So I think I've been spoiled by MOD pizza where I live, MOD is AMAZING. So, I had high expectations for Blaze but sadly the pizza didn't have much flavor. They have a plethora of options ranging from different sauces, cheeses, meats, and veggies. I generally have my fixed creation that I usually get but I love that it's so customizable and personal. The size of the pizza is enough for two to share or oto feed one and still have leftovers. (Or if you're like me with an enormous appetite, one is just right and doesn't leave leftovers.) This is the worst pizza presentation ever!!! So the guy tried to slide the pizza without using the pizza handler thing and the pepperoni on my pizza went flying everywhere!!! Instead of taking out the pizza and putting the pepperonis back in place like a good worker, the guy just added more pepperonis on one side of the pizza. I really like this place. Its got a great neighborhood feel to it even though it's a chain. It was situated in a shopping area. I appreciate their outdoor patio just because the inside was packed. Now, don't get me wrong. I love Blaze - I frequent the one located in the UTC of Irvine (near UCI) and I adore that one. However, after a heavy duty morning of shopping at the Outlets, my family and I were starving for lunch. Our shopping wasn't complete yet, so we opted to simply eat in the Outlets rather than drive out and come back just to have to fight tooth and nail for a parking spot again. We ordered two pizzas between four people (because honestly, who can really eat an entire pizza by themselves?!). What's nice about blaze is that you can get different toppings on different sides of the pizza (half X on this, half Y on that side). The workers are pretty awesome to put up with my complicated order, but luckily there was no one else in line that I was holding up. When the pizzas came out, they were a little burnt on the sides, but that might be due to the fact that the guy cooking wanted to make sure everything was well cooked. So, why the one star? Well, after eating at this specific location, it turns out that both of my parents ended up having the runs. I'm not sure what exactly was on their pizza that wasn't fresh and caused this issue, but I didn't have it myself. While I still love Blaze, unfortunately this chain doesn't seem to offer as fresh of ingredients as other chains. My tummy ended up feeling a bit funny, but giving food poisoning is never a good sign for a restaurant. read more

Hubby and I had lunch at order at the counter pizzeria and a server will deliver your food at your table type of establishment. Our lunch order was: (1) Red Vine w/ Pepperoni Pizza: Ovalini mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, pepperoni slices, parmesan, basil, red sauce, olive oil drizzle. Our thin crust pizza which easily fed two people was perfectly cooked and absolutely delish! (2) Tomato, Basil, & Ovalini Side Salad: Ovalini mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, basil, arugula, balsamic glaze. The side salads are packed into small containers; but u get more for your buck when you use one of the plates to consume your salad. Everything was fresh and scrumptious. (3) Roasted Veggie & Gorgonzola Side Salad: Roasted zucchini, roasted red peppers, gorgonzola, romaine, house vinaigrette. This salad paired perfectly with my pizza....... I just couldn't decided. That and I really am a carnivore at heart. They also have set pizzas if you don't want to build your own. I definitely recommend their spicy red sauce. For a line stretching around the block (did I mention it was free pizza night?), it moved quickly. I can only imagine that on a regular business night, this place will be faster than a fast food joint. I ordered a pizza with red sauce, mozzarella, ovaline mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, sautéed onions, and basil topped with dollops of red sauce and a pesto drizzle. I patted myself on the back for my clear culinary mastery, until my husband just had to top me -- he went with both red and white sauce, swirled, with EVERY cheese and EVERY meat and a few veggies to boot. God, I love that man. Our pies were ready in no time. The crust is a nice and thin; it's wood-fired, so you won't have the bendable, new-york style foldable-ness (but it still has a nice chew; it's not *too* cracker-thin), but you do gain a rich taste from the fire. The toppings were varied, fresh and fantastic. My huzz noted that his pizza was a tad watery, but I think that's the price you pay when you order, literally, every cheese (including fresh mozzarella and ricotta) and every meat and don't let it sit for a minute to settle. He'd pay that price again, gladly, I have no doubt. The salad selection looked great and we'll definitely try one of those next time. The only downside is that after over-indulging in their addicting blood orange lemonade, I couldn't find a bathroom in the spot. They have an overwhelming selection of toppings, you will probably end up with a mountain of toppings because they all look so good. My favorites: Red Vine: Basically Neapolitan margherita pizza. Green Stripe: that pesto sauce is amazing. Antipasto Salad: Refreshing vinaigrette that cuts through the oiliness of cheesy pizza. Custom: Red Sauce, Mushroom, Ham, Pineapple, Red Onion, Ovalini Mozzarella. Lines go by pretty quick because they have like 10 people in the kitchen helping out. It was around 1130am and I went to Blaze Pizza to order my kids a pepperoni pizza on my way to Rubios (nothing against them, I love their food). The employees were extremely nice. Unfortunately, I don't recall any of their names. The young man asked if I'd had ever been here. I told him no and he explained the menu and bragged about the 800 degree stone oven. I was impressed. I went ahead and placed my order for the kids' pizza. It smelled so good that I broke and ordered a Meat Eater, hold the meatballs, add sausage, sprinkle some oregano and garlic...BAM, my perfect pizza! The red sauce was very good, one of the best I've ever had. It was more on the sweet side, the way I like it. The other toppings were all fresh and delicious. Love this diy quick fire pizza concept! When faced with the other options at the outlets, this place wins hands down! Its all very fresh, quick and cheap which is exactly what you need at the outlets. Every employee offers service with a smile and they literally couldn't do enough nice things for us. We accidentally came on very busy on Pi day (any pizza for $3.14) but all were cheery and welcoming. PLUS What a cool promotion to offer - We were so impressed with the quality and limitless potential for such a small price! When I'm not exactly sure on a place, I love trying it cheaply so not a lot is lost if it doesn't go well - this was one of those home run promotions! There are SO many options from bases to sauces to toppings to cheeses. I love that you can come every weekend for a year and have something different!
