and used high quality seafood. I had a sangria wasn't bad. Ambience was nice. Crowded good set up. A lot of seating. May reservations was on point and on time each day they have a three course mail for 3949 and $59. H2O will always be one of my favorite restaurants. The place is always beautiful and the service has been positive during most visits. I love checking their website to see the wine Wednesday dinners that they're hosting for the month. Everything I've had has been delicious from the scallops to the steaks to the dynamic desserts. The food was solid. Nothing special, nothing bad. The shrimp cocktail was very good. The shrimp and lobster wontons needed some more sauce. They did not have enough flavor on their own. The popover can be skipped. Not too tasty. The scallops were delicious, but sat on a bed of crispy rice that had no flavor. If salt was used it was soaked up and did not add to the flavor. The wine list is OK but could do with less of the prosecco, Bogle, and Santa Margarita and more locals like Bedell. Great waiter, but that is the only positive comment we can share. Ordered dumplings, Caesar salad and two sushi rolls to share between two of us. The roll tasted old, soggy and beyond super bland -- lacking any and all flavor. Presentation was also terrible. The sriracha roll, for example, had several tiny shrimp doused in sauce just dumped indiscriminately on top of the roll. This made the roll impossible to pick up because it became so soggy that it fell apart and was gross. The other roll was supposed to have shrimp inside. If there was one chopped shrimp in the entire roll, it was a lot. It was about $20 and contained nothing more than avocado, some "mushy" ingredients and rice. Booths are overly narrow with the tables set at a very uncomfortable height for anyone under 5'7". Our server was efficient was attentive and efficient which we appreciated. It's been years since we were last at H20, and we were surprised to see that there is now a $3 charge for a single soggy popover that used to be complimentary. So not worth it IMHO. On the night we dined, there were several families with unruly, loud, young children who were seated right near tables with just couples. The noise carried on for most of our meal while the parents failed to attend to their kids. We would no longer consider H20 a place for finer dining and service. We will not be returning anytime soon. read more

I was extremely disappointed with my experience at H2O. I've dined at many restaurants including Insignia and Prime, but this was by far one of the worst experiences I've had. From the moment we walked in, the hostess was unprofessional and rude. The staff were busy laughing and chatting among themselves instead of greeting or seating customers properly. Once seated, the noise level was unbearable ,it felt more like a chain restaurant than a fine dining establishment. It took about 15 minutes before anyone even came to our table. When the sushi finally arrived, it was terrible,I've had much better quality at local spots. My main course was just as disappointing, and the dessert looked like it was carelessly thrown onto the plate. Even the bathrooms were dirty, and the servers continued socializing instead of attending to guests. If I could give zero stars, I would. I definitely will not be returning to H2O .I should've gone to Casa Rustica instead. read more

