I was very lucky to be a part of their pre-grand opening event on Wednesday, July 23, 2014. My niece gave me two tickets (more like a business card) to attend this event. It's located next to Baskin Robbins and Pavilions. Service: great service. Staff are efficient, energetic and friendly. A few of the employees came and talked to us and the owner also came by to thank us for coming. I love to build my own pizza. I like the fact that they offer gluten free crust as preference or simply due to an allergy. I prefer their red sauce over the white sauce. Toppings were unlimited for $7.65. Wow, sold! Toppings were all great, but they were not generous since they were making a ton of pies that day for free! My crust was not burnt compared to the other one (gluten free). I like their "red" lemonade. I think it's grapefruit. It was VERY loud in there, which made the ordering part a bit challenging. But my pizza came out good. Went during a busy fundraiser, so my experience might not be the norm. That being said, I was getting more and more irritated as I moved through the line. I pretty much reached anger by the time I had to pay. The factory line system they have in place definitely hasn't been perfected by them yet. It makes sense that each person is in charge of a category, i.e. sauce, cheese, meat, and so on. It doesn't make sense that I have to talk to all of them at once. Let me explain. I ordered 6 pizzas, all different and build your own style. Instead of me telling the sauce person which sauce I needed for each, I only got to tell her one before she passed it on already. That meant I had to talk to the cheese person about pizza 1 while talking to sauce person for pizza 2... and they passed it on. So I had to talk to meat person about pizza 1, cheese person for pizza 2, and sauce person for pizza 3. And so on and so forth. I was DEFINITELY rushed through the entire process. I didn't have time to even complete my instructions. I knew what each pizza needed, but I was confusing the pizzas because of the way they needed me to put in the order. First pizza went on the oven rack without completion because I was busy talking to the other people about the other pizzas. Can't forget to mention, they totally skipped one of my pizzas. Idk if the dude miscounted how many papers he wrote my name on or the workers in the line got fed up with me running back and forth trying to get my order in, but by the time I was being rung up, I was short a whole pizza and paying for pizzas that didn't have all the toppings I needed. And yes, I did bring it up to TWO of the line workers. I said I wanted 6 total and they kept telling me that they made 6 for me (even after they double checked!!). So in my head, they either lied to me or decided to create their own for me since I wasn't ordering fast enough. And it feels like the complaints won't stop from me, but...my garlic knots. They had some ready in the window, but they all looked undeniably burnt. I was so sure that they were going to toss them. I was wrong. I asked for a new batch. They kept running out when I went back to the counter to get them. I literally didn't receive them until my group was pretty much done eating their pizzas. The saving grace in that store is the girl at the register and the dude at the cut station. The girl actually let me breathe and listened to me. The guy didn't do anything in particular for my situation, but I was watching him work. He was (correctly!) handling the stream of customers and their finishing demands like a boss. The pizza is good. I'm not going to trash their product because the service sucked. The pizza is really good. But after that fiasco, I don't really want to go back. There are nearly endless possibilities and combinations, so it doesn't get boring, and more importantly ... they are fast. 180 seconds to be exact, or so Blaze claims. Wanting a quick lunch, we were originally going to Flamzz on Ivy St., a mere 2 minutes away from this place, but since we haven't tried Blaze yet, it was a no-brainer. The concept & ingredients between these places are all very similar: crust w/ gluten or not, pick your sauce, then your meat, veggies ...etc. They also have a menu with their own creations in case this concept gets too overwhelming for some people. Service was pleasant. A girl asked if this is our first time and if we know how things work. and the guy that made my pizza was able to make it to my exact request, and the flavor came out great. 