FINALLY, A place in Dorchester whose Chili doesn't taste like Hormel. From the first bite (still eating it, had to review already), to the crunchy but slightly moistened crackers that come with it and the slight kick any homemade chili has, in just one word, FANTASTIC. My mother is in love with the chicken parm that I got her and loves the obviously homemade potato salad that has a whole lot more to it than the seemingly small container it comes in. Would have been five stars if our waitress bothered with basic manners and refilling our waters. The more expensive place in Adams Village, but the food is better so it's worth it. The service is usually ok, except once I got forgotten about and had to wait over an hour for food, which was frustrating because management did not offer any sort of apology. It has easy parking in the lot across the street. The biggest con is that the acoustics make everything super loud so it is hard to hear what someone else at your table is saying, so it's looks like a nice place for a date but you can't really talk to each other. read more

I came in for dinner and ordered an Italian sub. It was mediocre. However, the service was the worst part. I sat at my table for a good 40 minutes waiting to be served, and keep in mind that it wasn't that busy. This blonde short hair waitress was serving all the "white" customers and socializing with them. Whereas I being the only Asian and minority at this place felt ignored. So after about 40 minutes of waiting I was so pissed off. I got of my seat and told the manager that I was being served after sitting at my table for like 40 minutes. Eventually the manager told the blonde waitress to come and serve me, and when I ordered my Italian sub and beer, she just immediately turned away and didn't say anything. Her expression was cold and really rude. But apparently she was extremely helpful, chatty, and smiling with all the white customers at the place. Clearly I know what this is all about, racism. I won't ever come back to this place ever again and I'll tell all my friends to stay away from this place. Also, the price for an Italian sub I think was way over price, plus tax and tips on top of that. Not worth it! There are plenty of better sub shops around that serves just as good of a sandwich with out paying for tips and without being racially discriminated against. read more

This was a GREAT find... Kinda stumbled upon this place. I had the grilled salmon with capers, spinach and mashed potatoes. It was cooked to perfection! Good portions. The Calamari appetizer with a delicious red sauce was yummy for my tummy. The waiter was very pleasant. The place was not that big, but the atmosphere was warm and inviting... The food is really good but everything else is awful. We sat at the bar for about 5 minutes before the bartender acknowledged us and took another 5 to take our drink order. After getting the drinks it took another 5 to get a menu when we stated we wanted food when we first sat down. It took 35 to 40 to get our two cold sandwiches. My girlfriend had to ask for a water for the second time. She had asked when she ordered her drink. Food was really good but my gf wasn't very hungry so she had her food wrapped up. Now I have incredible heartburn and upset stomach from, perhaps, the amount of raw garlic in the dish. It tasted good going down, but now I am awake at 4AM because of it. definitely has gone down hill in the past year, I went last summer and everything was delicious. Today was a different story. First off it took so long for the waitress to acknowledge us we almost left, she literally had 4 more minutes until we walked out, second the butter but squash ravioli were mediocre at best, they had NO seasoning it was just squash wrapped in pasta not even salt or pepper, the only thing it had going for it was that the pasta seemed fresh. the sauce was ok after I added salt or pepper but definitely could have used some seasoning. My friends burger was over cooked, asked for medium and got beyond well done again with NO FLAVOR. We probably won't be back or recommend this place anymore, unless your looking for bland. Recently I had a small dinner party (15 people) to celebrate my daughter's high school graduation. The Blasi's catered it for me. I ordered a small rustic antipasto, buffalo chicken tenders, turkey tips, eggplant rolatini, chicken parm and baked ziti. There was more than enough food and it was delicious! Everyone raved about how good everything was. One of my girlfriends said, "I'm picky. This is delicious!" Also plenty of left overs for meals all week. The pricing was very reasonable. Good food. Usually get burger and fries and my bf gets the turkey sub and both are really really good. However, one time got hot Buffalo tenders to go and was just whole pieces of chicken ripped into strips and tossed in sauce and they put the celery in the sauce instead of in tinfoil by itself. Hit or miss.... That's what you'll get at Blasi's. If you're prepared to throw your money away eat here! Especially via take out. We've eaten here before and it's been fabulous. For instance the Chicken Marsala and the Shrimp Scampi.... Have had both and they were excellent then other times they were terrible! No consistency at all! Don't order the garlic bread...ever! Unless of course you like taking a bite of your garlic bread with cheese and getting a good tablespoon of raw minced garlic, without warning, since it is hidden under the cheese. Same thing with the red sauce, way too much garlic...overpowering. We'll at least sometimes. Consistency!! Blasi's could be a 5 star local eatery if it started to concentrate on consistency. Ever cook should follow the same recipe for everything. The girls that work the take out counter should double check the order with the customer before the customer leaves. My family and I live near by and frequently dine at and order take out from Blasis since it's within walking distance of our home. This is by far one of the best neighborhood restaurants around. The food is always delish and the wait staff pleasant. It's kid friendly and great for an adult date night with drinks as well. The Chicken Marsala is my favorite, but I've tried almost all the dinners on the menu and none have disappointed! My only reason for giving 4 stars is the take out dishes seem smaller in portion than what you would receive on your plate, but it is still a good size meal. My kids love the French Bread pizza which I didn't realize was even on the menu until recently! Grab a Richie's Slush on your way out! read more

My husband and I often go here for a beer or 2 . This is a great neighborhood bar. Eddie the bartender keeps the clients happy with deft handling of the barroom while the food is quite tasty and worth the price. I especially love this place when they have entertainment. However, we miss Syd Slacks! When they played here it was simply the best time of any Dorchester bar we've had! Please bring Syd back for another round!!!! read more

here i sit. in my apartment alone and haunted by one word: famous. it was this one word that enticed me to order the Reuben sandwich; it claimed it was famous and that, my friends, is the magic word. i sat there staring at the menu and thought, "well if its famous its gotta be good." oh, my darlings i was wrong. the thinly sliced corned beef is not even roasted on premises (ok, i can forgive), but the meat or the sandwich for that matter is not even hot. My extra cheese i ordered wasn't melted which is a total turnoff right there. the three dollar side of french fries are not fresh cut; they are already fried then refried to order. mmmm...delicious, and you can actually taste that they haven t changed the oil in quite some time, which is especially appealing when you can almost swear you can taste a hint of chicken while biting into the lukewarm fries.
