I had a great experience at Blaze Pizza. The restaurant is very roomy and well maintained, making it comfortable for groups of any size. Every time we visit, we go for the Build Your Own (BYO) pizza because we can enjoy exactly the toppings we're craving that day. On this visit, we made a bit of a bold request. We asked for all the veggie toppings. The lady staff member helping us responded with a bright smile and generously loaded up our pizza. Her positive attitude truly made our happy day. With all those toppings, the pizza turned out absolutely delicious. One of the best we've had there. We also ordered meatballs on the side, and when they asked if we wanted jalapeños, we said yes and they add it a lot! It really felt like they were doing their best to make sure we had a great experience and satisfaction. Tonight we had 15 Residents from Swan Pointe's HOA gather at Blaze Pizza in Middletown. Commons. It's was so easy, just walk up to the counter and you tell them how you want your pizza made. They also have specialty pizzas. I love Cauliflower Crust pizza and they had them! We bought one with Grilled Chicken, Bacon, Spinach, Pineapple and Cream Sauce. It was super! You could get Take 2 which was half salads with a choice of a half pizzas of Cheesy bread. They sure looked good! They had breadsticks, meatballs, and Build your own Salads. Manager type lady scolded worker preparing my meatballs in front of me for adding mozzarella to the meatballs which was pictured on the menu. Then was rude to me. Less than impressed. I have been to the Paddock Shops and St. Mathew's locations recently and they have a smoother order process than the Middletown location. This is the only location that typed in your name, number of pizzas, etc That seems to slow things down. Because they were so busy today, they messed up my pizza and I got chastised for pointing to what size drink I wanted and accidentally touching the top cup. This place is still a fav! It's right on my way home from work, so it's my fav. It stays pretty busy, but the lines move fast. In general, I'm a huge Blaze fan. I love the fresh ingredients and the original dough is so good. Also, as someone who attempts to eat semi-healthy... their pizza is one of the easiest ones to make semi-healthy. Depending on the crowd, you might wait a few minutes in line to order your pizza. But, the wait for having it cooked seems to always be quick. Blaze also has salads and dessert on the menu. I decided to stop by their recently opened new (moved) location after they moved out of the shopping center where the Trader Joe's is. The day I went, they were still training, new workers, and one of the trainers, from Florida, spoke to me about how the restaurant was new and she had recommendations of what to try. I also noticed that everyone seemed to be helping each other. You could tell people were still learning, but I didn't see anyone under duress. I had the pesto drizzle pizza. It was delicious. It was nice to not have to have tomato sauce. Sometimes pesto pizzas are bland. However, this one had a lot of flavor and I appreciate that. The new location has more parking than the shopping center location. The only concern would be whether or not you want to get back to Shelbyville Road when you leave. It is possible to go behind the restaurant and head towards Kresky Way to get out of the Shelbyville Road area. I have heard that some people were concerned about getting in and out during heavy traffic areas. I will be back. The new location is clean, it's welcoming, and it looks like a nice place to enjoy a meal. read more

Blaze pizza is a subway style design your own pizza place. So you really control the flavor. If you go by just the classics (mozzarella cheese, classic red sauce and normal crust) then it a solid taste. Sauce has a good flavor. Pizzas are kinda thin and in my opinion very overpriced. They charge more by the toppings but as thin as pizza is the more toppings you add it just kinda piles over and does not bake into the pizza. My recent visit at this location on a Sunday night around 830 was a big turnoff due to the atmosphere the workers created. They were extremely over staffed. I counted 11 workers. But only like 2 were working. The table right by counter in the lobby was filled with a rotation of 6-7 workers during the entire 35-40 min I was there. People literally had to walk around them when going to pickup food when the name was called. Was a very bad look and I felt bad for the 2-3 that were actually working and doing there jobs. read more

I tried Blaze a while back and I'm just getting around to my review. It is a quick and cheap build-your-own pizza joint. There are numerous toppings and sauces from which to choose and the pizza price is the same no matter the amount of toppings one chooses. There is only one size pizza (which is a perfect size for one person) with a thin crust. similr to Subway or Chipotle you advise employees which toppings to put on the pizza. After the pizza is built, it goes into the oven and in approximately 4-5 minutes your name is called to pick up your pizza. This would be an excellent place for a quick lunch during working hours or a quick dinner when one doesn't feel like cooking. I enjoyed being able to get exactly what I wanted on my pizza. We have been to this location several times and have always enjoyed it. The place has always been clean and the employees have always been polite and courteous. The way Blaze works is.......... 1 size of pizza only, kinda like a personal pizza. You move thru the line and they put what ever you want on it. (Kinda like a sub shop). It goes into a fire oven and when the pizza is finished in about 4 minutes they are calling your name for you to come up and get it. All drinks are self serve which I like best. I usually love to eat here but as I pulled up a couple night ago (Dec 10th 2021) and only 2 of the workers had mask on. (Very disappointed) I feel anyone working with food should have their mask on while preparing food or serving. Especially since the new omicron variant is here. And yes I always wear my mask!!!! I'm still going to give Blaze a 5 star because I love it here! Just all workers shall have to wear a mask vaccinated or not! A group of my kiddos at work had just finished a production of Shakespeare's "The Tempest". They worked really hard for five weeks to learn their parts, learn their stage direction, and performance in front of a group of their peers. I wanted to reward them for their hard work with a super special cast party. Not that Papa Johns isn't delicious, but I wanted something a little more special. So I took to Yelp to look for artisan pizzas in the Middletown area. That led me to Blaze. I checked out their website and the prices seems really low. I called the store to ask if they were personal size pizzas, because they were so affordable. (as a nonprofit agency, we always love saving money) :) The girl on the phone told me that the pizzas are 11 inches, cut into six slices, and feed about two people. I asked if I could order over the phone but she informed me that they only except online orders. So online I went. I ordered a total of 8 pizzas, after all, this is for a reward snack, not a full meal. I ordered 4 specialty pizzas and 4 cheese pizzas. A plain old cheese pizza is only $5! I added a note to my online order that we were tax-exempt. When I got to the store I checked-in with Syn, the cashier. I told her I'd ordered online, she quickly found my order and had them start "blazing" my pizzas in the fire oven. The bill was correct, expect they hadn't taken off the tax. I explained that we were tax-exempt, presented her with our TE certificate and asked if she could remove the tax from the bill. She was super friendly, but wasn't sure how to remove the tax, so she would she quickly went and got her manager. He came to look at the computer but couldn't find a button for tax exemption either. He promptly went to the back to call another store to ask how it could be done. While I was waiting, Syn was very thorough in informing me about what was happening. Unfortunately, they could not figure out how to take the tax off so, they ended up just taking the price one of the pizzas off my order. The tax would've only been about $3.50, but they gave me a credit for one of the specialty pizzas which are more expensive. I thought that was really nice, especially since i had less expensive pizzas on my order! During my wait I watched the staff hustle and bustle, all with smiles & focus. My entire visit was only about 16 minutes -- from the time I checked-in, the time it took to fix the tax exemption problem and fire & box my pizzas. This gave me just enough time to get back to campus with super delicious and hot pizzas to celebrate the success of my kiddos -- and a fairly small bill to boot! read more
