Lots of these guys have opened in our area recently, between Blaze, CYO at Palomar Airport Road, Urban Pi in Del Mar, Pieology up in Irvine - I'm sure others are coming too. My money is on Blaze. On this visit I had the Link In, which comes off the shelf with Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, sautéed onions, mozzarella and red sauce. As an avid Yelper, regardless where I am, I only go to 4 stars and above eateries etc, unless it's reputable like Panera or Coffee Bean. At the outlets in Carlsbad, there are many choices to eat, but they are all three stars, except here. With three toddlers in tow, and one option for me, I asked all three kids if they would eat pizza. Thank goodness they said yes. This place is perfect for kids. It's a create your own pizza place where one pizza is big enough for four kids I would say. We got a cheese pizza for the toddlers and two salads for me and my friend. Everything here is priced well. The salads were delicious, and for $4.45 not a bad deal. For $6 all three kids ate, and for us that's something since they never eat. I mean never eat. The pizza itself takes about a few minutes to come out of the oven after ordering, which is not bad especially when you have hungry kids waiting. Pizza was actually very tasty. I also had the kids split the whoopie pie cookie which they heated up for me and made the marshmallows inside gooey. All in all, for two moms trying to hustle and get their kids fed, while feeding themselves, this place was bomb. A definite win. read more

Came here for dinner Monday night about 7:30pm. Our order: - White Top Pizza: white cream sauce with mozzarella, applewood bacon, chopped garlic, oregano, arugula - Antipasto Salad: entree salad - grilled chicken, applewood bacon, artichokes, roasted red pepper, red onion, shredded mozzarella, romaine, italian vinaigrette My wife thought the salad was good but needed more dressing. My pizza by itself needed more ingredients so I added chicken, mushrooms, black olives, roasted red pepper, salt, oregano and artichoke. Overall I thought the pizza was ok. The reason I docked a couple of stars is we each ordered a beer (Blue Moon and Flat Tire) and they were not as cold as they should be. Drinking out of a $5 bottle also seemed off-putting. Can't we get a frosted mug? Or cold draft beer? Afterward we stopped by Pizza Port in Bressi Ranch for an ice-cold $3 Hefe. It was really warm inside the restaurant too, probably due to the pizza oven right behind us. I don't like being uncomfortable when I'm eating. Overall I thought the pizza was ok. Good not great. I especially liked being able to add more toppings without any extra charges. CYO Pizza off Palomar and El Camino Real is much better in my opinion. The price seems to be the same for either, unless you want gluten free or wheat crust. All of the pizzas are made with a semi thin crust that tastes very fresh. I loaded my pizza up with every meat they had.chicken pepperoni sausage meat ham bacon . You name it, they've got it. The pizzas don't take long to cook since they are about 8-10" and a cut into 6 slices. If you like pizza, you will love this place..The only thing g you may not like is how small they are.. These pizzas are personal sized. But it could be fun if you are with a group of people who want to try different types and share. This place is not like shakes or rou d table.. There are no buffets and don't have tons of annoying kids running around. They do have salads if you're the third wheel who did t want to eat pizza. :) This place gets 4 stars for the fact that they close early on the weekends 9.pm : / I think the food is priced right for the value. This place is dangerously close to my home. I love the idea of it - one price no matter how many toppings, how fast their pizzas are made, the quality of their ingredients, and the fact that their gluten free pizza is pretty good. My favorite pizza is the green stripe, and I add bacon and jalapeños and whatever else looks good that day. Tip for the gluten-free pizzas - get it without sauce or make it light sauce, otherwise it is too hard/soft (hard to eat because it's soft) until it cools down. Not a problem with me if I'm craving sauce, because cold pizza tastes better IMO. The hard part is waiting until it cools down. ;) read more

Solid establishment. We were there the second day they were open. The employees had clearly been trained and were ready to go. All 18 of them. At least that's how many I counted. I have my suspicions that even more were in the back. I guess they were ready for the madness of last minute gift seekers. I'm still not a huge fan of the assembly line style pizza but they managed to make the process a little smoother than other places I have been. Between my family of four there was still at least a 4 to 1 ratio so it should be easy. We ordered the simple pie, a BBQ chicken pizza, a basil, tomato salad, a s'mores cookie pie thing and their two types of lemonade (regular and blood orange). My favorite thing was the lemonade which is awesome because I was a little sad about the hot dog on a stick disappearing because my favorite mall treat is lemonade. The pizza was well above decent, the salad was...well...a salad. The s'mores cookie things was very very very good but how could it not be? Cookie? Good. Marshmallow? Good. Chocolate? Good. So, their systems were down while we ordered so they said to come back or something to my husband. We sat and ate our pizza and I figured they'd tell us when it was up and running but we were almost done with our pizzas and still no one. So the hubs went back in line to pay and they thought he was ordering. Ha! I think that is just new establishment kinks that will hopefully be worked out. There was a time when they burnt our pizza, approached our table and apologized in a professional manner, and gave us a coupon for a free pizza on our next visit. Needless to say, it didn't take long for me to take them up on that offer. Their game is on point, too. My girlfriend and I visited a location in Orange County, and while the customer service was on par with Carlsbad, the pie was slightly undercooked. Came here for the free pizza today and I gotta say I'm a fan! It's a Chipotle/Subway style pizza place and then they cook it in 3 minutes right in front of you. I got the BBQ chicken pizza and substituted the banana peppers for jalapenos and it was fantastic. The ingredients taste fresh and the people who are working there were very friendly even though the line was out the door and then some! I think they only come in the personal pizza size and they are $8. Not bad for the quality and the amount. I'll probably be back during the week as a pick-me-up lunch. You get whatever toppings you want for an affordable price, and you can box up your leftovers if you refuse to share your pizza with anyone else. I had the BBQ chicken pizza and it was good, but was somewhat lacking in flavor. Some additional BBQ sauce might have helped, and the gorgonzola threw it off a little. You can customize the pizza to your liking, of course, but I just wanted to give one of their pre-made pies a try. Boyfriend got the Link In, which I had a slice of. Sausage was tasty, but I've always had a bias towards sausage. I might've liked this one better than the BBQ chicken. That blood orange mimosa though... I could drink a gallon of that stuff it's so good. I was simply passing by this town on my drive from San Ysidro to Los Angeles. I got hungry on my commute and happened to check nearby restaurants which led me here. Upon entering the restaurant I immediately noticed a young mans energy behind the counter. His name was Jay. He was attending a couple and he was the most hospitable person I've encountered in a long time. Eventually he came around to helping me and his energy remained consistent and genuine the whole time. Definitely made my experience here an amazing one. He even checked in on me half way through my meal and that made me feel cared for as a customer. The pizza is decent but the staff is downright inhospitable to the point of nearly hostile in attitude.Management has failed this location as the social polarization is obvious and unavoidable here.
