This Barbershop has to be the best in San Diego! I got my hair cut from Jack and he's a true professional. I'm visiting from Seattle and I've got my barber up there of course, but if Jack, G, and Charlie (the other barbers there) were in Seattle, it'd be my go to. One of the best cuts I've gotten! The vibe was awesome as well; additionally to mention, their hospitality is bar none. The art work to Reservoir Dogs playing in the background was sick. Literally would give this place 10 stars. We are dog sitting in South Park and my boyfriend REALLY needed a haircut. We have walked by this sho so I called to make an appt. My boyfriend got an appt with Giacamo. Right when we walked in we were welcomed and my boyfriend was asked what he wanted. He needed a total over haul. Let's start by saying, this is no ordinary barbershop I can describe the feeling I get each time I put in a request for a haircut appointment with T-Bird (One of the BEST barbers out there) It's the feeling of knowing the quality you're going to receive, and the ability to schedule within any of the working hours he has scheduled. I don't want this review to only be about my experience with T, my go to barber, but about the whole experience I've gotten through the last year. Each time I've walked into the barbershop; I've been greeted with smiles and laughs from the other barbers G, Jack, Sloan, and the owner Charlie. It's always been throwing back shots and a beer or water whenever I've walked in. We chat, we laugh, we talk, we watch movies. I mean, It's part of my regular routine now and that's saying a lot. I schedule my appointments regularly and as of right now, I've been going weekly for the past year. (My Past Experiences with OTHER Barbershops) I've always had uncertainty when it came to having a barber. Usually, I'd make a phone call or shoot a text to the barber I thought I liked. They'd text me back with a time and I'd walk in at the scheduled time to be waiting around for more than an hour while the barber finishes up a phone call or takes in a late appointment that happened to be before me... pushing my appointment. This wasn't my first experience with having a barber who couldn't keep their word, so they'd lose me as a customer pretty quickly. I value time, and I respect others time. If you schedule an appointment, that should be the time you get your haircut because LIFE gets busy. I mean, if you respect your time; you will understand. Now, over the past year... I've not only experienced the best service; but have also built a bond with some amazing barbers who actually value their customers. Not only do they take care of you and dedicate the time that it should take to get a quality hair cut, but are cordial with each and every interaction. They always ask you if you need something to drink, they always greet you with respect, and they damn sure have the most classic vibe when getting a haircut. From the furniture to the classic posters and pictures up on the wall; the ambience speaks for itself. Dig these guys! I went to them for my son's haircut last year but didn't post a review (sorry about that). They were great and fit him in despite having not having an appointment. His hair looked incredible!Today, once again, they delivered a great cut for my little man after he got his hair botched by a female Edward Scissorhands down the street. So I had a big date. Not a date in which I just wanted to look good. This was a date in which I wanted to look amazing, and part of looking amazing is feeling amazing. My barber wasn't supposed to be working that day, but he came in precisely because of my reservation. Sure, he could have just pushed my appointment onto whomever happened to be there, but he made a point of making sure he took care of me. I pointed out a haircut on his poster of classic haircuts, and he told me that wouldn't work for the length I had and recommended something close to what I asked for, yet it was appropriate for the length of the hair on top of my head. The shave was glorious. Hot towels, warm shaving cream, you know the drill. Now that would have been enough, but he also threw in an eyebrow trim and waxed the insides of my ears and nostrils. No random long hairs growing out of this guy's face! When it was all said and done, I felt like a million bucks. A word of advice: come with cash and don't try to haggle on the price. If you want a $20 cut, head over to one of those chain places. If you want the kind of old-school barbering experience, make sure you have the additional cash, and tip your barber well! read more

My coworker recommended this place because her husband always go here. I've been in San Diego for about a year and had a really bad experience at Freshly Faded on El Cajon Blvd so I was weary to try another place. I called yesterday for an app't and the guy was really pleasant and booked me for this morning with JP. The area where the shop is located is really frickin' cute, a lot of coffee and vintage shops and the shop itself is really cool. It's cozy and has a really chill, old-school feel to it. I really love the vintage barber-chairs and pictures on the walls. I was offered a beer or water (which is always a good sign) and they had Encino-man playing on the tv. JP gave me everything I asked for with my cut and he went above and beyond what I asked for (and I'm a licensed hairstylist). Really, really pleased. I was visiting from Rhode Island and I walked by the shop a few times and was impressed by the style and old school feel of it. So I called made an appointment and they got me right in. Great barbershop. My experience: It's one of the few good barbershops open on Sunday. I called at 10 am and got a 1230 pm appointment same day. Before the appointment, I got a text to see if I wanted to move the appointment up which was really nice. When I walked in I was offered a beverage selection of beer, water, and shot. I chose a shot of whiskey to sip on. There's a tv with cable and the wait went by fast. Jack cut my hair. He was awesome. He's really good. The other barber G was personable too. During the cut, the owner, Charlie, came in. Super cool dude with a great story. It just makes you want to support the small barbershop even more. The cut was an hour long and cost 30 dollars. I have thin flat Asian hair and got a nice combover fade. I really liked it. I would highly recommend this place. read more
