Blackfish was one of our favorite restaurants. We've been going there almost 10 years. We've noticed the food quantity, quality, and service have been degraded. We waited 25 minutes after we were sat down to get our waitress over to get our drinks order. The menu has less items on it. The steak was not as good. We let the waitress know the we were sharing the steak and we were told that we weren't allowed to do that. That was weird. read more

Ordered alder wood-smoked salmon, fried chicken, seafood bowl and halibut steak. 2 highlights: the three cheese with fried flat bread was interesting, we cant stop eating. The other one is Pacific Northwest Bony Bowl was a 5 of 5. Other than these two, all the rest were about 3.5 out of 5. Halibut is too salty. Heritage salmon too plain, not much flavor. Concluding our Christmas and New Year holiday, we decided to come to Tulalip and spend the evening, throw a couple quarters in the casino, spend the evening in the hotel, maybe swim in the pool and soak in the hot tub. All of this was fantastic...but Dinner topped any expectations we had...wow...!!! We were greeted and immediately seated in a warm and cozy booth. We ordered drinks and scanned through the menu. Cheri chose a Caesar salad to start, then the filet mignon with broccolini and mashed potatoes...she raved it was fantastic. I ordered the oysters on the half shell...chefs selection...OMG they were devine. Following, I ordered the King Salmon, with both green beans and asparagus. The salmon was remarkable, cooked to perfection and with a buttery sauce. For dessert, Cheri ordered chocolate ice cream, and I ordered the Sugar Free cheese cake. Both were remarkable...and a coffee completed the evening. Service was spot on. Our server (Maria I believe her name was), was attentive, witty and funny, just a really nice person. Each and every time we have had dinner here we have been impressed by the food and service. Ordered the steak and lobster tail! The lobster was so fresh and divine! Perfectly cooked, melted in your mouth. Steak was pretty decent too. The sea bass fish with pesto sauce was to die for! My highlight this last time was the Nutella Beignets! Those was amazing! It's delicious. My husband and daughter took me to celebrate my birthday and every bite was an experience. We had the walla walla onion soup and the salmon flight as appetizers. As main course they had the halibut and the halibut fish & chips and the heritage salmon for myself. Try the roasted garlic mashed potatoes as side, so yummy! Blackfish was my absolute favorite restaurant and the only one I ever wanted to go out to. my husband and I frequented at least twice a month. since Covid, the menu has drastically gotten smaller. We were told it was due to stuff shortage from Covid, but it has just continued to get smaller with not very many options, including everyone's favorite Tillamok hash. Among my favorites: Barrell Dovetail, Elmer T Lee, Mid Winter's Night Dram, and a selection of Pappy Van Winkle. And their French Onion Soup goes really well with whiskey! The side of crab was scary. It was incredibly salty and fishy. Almost like the smell of dead crab on the side of the beach. We live in Marysville and it's safe to say we won't be back. Came in for our anniversary because all the reviews were really good. Staff was very friendly and our food came out in a timely fashion. We ordered the lobster and crab. Delicious!!!! The only thing that I did not care for was the smell of cigarettes throughout the entire restaurant because it is in the casino and smoking is allowed. Our anniversary was going well until the couple in front of us was arguing for over a half our night. I did mention it to staff but felt like they didn't care. We came here without reading any reviews. The food was mediocre. We ordered 2 filet mignons and they lacked flavor. I was thinking when biting into it that it would just melt in our mouths and just be full of flavor. We have been eaten in Blackfish a couple times a year for about 5 years now. I can say we were never disappointed. We usually start our day in the area shopping/walking in the outlet mall next door, and end our day in Blackfish. Eating here is always something we look forward to! Their complimentary cheesy crips with 3 types of butter dips is simply awesome. It's so unique and yummy, we wish other restaurants can do this too. Their crab cake appetizer with thin apple slices is very good. My favorite entree is their fixed scallops dish with cauliflower mesh and veggies. I just love the flavor combinations of this dish, and can never get enough. My husband usually makes his own entree with salmon. Their salmon is usually cooked perfectly and delicious. You can choose how they are cooked too, wood fire, smoke....etc. In my opinion, Blackfish serves some of the best northwest seafood in the area. Although the pricing is definitely not cheap, I feel that it's worth it once in a while because the quality and the taste of the food are so good! Been visiting this restaurant for years. It was great ; food and service wise. However my last three visit this year has been a constant disappointment. Food quality has degraded dramatically and the service is ridiculously slow. Three times I am there, it would be at least 20 to 30 minutes after being seated before our orders are taken; and eating won't happen until 25 minutes later. Waiters on times are rude and don't care much either, as they are 'busy'. I'll remind myself to not return. read more

