I've waited a while to allow the vacation glow to wear off so I can give an honest evaluation of…read morethe restaurant. The best part: The scrambled eggs. Whatever they are doing to get them as thick, creamy and delicious, don't stop. My kids who are avowed egg haters devoured them. The breakfast meats are all top quality. Thick cut bacon, and old style sausage links, both cooked to perfection. The biscuit and gravy is delightful in that way that you can only get by using real ingredients, not from a can. The warm doughnuts are very good, but IMO overrated. They're a cake style that would be mealy once they cooled...not my preference. The ambiance is log cabin shanty with nods to the area's logging past. But honestly by tge time you're seated, you are to frazzled to enjoy it. The bad: The price. When you break it down, it was $90 for four people for breakfast. Ouch! I get it, locally sourced foods, overhead, etc.. but...woah! All in all, we are glad we stopped for the experience. We were saddened to see that the Lumber Jack Show has recently closed. So keep that in mind as you choose your destination.

BUYER BEWARE: GIFT SHOP WARNING Be extremely cautious making…read moreany purchases in the gift shop you're forced to weave through when entering and exiting. We bought our daughter a NeeDoh squishy, and before we even left the parking lot to head back to Chicago, it was already broken. The original cashier was wonderfully sweet and swapped it out without hesitation. Unfortunately, the replacement broke within seconds of normal use in the car. When I went back in for a refund, the cashier understood, but the manager on duty took over and refused to process it. She flat-out refused to give her name (so I'll call her "Karen"), accused my daughter of breaking them by "squeezing too roughly," and claimed they've sold thousands with zero returns. I pointed out that most tourists buy items and immediately drive home, which explains why people don't return. She remained firm, rude, and refused the $8.99 refund. My daughter owns plenty of squishies that last for months--a good manager would recognize a defective batch instead of blaming a child. Unless $9 is coming directly out of her paycheck, there's no excuse for that attitude. RESTAURANT REVIEW As for the food: expect a fairly long line depending on the season and time of day, but once seated, the service is good and the all-you-can-eat food is solid. Just note that kids' pricing is no longer "pay your age"--it's now tiered pricing by age (I've attached a receipt photo for reference). VERDICT: The restaurant itself is definitely worth a stop to eat, but completely skip the gift shop trap. If an item is defective, management won't care and will blame you for it.

The larger groups waiting for a table spilled into the lot. So be careful not to run anyone over... The theme is cute. The inside is a little worn. The plates and cups have grey marks from silverware. The restaurant is actually very big inside. The service was very prompt. I like that the selection of pancakes flavors was beyond what you usually find at an IHOP. They also do crepes and French toast etc. The portions were pretty big! I shared one a plate of pancakes with another person and we couldn't quite finish it. The pancakes were sweet. I don't think they used fresh berries for the compote. It was satisfying. I would say it's very standard pancakes. Nothing was worthy of taking photos of and posting on social media. It felt old fashioned and no frills. The service was fast and the food was filling.

That was great. The service was slow but the staff was friendly. We were very underwhelmed by the food. Waffles were bland and overly sweet. Pancakes the same. No butter at our table. Hash browns undercooked and overpriced. The vibe wasn't even that exciting for the kids. Just loud. I'm usually not this negative but we were very disappointed.
