Even though it's right there on the beach, we spent the LEAST on dinner for a family of 4 here than we did all week. Their specials are reasonable and the pizza was pretty darn good. The lines made me think that this pizza would blow my mind. I appreciate that they offer pizzas by the slice, and they also have a large amount of beverage options for a pizza shop. Many of which are non alcoholic items, which is a plus for me. I got a non-alcoholic grapefruit pale ale beer which was fun. However the pizza itself was just ok. My mom and I split an 18 inch pizza and on my half I just got their cheese pizza. I think a really good new York pizza just lives its best life in that simple but magical format. However the bottom was a bit to firm and almost crispy so it didn't give much of a fold. The crust I didn't finish, and the cheese lacked that seductive pull. It was not what I would call an indulgent or nostalgic experience. It was just a basic slice of pizza. It made me full and didn't taste bad, but didn't fully satiate my craving. The inside is a bit crowded feeling so I would snag a seat by the outside so you get the nice breeze and you can people watch. I did think it was really nice of them to let my mom sample one of their beers before she committed as well. Update on this: I had called a few days ago about the refund and the gentleman who answered said they didn't have any record of one. I filed a chargeback with my card at this point to get the refund. Today, Andres, the store owner, called me to chat about the experience. He was very apologetic, understanding, and said they wouldn't fight the chargeback and would also credit my account as well for a future order. I appreciate so much that he took the time to listen and understand what occurred and apologized as well. It truly was an unfortunate experience as we love this place so much!
