    Pizza Forever

This place was really busy and I knew it was gonna take a while to get my pizza. There were already like four people waiting for pick up so I walked up and I ordered and my order was taken. I was given an appropriate amount of time to wait so I ordered a froze, sat by the bar and waited for my pizza. I love pitfire and if it's the same one, that's where the other one is located, they're both amazing, but this pineapple express really had me intrigued. The place was full of couples families just all kinds. It was a great mix of people a little music playing in the background. You can watch the chefs do their thing. I love the Ambience... I took a picture of the pizza before I went home and I couldn't even get home without grabbing a bite of that pineapple express and I gotta tell you five stars amazing amazing amazing that's a proper pie done right and I will return.

Lots of good things to eat!

January 30, 2025 Pitfire Artisan Pizza's (PAP's / PAP) one day fund raiser donated 15% of every purchase to WLA's Lange Foundation animal rescue. * We donate regularly to Lange Foundation where we met our furbaby, created a forever home until at age nineteen when she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Yesterday provided another way to support this vital non-profit - pizza for dinner! Although PAP offers many tempting vegetarian options, salads, sides, dippers (Full menu https://www.pitfirepizza.com/menu/ ), it was still pizza and nothing but. Our barometer for pizza is thin crust cheese. PAP's didn't disappoint - nearly paper thin base, appropriately sauced, cheese evenly dusted to melt, leopard spotted crust equaled a light satisfying pie. Watching carbs, we tasted a bit of that blistered crust's well developed gluten structure then saved the rest for a DIY Panzanella salad, today's lunch. PAP has a great kid's menu. Offers artisan beer and wine for the grownups. Dine in or get the goodness to go. PAP is located on the east side of Westwood Boulevard between Mississippi and Missouri Avenues. Find metered parking on Westwood Boulevard or 2-hour residential permit parking with attention to all signage; street sweeping restrictions. * https://www.yelp.com/biz/lange-foundation-los-angeles

Really enjoyed my visit here! The pizza was flavorful and had a unique touch--the hazelnut detail on top actually surprised me in the best way. Crust was just right, toppings were fresh, and overall it felt like a well-balanced pizza. The atmosphere is casual and cozy, making it a nice spot to sit down and relax while enjoying something a little different from the usual.

A slice that is half crust with few toppings and burnt parts.

I was very excited to order pitfire pizza last night after not having it for a few months. It has always been one of our top go-to pizza places. Unfortunately, it seems to have gone downhill since the last time we ordered. First off it arrived cold. But in fairness,, it could have been the delivery service. The worst part was that about 1/3 of the slices had very few toppings and were mostly crust. I'm hoping it was just an off night but I'm not planning to return anytime soon.

I came here for lunch and had an excellent time. The Caesar salad is delicious, especially with its heavy lemon dressing. The chop salad is decent. The pizzas are excellent for both takeout and dining in, with plenty of seating available. Great neighborhood spot with friendly staff and good service!

Good pizza, but a sleazy 3% fee (misleadingly called a "Happy and Healthy Surcharge") is added to every bill. Yes, they do post a notice at the register and give the customer the opportunity to decline the fee, but attempting to guilt people into paying an extra 3% that allegedly provides "sustainable" income to the staff is a great way to make customers feel manipulated and unwelcome. As if inflation isn't bad enough already. I find this strategy by Pitfire Artisan Pizza to be deceptive and manipulative, and I won't be back anytime soon no matter how good their pizza is.

Cocktails are slightly limited as it is not a full bar, but they do have options. The frozen Spritz was very flavorful, more fruit forward and would be perfect in a hot day. The Nonna's Medicine had a nice complexity to it with the flavors peeking their heads out at different times through the process. For food we started with the crudo, mussels and grilled oysters. The crudo was very fresh and had a lot going on with it's simplicity. Just a great bite. The mussels were decent but really didn't stand out in any way. The grilled oysters, however, had flavor and texture, with a Parmesan crust on top and the oyster and juice underneath. Very good! For pizza, they are almost like little personal focaccia pizzas, cut into four slices. We tried the mushroom, pepperoni and white pizzas. The mushroom has a garlic cream sauce and herb mix with Parmesan. You definitely get the mushrooms, as they are ample, but they do not over power the pizza. Just a good blend of flavors in each bite. The white comes with Japanese potato, fennel, mozzarella and pesto. Another really great bite with the potatoes not overpowering everything else. Finally, the pepperoni with spicy honey. The spicy honey is more like spicy marinara honey sauce, but it works. Could have used more of that as it came on the side. The pizza itself, with mozzarella and pecorino tasted great. Maybe that focaccia is the move? Overall, De La Nonna did not disappoint. Everything was very nice, and sitting on the patio when the weather is perfect is always a move. I would say to skip the mussels but, everything else, give it a try!