180 seconds? I think not ... but it was still fast. I ordered: Italian sausage, meatballs, applewood bacon, mushrooms, artichokes with shredded mozarella, ovalini mozarella (fresh, as opposed to dry) and gorgonzola, with spicy red sauce and fresh basil. The sauce actually had a nice kick. The combination of the meats & cheese resulted in a salty, creamy, tasty pile of flavors on the thin crust. All for $7.65. Though it's a personal size, I was only able to finish half. And what's better than leftover pizza when hunger strikes at night? Not much. It used to be a decent and friendly place until COVID, now Commander Pizza man, has taken over barking orders, they yelled at us "You! Outside or you vill be shot!" Negative Signs everywhere, "limited staff" no seating, no refills, things we know but don't need to be reminded of. The only thing missing was an armed guard beating us and barking orders as we moved along the line. Last time I was yelled at like this was during boot camp in the Navy, even then, they were PAYING me, not me paying them. If you don't like your job close shop, go out of business, I don't care. Great location and service: easy to find and ample parking. Inside, the lines are not excruciatingly long like the other more well-known places because their specialty is that they cook their pizza in a fast-fired oven for 180 seconds, provided of course that their pizza crust is super, duper thin and some of their meat/veggies are pre-cooked. You have a choice of building your own or picking their signature pizzas for $7.65. $1.95 for soft drinks and $2.00 for their signature s'more pie. I got the spicy red sauce with almost everything on top and he got the white sauce with almost everything on top as well. Both came out fast, hot and fresh. I'm not a big pizza eater but both of us gobbled up the pizzas fast. The only criticism I had with mine was that I didn't taste any of the spicy red sauce so I honestly don't think it would have made any bit of a difference in taste if I had gotten the spicy or regular. Lastly, please, please, please stay away from the ovolini mozzarella cheese. The big chunks of ovolini mozzs were great at the time but both of us had to pay severe consequences at night... and the following morning for having them. I normally build my own pizza here, but I was curious about the seasonal special Fiery Maple & Squash pizza, so I decided to give it a try. I added feta cheese and oregano, otherwise left it "as is." The toppings were generous and all of the flavors went super well together. This pizza has an autumnal, cozy, and unique flavor that's a nice change of pace from the usual "pumpkin plague" that happens around this time of year. Grabbed a bite to eat here this evening with a friend of mine for dinner. This Blaze Pizza location is located in the same plaza as Von's (specifically located right next to Baskin' Robbins and Starlight Express). We entered around 6:25 pm or so and there was no line to order. After browsing the menu for a bit, we both decided to go for the build your own pizza ($7.65 prior to tax, add as many toppings as your desire) route, although you could also pick one of their other pizzas in case you are not feeling rather adventurous and wanting to make too many choices. Although my pizza is supposed to be in the oven for only 180 seconds (3 minutes), it did take some time to get our pizza since there were quite a handful of people ahead of us waiting for their pizza. We probably waited about 15-20 minutes for our pizzas (after you pay for your pizza, you wait for it to be done and they will call your name). The pizza I got was made with mozzarella, classic red sauce (marinara), chicken, mushrooms, spinach, basil, olives, artichokes, roasted garlic, red peppers and oregano. The pizza tasted great and the crust was nice. I liked that although the pizza is a thin crust, it was still a little thicker than the thin crust at Pieology because it can actually support the toppings and won't fall off after you pick it up and take your first bite. The flavors of the toppings I had were great. I also had a smore pie ($2 prior to tax) for dessert, which was also nice. The employee who took our order asked if I would like to have it heated, which I did and it was given to us with our pizzas. The employees who helped with our pizzas, the employee who was at the register and the employee walking around the dining area was very nice. The server who walked around the dining area checked in with us to see how our pizza was and also removed our dirty dishes. Overall, this place is a great place to get a custom made pizza for lunch or dinner. By the way, this place does not have public use wifi (the wifi is there for the register) and you can purchase premade salads at the register in case you wanted to add some more fiber to your meal. read more

We were lucky enough to go to the pre-grand opening event on the 23rd and it was so awesome! My friends had one-topping pizzas while I built kind of a supreme pizza. I was saying how I thought the Pasadena location was ok (service-wise) to one of the guys and he was so pumped up and said that this location would blow that one out of the water! Haha I love all the friendly and bright faces, even if they are just for the new opening! Their red sauce here is preferable to other places since it is not that bitter, which is great! Toppings were all great though they went a bit easier since they were making a ton of pies that day for free! My crust was burnt compared to my friends' one toppings but I will attribute that to them being new. It can get VERY loud in there, FYI, but most of the time you're busy eating anyway. A few of the employees came and talked to us and the manager recommended The Green Stripe as her favorite... Blaze is pretty standard and a really solid lunch/dinner option if you're looking for something