Used to love Blaze. The price now is crazy for a small BYO. So just be aware - it's not the same great affordable pizza shop you used to know. Got the gluten free crust yesterday. Chewy and rubbery is an understatement. Hard pass in the future on that crust. This particular location is pretty unorganized. Lots of folks there but takes a pretty long time to get a pizza made. The pizza is Amazing! I created my own pizza with vegan cheese and a ton of wonderful toppings recommended by Jeff. He was also great with customer service! The whole of the staff was fantastic. Blaze pizza will always have my heart. I'm super happy they opened a location in northridge, and it's super spacious with lots of indoor seating. If you really wanted to, you could even study here as there are plenty of wall outlets. The only reason why I'm giving it a four star is because the staff still needs some training. As a customer, I didn't particularly mind waiting, but it was really awkward to see high tension between the workers and manager. They did just open so I understand the frustration. Problems with each visit. 1st visit (order placed online) Didn't receive 15% discount, and when associate was asked about discrepancy, I was told that I would have to contact customer service. Could not tell me my balance. 2nd visit (2/11/2024 12:00 noon) Order placed online. ( in request column of order) Requested that fresh mozzarella and fresh Basil be added after pizza was cooked...neither was added. When approached as to how much was left on card, the manager ( after numerous attempts ) could not give me a figure of how much was left on the gift card. Also no receipt was provided. Stopped by yesterday for lunch with my husband and it was our first time at this location. Jose helped us at the counter and made our pizzas perfectly! He was super cool and didn't mind when we asked for extra of each topping. Overall, the entire staff was very friendly. My wife and I finally had the chance to try out this Blaze pizza location. We were shopping inside Northridge mall and she wanted Blaze pizza so we stopped by tonight. The place is not connected to the mall so you have to exit where Dicks Sporting Goods is or the mall entrance itself to get to it. When we walked inside, they had a couple of guest in line and dining inside but the place is still very clean and nice. We got the build your own pizza, I went with the spicy red sauce, mozzarella chesse, Canadian ham, bacon, pineapple and banana pepper. The pizza didn't take long to make and I thought my pizza was delicious. When they were preparing my order, the lady checking the pizza dough didn't like how the person made it because the presentation wasn't nice so she made him redo it. I believe her name was Julia and she seem very dedicated to her job. I also got a medium drink and they have some good options of soda or lemonade to choose from. My wife enjoyed her pizza as well, dining inside of the place is also relaxing. If you want extra chesse or crushed red pepper then you'll have to ask for it when you pick up your pizza. They have a outdoor patio where you can sit and watch TV but we wanted to be inside with the AC. Some people leave their plate at the table after finishing their food and a worker will clean it up but there also a place where you throw away your trash and leave your plate. Was sent a free pizza card as a promo for this new opening at the location of the once cool mall that consisted of sears, and arcade, and stores you actually saw quality merchandise in the 80s (sigh). They should call this place bizarro pizza. The employees are to say, a bit different. The lady making my pizza did very odd things. Chatty with other employees in an odd joking manner (not a bigge but not necessary should be more professional) but 2 weird things she did. I always get red (marinara) sauce and noticed they also had a spicy version so I asked if she can add it. She put some in the middle of an already regular sauced pie and spread it out....with the bottom of a mini plastic sauce to go cup??? She put very little cheese, also bizarre. The strangest thing was, when I asked for my fave topping, artichoke, she TOOK the hearts in her hand, plucked the thin barely chewable leaves and put on pizza like a garnish and THREW the hearts back into the artichoke tray! It was the weirdest thing Ive ever seen, besides being berated at Pieology for correcting my order after employee messed up a few years back LMFAO. I froze and didnt say anything. Anyways, their speed of pizza cooking time is less than 5 minutes, I guess their ovens are more high-powered than Pieology. It was a good pizza, lil better than Pieology, a crisper, better done crust (requested) and better marinara sauce. But the artichoke thing and skimpy cheese shoots it down a few stars, those were just too strange to not mention. I guess you can ask for them to fix those things on the spot, but man how many battles can you fight in this city when ordering food I'm just tired dude. Have a nice semi-outdoor patio to sit. I do not know what the issue is with this specific location. All of the other Blaze locations around LA I've been to are quick and efficient . No matter where I am in line, or how busy the store is. A few times i got in line at this location with NO ONE else in line and for 2 pizzas it still took the staff from order to service about 15 mins. I'm sorry to say , but compared to other locations , they either don't have enough staff or their staff move in slow motion. I waited multiple visits before posting this because maybe they had an off day or something , but I think I'm going to stop going this specific location. The food turns out OK but it just takes way too long. Even with it's not busy inside . I have to say that my first experience eating at blaze pizza was in the topanga mall, I was amazed with the attention and how they serve my food, because of the time I ended up finding the Northridge location closes later than the topanga mall so I decided to come over thinking is going to be the same and amazing experience, I was so wrong, place was nasty the girl that took my order didn't ask for my name just asked me how many pizzas I was getting, she left and asked a coworker to take my order he did never ask for may name either just seems to be in a hurry and he was literally trowing wherever I wanted on the dough wich was kind off uncomfortable and they let me at the counter waiting for more than 5 minutes to charge me for my order, it was a completely different experience that the previous one never coming back at this location the attention to the guest is 1 to nothing!!!