I feel like this is a place with an identity crisis. The price point would suggest that the restaurant is somewhat on the upscale side. However the decor is confusing. Outside you have fire pits and mood lighting but inside you have booths like you'd find in a diner. The food was good although the menu is somewhat limited. One of my favorite restaurants around. Service is always great, food is consistently delicious. I come for happy hour all the time and always have a great time at the bar. The oysters are always fresh and delicious (and perfectly cold!) The tuna poke nachos are another favorite. I've never had it, but my girlfriend swears by the starr roll. I've done a handful of the wine dinners and am always impressed with my meal. At the last wine dinner I had a crème brûlée cheesecake that could have been one of the best desserts I've ever had. I'm happy with the Happy Hour at H2O. It's a great way to check out this restaurant without having to take out a loan to pay for supper. Happy hour runs from 4 pm to 6 pm midweek. A glass of wine is only $7. We ordered 6 appetizers to share and 2 drinks, and with tax, we just hit the C-note total and we were stuffed. Tuna poke nachos, really aren't nacho chips but fried wonton skins. The tuna was fresh, but the avocado under ripe and hard. Lobster ravioli only has 3, the pasta was a little bit under cooked but the sauce was lick bowl delicious. The lobster shrimp wonton were also undercooked but tasty. The spicy tuna roll was spicy with a kick. Stuffed little next clams were excellent. Fried calamari was so soft, hot, Golden brown and crunchy. It was served with tartar sauce instead of tomato sauce. Definitely would go back again for Happy Hour, which also had a $20 hamburger, wings, and a few other items available. I love this place. It's been way too long since I last was here and still great as always! Went out with my husband for our date night. We shared the cowboy roll, always one of our favorites. For dinner my husband had the swordfish. He cleaned the plate, it was so good. I had the sea scallops, which I loved. We also shared the crispy Brussel sprouts which had a little kick but were perfect addition to our meal. I was pretty full so I took the rest of my dinner home to enjoy again another night. Service was also excellent, the manager even stopped by briefly to make sure everything was going well. Just that extra touch made the evening that much better. We have not been to H2O for quite a while and were pleasantly surprised. They changed the menu and offer a terrific prix fix menu. My wife and I had the scallops, flounder oreganata and both were delicious. The taco nachos were delicious and we enjoyed some unique desserts as well. This place has been on our list for a while so we were excited to finally dine here. Unfortunately we weren't overly impressed or blown away, but still enjoyed ourselves. The ambiance outside is nice with the Fire and Water on the patio, inside felt dated. -Calamari: 4/5, this was very good. Lightly fried not overly done leaving you feeling horrible like most others. 99% rings which I'm a big fan of. Very good, probably the best dish of the night. -Crabcake: 1/5, two bites and had to send it back. Didn't taste fresh at all. Super fishy and for almost $30 a single small crabcake seemed way overpriced considering the quality. -Montauk Tuna: 4/5, the tuna was better than expected. The everything seasoning was very good, and the wasabi mashed were a great pair. Seared perfectly. Overall we had a decent meal. The drinks were mediocre, the service was good, and most of the food was good. But maybe our expectations were set a bit high because we both left feeling less than satisfied, and neither of us have much desire for a second visit. read more

We still opted for the wine pairing which wasn't too pricey. First, we had some oysters which were great. Our waitress was very helpful and attentive. The wine pairings were all great, but I wasn't a fan of the merlot. For appetizers we had the calamari and the wings. Both were delicious. I had salmon and my bf had flounder entrees. Met a friend here for an early dinner on a Thursday afternoon! I've been wanting to come here for quite sometime, so when my friend suggested we come here, I couldn't refuse! Reservations are currently required for both indoor and outdoor dining. They have precautions in place throughout. Menus are paper and one time use only. They also have a QR menu scanner so that you can see the menu on your phone. All workers were wearing masks and gloves. To start I had the starr roll and my friend had the montauk roll. The starr roll was delicious and fresh. Not sure how the montauk roll tasted, but I'm sure it was delish as my friend ate it all. After we finished our first rolls, we decided to order two more rolls to split. The h2o roll and the crunchy crustacean roll. DELICIOUS! FRESH! Our waiter was great. He didn't rush us and continued to check back on us. When we placed our order for our first rolls, he asked us about any allergies the chef needs to know about. The Ambiance was nice. But the service was slow because from the time we ordered till we finished dessert 2 hours went by. From our drink to our 3 course prix fixe each course was delivered about 30 minutes apart. Our main course we ordered the Delmonico steak and the beef Wellington which was extra on top of the base price of the prix fixe. The Delmonico was good with the fried onions on top but it didn't come with any sides like a vegetable or fries which made the portion seem cheap for the money we paid. My GF ordered the Beef Wellington and told me that the puff pastry was very greasy which it was. The Sangria alcoholic drinks we ordered was watered down with ice stirring the liquid around brought out more of the taste but it was like drinking fruit juice. The first cocktails we bought I didn't mind the way it tasted but my Gf didn't like the way hers tasted. Bottom line the service could improve and the sides on premium dishes be made available at no extra charge. read more