quick! This location is conveniently located near a Vons and a ton of other restaurants! For double the lactose you can grab a shake from mooyah next door to enjoy with your pizza!! For the most part, blaze has a pretty efficient process and the line moves pretty quick even when it's busy. The staff here is pretty good as well - they help get customers through the line and are pretty generous with the toppings they put on the pizza. We've ordered online a few times to do a pickup in store and every time there's something a little off with our orders. I'm assuming it's the high volume of pizzas and what not, but there's always some toppings missing when we order online. Probably a better bet to just come in in person to order! I like eating where I can see them put the ingredients in your meal. If you want more cheese, just ask for it. If you want a little more olives or onions, don't be shy. We're at Blaze almost once a week (in Carlsbad). Both my boys and hubby love everything about Blaze (as do I)! The price point is very decent for a family of 4. Tonight, while on a little getaway, we Yelped pizza around Monrovia and were so happy to see Blaze! So we headed over. The only problem, with me driving and my husband navigating we COULD NOT, for the life of us, see the storefront! In our defense, it WAS dark and we're newbies to this area. We drive around the block/Pavilions center a few times and thought, "Are we completely blind?". Yelp says it's here, it must be! Anyway, we finally noticed the little hanging sign under the walkway. My first time trying Blaze. It's like u are at Subway but pizza version. I just add all things I want. Definitely, must have Pepperoni and bacon on ur pizza. They provide varieties of topping, healthy ones. For a sec, I did ask myself if Im having pizza or salad or both. (Coz I add Arugula leaves with balsamic; interestingly tasty). So while in line we noticed a sign stating that if you "Download the Blaze App, you will receive a Free Drink." We downloaded it and were told that there was supposed to be a barcode to scan which both we or the cashier could not locate. We were then told that they couldn't honor the deal. Eventually after speaking with the assistant manager we were able to get the Drink. We explained that it wasn't the money but the principal of the matter. They shouldn't have a sign promising something if they couldn't deliver, that's called False Advertising. I'm also deducting a Star due to the restrooms being closed for paying customers. I explained that washing hands was a huge part of stopping the spread of COVID-19 and they were concerned that there would be crowds of people gathering in the restroom. I assured them that a simple sign reminding people to use the restroom "One at a time" should suffice to which the employee didn't reply. This place has been open since late July and this was my first time visiting this specific location! Located off Myrtle/Foothill in the large Pavilions parking lot, Blaze is my favorite, fast-casual pizzeria chain. For roughly $8, you get unlimited toppings to put on your pizza. Compared to other competitors like 800 degrees that charges $1 a topping, this is a STEAL. I usually get my pizza with the spicy tomato sauce *not spicy at all* and a variety of cheeses (ricotta, parmesan, goat cheese, etc) & vegetables... they have a plethora of proteins, but sometimes meat isn't necessary to be full and to enjoy your meal. This is essentially like a Chipotle line in that you go down the line of toppings until it's ready to be cooked. I ask for it be cooked extra crispy every time. Once it's done, I ask for it to be topped with fresh arugula and greens and ask for a side of ranch. You can always order from one of their predetermined pizzas (BBQ chicken, margherita, etc), but the fun of coming here is making it yourself! LOTS of seating inside, so that's great! Been a blaze pizza eater for quite a while. We were passing by Monrovia, and decided to order from the one on foothill blvd. Expecting great pizzas as usual. However, when we for home and ate our pizza, it's like the whole thing was doused with sea salt. We did request sea salt and oregano, but boy we didn't ask for The Whole ocean of salt. I made my own 11 inch pizza with spicy tomato sauce, artichoke, mushrooms, vegan cheese, tomatoes, peppers, soyrizo, arugula, garlic. I got the regular dough. It was really good and flavorful. I might've added too many toppings because it was difficult to hold the slice of pizza up. The pizza was actually quite filling, seemed a little thicker than usual. I think extra tomatoes is a must on the pizza and the spicy sauce actually had a kick. Recently I've been opting for white sauce over red, over which I add a generous spread of shredded mozzarella, ovalini mozzarella, and ricotta cheese (don't judge me, I just really like cheese okay). Throw on some chicken, tomatoes, onions, mushroom, spinach, and roasted garlic (you MUST try the roasted garlic) and fire it up! Don't forget your finishers. After my pizza's out of the oven I always top it off with arugula and a drizzle of BBQ sauce, although next time I think I might try the balsamic instead.