Initially we were going to…read moretry De La Nonna, but they were closed for a special event and we didn't know when we showed up. In the same vein, we stuck with a similar style of food and ended up at Propaganda. There was little to no wait, which was pleasant. It was a nice day and we decided to eat outside. The focaccia bread and salad came out first, and both were good. I enjoyed the crispiness of the bread, though my only qualms were that the bread was quite oily and the butter and salt were just a tad bit too salty for my liking. The Insalata Mista salad was solid. Good flavor, good dressing-to-salad ratio, and a surprisingly good portion size. As far as pizza goes, the Margherita was good. Tasty, moist, and a nice crunch on the crust. I found it to be enjoyable, though I may have enjoyed more fresh basil on this. I did find it better than the Boscaiola. I got the black truffle honey add on, and it does not go well on this pizza in my opinion. There was virtually no taste of truffle to me, and more of just an aftertaste of oily sweet honey. This was a miss. It's hard to say whether the base pizza was good without it because the flavor profile was just too overpowered by the aftertaste. The Arts District is definitely coming up with new upscale dining establishments, and I'm there for it. I think this is a solid addition. Though this is a wine bar, I don't generally drink, so my review is based purely on the food. Results of their drinks, which is quite an extensive list, may be to your liking! They do have an inexpensive three wine flight, for reference!

Food: - Sicilian: THIS was the winner of the evening! The sauce, mozz, ricotta, and pesto all came together to make a really tasty bite. The edges of the crust were nice and crispy, and you can taste the toasted cheese on the edges of the crust. SO good. We both decided that this was the best flavor of the night. I've had this same pizza at several other spots in LA, but Prime Pizza really executed it well here. So well balanced in textures and flavors, and the crust was both nicely crispy on the edges and fluffy in the center! - Spicy Pep: Solid pizza, and we LOVE when pizza places use cuppy pepperoni. It was a bit spicier than expected, so be prepared to *actually* taste the heat when you order this one! It's tasty and the crust for this one was also banger, but (IMO) pales in comparison to the Sicilian. Would gladly come again for the Sicilian!

Nice name, but when I see menus of any cuisine that go out of their way to offer vegan and gluten free versions of everything, it tends to put me off. I know that's an unfair prejudice, but I always assume it's more of a healthy food place for people who complain about regular food than a real tasty joint. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. Now that I've tried their fantastic pizza, my only sadness is that they are located in DTLA, where finding parking even to run in and pick up things to go is always difficult. So, we were here at first not for the food but because my teen son's death metal band, Institutionalized, was playing a show with the very popular super cool local metal band Diabology. But, hey, if you're there might as well grab something before you leave, right? So We got a cheese pie, which was excellent. Also tried a slice of their white pie, which was garlicky goodness. What really sold us, though, was the Sicilian pie we got. As born and bred New Yorker transplants who have been here a long time, we have never found a fantastic Sicilian. Good, sure, but never great. The pies are never thick enough as far as the breading. Here it was as close as we've ever got. And like the other pizza, the taste was excellent. And, as native New Yorkers, we know our pizza! Strongly recommended! Can't wait to get another Sicilian pie in the near future with some toppings.

I finally went back and tried one of their vegan pastas I hadn't tried before, and there was meat in it (pancetta). The customer service was amazing and the cashier who helped me, Melissa, was so apologetic and sweet (obviously wasn't her fault), but this is just another warning to anyone who is vegan and considers coming here. I also came when they were about to close and already had to wait like 15min longer than they said so there's not even anything else open this late for me to find other food. Very disappointing and I will not be coming back for good this time. If I could give separate stars for customer service, I would give them 5 stars but this was unacceptable on the cook's part. The online ordering process isn't the easiest and the pick up process feels a bit clunky but the service is great. It's not the most relaxed dining experience but that's part of the charm.