I went here for a steak and seafood. I had some issues trying to eat at the bar on a Saturday night, because it's very busy and service was lacking. However, Sunday was way better and I got treated like a real customer. If I hadn't come back I would've never tried their delicious food. To start they bring some hard cracker like crisp with three types of butter. Walla Walla onion was awesome and I even asked for a side of it for my veggies with my meal. No complaints on food from me or any of the guests with me. For starters we tried the crab cakes, which were a tad dry for what I'm use to but three sauces that came with helped make the appetizer way better. For dinner I had filet mignon with garlic butter along with bacon brussel sprouts. My steak was flavorful and prepared how I like it. There's an up-charge for the upgraded vegetable sides. My sister had fish and was surprised by getting such a large portion of food. She had the Tillamook potato hash but didn't really care for it but the server wanted her to be happy with the meal so she brought her a different side. The garlic mash potatoes were way better. We were very full so we skipped dessert. Service on Sunday was wonderful. My suggested is if you want a quieter meal with more attentive service go on Sunday evening. Visited blackfish twice in the past couple months, including Christmas day. Really good seafood. Really great atmosphere. You almost forget that you are in a casino. Love watching the chef(s) cook as the kitchen has a display window. The pre-appetizer thing with the different flavors of butter is really delicious. Our waitress wasn't that kind, but we were hungry and the other options in the casino did not attract our attention. I think this dish and Maneki restaurant is definitely up and up with the best scallops. They also had a appetizer that served arugula, salmon and berries in a dish. I would have never thought these ingredients would match but it was the perfect balance. So much so I eat berries when I eat salmon. Located in the Tulalip Casino. I ate at the bar and Donna was very nice and served us the halibut and the roasted/baked clams. Instead of the boring bread, they provide crunchy, humugous bread leaves coupled with three types of dip, namely a sweet butter, a cheddar and horseradish(?), and a goat cheese concoction(?). The halibut was overcooked at first but they promptly took that back and made me a new dish. Fish had above average taste and OK lemon risotto/ greens but not something I would consider really memorable. The clams, on the other hand, have a smoky flavor and are savory with the bacony bits despite the smaller clams they use. The prices are a bit higher than I would spend on that type of food ($31, $12 respectively) but if I am comped again then I would revisit Blackfish. read more

A mixed review again. Everytime we come here, it's gotten a bit more disappointing. We arrived for dinner to celebrated a long week of working hard. We were greeted by a very "sad" hostess who reminded us of Eeyore from "Winnie the Pooh"... Just plain old sad.. After we were seated, and were perusing the menu, we finally met our waitress. Instead of "Hello" or "How are you?", we were instead greeted with an anxious waitress who was wondering if we were here to see the "Howie Mandel" show. She continued to tell us about the crowds expected for the busy night ahead.. We had a busy enough week at work, we didn't want to hear about someone else's busy week.. We were early before the crowds showed up, so there was no reason for our drinks and oyster order to take as long as they did. There should not have been a reason why our salad was forgotten and then we were challenged by our waitress that we had even ordered one... She did find it on the order form eventually. Now here comes the mixed part... The food is delicious. Inspite of the spike in prices, once again... it was definitely worth every bite and every $$$. Hopefully one of these days, they will teach the staff to present and give the quality of food and the restaurant it respects. A very odd visit indeed. read more

Got the crab legs here and oysters. They were good and the price was reasonable. Plus, they were open late on a Sunday which is great for us graveyard people. The smoky atmosphere was a bit of a detraction to the whole ambience. However, the service was quick and friendly. The dessert was so so....ordered the tart with frozen berries. Not so sure about the frozen berries. The dish was pretty to look at but the frozen berries became difficult to eat after a while. There were a lot of berries and overall it was good, but just too much frozen stuff on the plate. read more
