Always has a line for a reason :) Can't go wrong with those unlimited toppings and finishes!

"Vine" signature pizza, with a "finish" of sea salt and pesto sauce. SOOOO juicy and hot.
    Madeline A.

My "Vine" personal pizza was akin to a pizza pie without the bread overload. It was like having an entrée on top of a thin-crust pizza -- so much hot, juicy goodness pooling perfectly within the crispy crust as I folded it to eat, almost like ... a taco? I also like the ordering format, which is like Chipotle for pizza. They have "signature" pizzas, but regardless of getting that option or build-a your-own, you get to watch your beautiful, doughy canvas make its way down the assembly line as additional topping options are offered by the employees. Everyone working there calls you by your first name as your pizza is going down the line. It's cute. The pizza comes out of the stone oven really fast. Then, at the end after they've boxed your pizza, you'll be asked what "finishes" you want to add on top. I added pesto and sea salt. This is definitely my new favorite campus eatery.

For the third or fourth time, I got an incorrect order from this location. I didn't get any tomato sauce at all. I order through a delivery app so there was no option for sauce or no sauce (or other types of sauces). So I just selected the other toppings and got no tomato sauce. I don't know if this is an app issue or if the people making the pizza aren't thinking.

Beyond thrilled this place is finally open! You can build your own pizza here (it's like subway but with pizza). You can get creative with it and the servers here adding your ingredients are double checking if you are ok with the pizza's appearance every step of the way. This is actually the first pizza location that does that as I have to see that level of service anywhere else. you also have different choices of salad as well including the ceasar salad as a side. Since I was in a hurry, i ordered a two topping pizza with pepperoni and pinapple (yes pinapple can go on a pizza too ;) and it was perfectly cooked and thin and wonderful. I saw a girl next to me add ricotta cheese, brocoli and artichoke hearts with pesto and it looked really good so i am going to give that a go next time I can't wait to come back again soon :)

SERVICE: What distinguishes this Blaze from every other Blaze is the fantastic service! My server took so much care making my pizza, asking if I was satisfied with the portions, etc. This can probably be attributed to the fact there was no line behind me...but I really appreciated the service! My pizza tasted sooo delicious and she arranged the toppings perfectly. PARKING: This Blaze is located on UCLA Campus. The nearest garage is Parking Structure 2. PRICE: The price at this Blaze is slightly more (by about $0.75) than comparable Blazes. AMBIENCE: Modern cafeteria-like setting with lots of outdoor-style seating and access to outlets.

Blaze has the concept of assembling a pizza much like a subway sandwich eatery. The toppings are placed in front of you and you tell the server what type of crust and toppings you want, and then you watch the server place the toppings on the pizza. After that, the pizza is placed in an oven, and then you wait between 10 - 15 minutes until the pizza is ready. Because this Blaze is located in the UCLA campus in a food court for students and faculty, it is very accessible and there is plenty of seating inside and outside. A lot of people seem to "love" the Blaze pizzas, but I think the pizzas are cooked "too fast" and find the overall taste of the pizzas to be bland, uninspiring and overrated. I did inquire, and Blaze will be introducing "cauliflower pizza crust". Right now it is in the testing phase. I believe I will enjoy that type of pizza when they offer it.

This is now my go-to place to get lunch at UCLA. Man oh man is that crunch fantastic. Get in line and experience unlimited toppings, great service, and impactful flavors for only $8.65 conveniently located on campus. Granted, it's kind of cumbersome to carry around a whole pizza to classes and whatnot, but they do have compact half pizza boxes which are pretty convenient for when you don't want to be stared at for flaunting a huge pizza box in the middle of lecture. Without a line, the whole process takes about maybe 10 minutes including the whole cooking of the pizza. I really like how they have "finishes" at the end just to add a little more pizzazz to your 'za. It's the perfect opportunity to secretly (or proudly) finish off your masterpiece with some ranch. The pizza itself it's one of the better ones I've had. It has a fantastic crunch when you first bite into it which is something I feel is drastically under stressed. The choices for toppings are bountiful and you can even add more than one protein. There's also pineapple so... You do you.

Value: 5/5 For $8.65 you get either unlimited toppings on a custom pie or a signature premade pie. That is a pretty good deal for an on campus restaurant! There also also some great toppings and drizzles you can get after it is fired in the oven. Taste: 4.5/5 The crust is easily one of the things that sets it apart from Pieology or other similar counterparts. The crust is super crispy and has a satsifying crunch throughout the pie. The handle of the crust is actually puffed, unlike the flatter crust edge fron Pieology. The pizzas here are noticeably less salty and flavored than Pieology's, so I would recommend you ask for more salt or sauce on a premade pie, or just pile on flavorful toppings on a custom pie. Service: 5/5 Line was long and slow on opening day, but the workers were friendly and kept things organized despite the line snaking at least twice inside Bombshelter!

1-top pepperoni pizza with arugula, pesto drizzle, & ranch finishes - $6.95

Honestly I'm always down for some customized pizza. And what's so great about this location is that it's central to most of the South campus/ science classes that I have at UCLA, so it's convenient for me to drop by! My favorite part about this place is the addition of finishes at the end. Whether or not there is a limit on the number of finishes really depends on the student worker. I appreciate how they always ask if I'm a student so they can disregard the tax before ringing me up. Overall, good and quick service here!

I'm so happy this place opened up in the Bomb Shelter! I've eaten at other Blaze locations before and the quality at this restaurant is consistent with, if not better, than those ones! I was worried that because of the hectic college environment (especially during lunch hours), the quality would be lowered and the crust would be soggy or not cooked long enough. However, my crust was perfectly golden and crispy! The crust is thin (pretty standard for BYO pizzas) but you literally pile on an unlimited amount of toppings for around 8 bucks! It's a great value considering I can divide my pizza into two meals. I was extremely full and could barely eat half of it. If you're on campus all day, I would recommend sharing with a friend if you don't have a fridge to save the pizza! Also service is amazing here! All the workers are so friendly and they greet you with the warmest smile.

Finding a delicious, healthy-sized lunch in 2018 for under the price of $10 in an otherwise pricey area is difficult -- but Blaze Pizza is our answer! Blaze just opened not too long ago, and while the lines can be long during peak hours, the pizzas are incredible and they have a HUGE variety of fantastic options. For only $8.65 you can build your own pizza with unlimited toppings, customizing everything from sauce to cheese to meat to veggies to 'drizzles'. Their signature pizzas are also customizable in that you can add/substitute different toppings! Note: UCLA students don't pay tax! You can also opt for high-rise dough (thicker) or gluten-free dough for only $2 more. Whether dining in at the Bomb Shelter or taking a box to-go, you won't be disappointed with Blaze!

My pizza. Couldn't resist a bite pt 2
    Irene R.

Blaze is UCLA's latest installment and a classic BYO pizza joint. Opening day has a huge buzz which means long lines are sure to come. I was pleasantly surprised to see how excited the employees all are to have this open. They offered me an enthusiastic greeting and called me by name with an energy rivaling chick fil a employees. The production line was moving a little slow but nothing inconvenient. Workers gave me a run-down of how the ordering works, then carefully assembled the pizza, starting with crust and sauce, proteins, and fresh toppings. They have a LOT of people on the line so they have been processing customers relatively quickly. The line of people waiting for their pizzas to be done is a little more hectic, as employees call out names for people that aren't always there. Pizzas were out of order in how they cane out at times compared to when they were ordered. I ordered a BYO pizza with pesto, mozzarella and goat cheese, and various other toppings. Crusts come out crispy and beautifully toasty. My pizza tasted awesome. Their offerings allow for a creation of some really good flavors. I also tried the blood orange lemonade, which was deliciously fresh and sweet. So far the quality seems really great and I'm hoping it sticks to this standard of excellence past the hype.

I added spinach for extra green and I think it would be even better if you added broccoli too. Pretty expensive though ($18ish) which is sad but as expected from sweetgreen. They had plenty of outdoor seating at this location. The tables were pretty dirty but we wiped them down with napkins so it was fine.

I ordered the 1/4 Chicken white meat chicken and the Chinese Chicken Salad. The rotisserie chicken was perfectly cooked -- incredibly juicy and seasoned well with a lovely herbal flavor. The Chinese Chicken Salad was also a standout. It was packed with fresh ingredients like almonds, mandarin oranges, crunchy noodles, pasta, and crisp vegetables all tied together by a delicious dressing. I also appreciated the nice touch of a complimentary chicken included with the order, which was a pleasant surprise. The packaging was great, arriving in a nice bag securely sealed with a zip tie. Aside from the food, I was actually drawn to this business after reading positive threads on Reddit about well they treat their employees. It feels great to support a business with those kinds of values. My only major complaint is that no utensils were provided. Eating a loaded salad without a fork is quite a challenge, so I ended up having to eat it "caveman style" -- good thing I wasn't around anyone at the time! While this was a significant inconvenience, it didn't ruin the meal. I would have have easily given them a 5/5, but forgetting the utensils brings my score down just a bit to a 4/5. Still the food itself is top-tier and I highly recommend it. I look forward to visiting in person soon to try more of their sides!
